Had it 3 years, used 3 times all in disgusting weather.1. Left it for a week at Tan Hill Inn as the weather too vile to take it down, along with my caravan and awning. Returning a week later after ferocious gales for a week,at Britains highest Inn, caravan awning shredded, Kalahari totally unharmed. 2. Horton in Ribblesdale, pouring rain and floods. Great. 3. Great Langdale, after deluge for a week, massive downpours. Cosy as you would want. A great tent, easy to put up and down, would take it to the Antarctic, MASSIVE inside for just the two of us, great for Glamping which I intend to do in France in a couple of weeks. Fellow campers will a) take the p. In serious mountain sites or b) be jealous of the luxury. I have the awning, carpets et al. Marvelous. Great touches like storage pockets on the bedroom walls in and out, loops for hanging, good window designs etc. Just bulky if you don't have a big estate car.

Hi,bought this tent last year. Camped weekend gone for the second time.
Great size and easily erected, only fault is it is so draughty, didnt notice this 1st time. There are vents all along each side and at the ends. Closed the side vents at night but still a draught from the end vents. Bought the carpet this time which is a good addition but expensive for what it is. Picnic blankets would do the job and be a lot cheaper. Will be buying some for under the bedroom areas.
don't have the footprint so will be looking into getting some tarpaulin as a groundsheet maybe cause I think Hi Gear is expensive. The bed clothes got very damp and cold, probably cause I had no ground sheet and the wet weather lately has made the ground damp.
Got the Zenobi porch this time and its fits perfectly, can expect a gap on the floor and a little at the sides as in previous reviews so save yourself a few quid and get the zenobi porch, the specs are the same. Ideal for cooking with door open. So will be buying another for the other side, will have a kitchen area, dining area and living area. Overall, well pleased with the tent and its accessories. Just need to add some heaters.

Having only erected this once it is easy to put up. I find that the footprint really helps as a guide for pitch location. This tent can be used all year round as its a sealed unit. Lots of space, lots of headroom. Great price for a great tent. We also have the porch attachment which adds space but would be better if it could be pegged more or even come with a sown in ground sheet.

Fantastic tent! Lovely and big providing enough space for all. I have just used the tent with the footprint, porch and carpet which make it even better!
Even with the addition of the porch, it still only took 35 minutes to erect the whole tent and is very easy to do. I would recommend this tent to anyone looking for a large, sturdy tent for anything from weekend trips to proper holidays.

Just used our tent for our first camping trip this weekend. Huge and easy to erect. We used one area for sleeping, and the other end for chemical toilet and storage and plenty of room in middle area. We bought the carpet which made a difference, and are looking to buy the porch next. Put up quickly and it survived a blustery evening. It was easy to dismantle in windy weather as long as some pegs left in! Overall, really good tent!

Picked a returned one up of an eBay seller for £90 with an unspecified fault - still haven't found it! Fantastic tent for family of 5 with absolutely loads of space. Well made and very easy to put up (and down) with practise we can put this up in 30 mins (complete not just outer) and take it down in 25. No problems in any weather encountered so far.
Very happy with this tent and I would both recommend and buy again.

This is our first tent and camping season as a family and 2 dogs. We found the Kalahari 8 was plenty big enough for 2 adults 1 child and 2 dogs. It is great with the sewn in ground sheet as no drafts and the carpet adds a bit of comfort. After our first adventure we brought the porch(we found that even though the go outdoors website had no stock for our nearest store during the sale they did have them in so it is worth popping in store)which was great for cooking, dirty shoes and leaving dog food. We found the tent great and would recommend it.

Easy to erect, plenty of room, just wish I had the footprint as the pitch we had in Devon a couple of weeks ago was a tad muddy. Will probably also buy the porch next year. Go Outdoors have sold out of the porch for this year.
Just as a precaution I would also recommend spraying a very small amount of cheap wax polish on a cloth and rubbing along all the zips.

Great tent, plenty of room. We have only used it once so far, but it was subjected to high winds and heavy rain. And it survived with no problems at all.
We bought the tent together with the porch, footprint grounsheet and carpet, which I think are all very useful add-ons to have.
Even as novices, we found it easy to erect and put away and would happily recommend it.

Great tent, very easy to erect,my wife and I manage to set it up without too much squabbling, fully sewn in groundsheet gives a completely draft free experience a must for first time campers, bought the tent at go outdoors in the sale at a very reasonable 199 pounds, also bought the carpet for a wee bit of luxury, will be buying a side porch for it before next season starts, also the footprint although they are very hard to track down, perhaps due to the sale. All in all a very good tent.

Manufacturer's Description
An updated version of the Kalahari Elite, the Hi Gear Kalahari 8 Eclipse is a spacious, stable and comfortable tunnel-style tent with two large partitionable bedrooms in a face-to-face layout, roomy enough for you, your family and all your gear.
The bedrooms comfortably sleep four at each end of the tent, in 2+2 inners with breathable polyester walls. They're made using darkened 'Eclipse' fabric that blocks out daylight, keeping it cool and dark inside so you get a better night's sleep. The bedrooms can also be removed, to give you extra storage space, or room for dirty gear.
The large living space has two large windows and hanging storage pockets to help keep it tidy, organised and liveable. Multiple vents along the roof help air flow throughout the tent.
The sewn-in groundsheet couples with the fire-retardant polyester flysheet give you a ventilated interior that's completely protected from draughts and downpours. The two doors can prop and extend out for extra shelter, or to expand your relaxation space.
Other useful features include the water-repellent zips and dual electrical cable access points. Pre-attached high-visibility guylines, reduced pole sleeves, and the sewn-in groundsheet make pitching quick and easy.
