We recently replaced our Montana 6 and front extension for a Vermont L. This was a great choice for us. The Montana was a great tent but the extension was a real pain in the butt! Since swapping to the Vermont we have not looked back - so easy to erect and no need to deal with the difficult extension. We cannot believe people are putting the Montana extension on the front of this tent as it really isnt required. Great tent, great quality (you get what you pay for) easy to erect - what more could you want!

We've had our Vermont L since summer 2009 and think its just a fantastic tent. We spent 12 nights in it in Dorset, glorious weather so it wasn't really challenged, however have also spent some rainy weekends in Scotland recently and not a drop has leaked into the tent and its stood its ground in high winds. The SIG and the bathtub in the front part keep it nice and dry.

Tons of space, very practical tent as well, lots of little pockets to store things, lots of windows to let in plenty of light. We've used this tent about 7 or 8 times now so are getting pretty well practised in putting it up, only takes us about 30 mins. Putting away has got easier too, there's a knack to folding it up but once you've got it, it rolls up great and into the storage bag. We've had no problem with any of the seals or windows, the only niggle we've had is that the zips can be sticky now and again.

To say the tent sleeps 6 is a bit of a push, its comfortable for us 2 adults and the two kids, any more than that would be a bit of a squeeze. Would thoroughly recommend for family camping.

If you want a tent for a family, made of quality then look no further. This tent is faultless. Just got back from 3 days in Cromer. Extreme wind and rain and this beauty didn't move an inch. Granted they are not the cheapest but you get what you pay for. Other tents on site were collapsing and being laid down whilst she stood strong.

I bought this tent last year 2009 paying £650.00 which included a footprint and the carpet for the living area! We used it twice, once in the May half term holidays to give the kids a taste of camping which they loved, we then used it for a week in Cornwall, it was ideal when the weather turned foul, completely waterproof and plenty of room for three adults and three big kids. I am buying the side entrance canopy for it this year and using the front entrance as an eating and storage area. The tent drew comments from other campers were we stayed, so much so my brother in law went out and bought one the day after we returned home!

What a tent!

We use the Montana 6 front extension with our Vermont L.

We have used our tent in heavy rains and head-on into strong winds (maybe 30-35mph). It is rock solid.

We bought the extension because the front door is angled so that when you open it during heavy rain, the water falls straight in. The extension fits perfectly and provides a canopy over the front door so we don't get rained-in and don't have to be all zipped in when it rains. Brilliant.

The tent is very spacious, the wardrobe and hanging pole being invaluable for storing clothes and 'stuff' not wanted in the bedrooms.

We use the children's bedroom. This is easy to put in as you just unzip and roll down the existing pod, and clip the children's room in. It doesn't look as slick or 'tidy' with the chidren's room, as you get a small gap between the two pods, which you don't get when you use the standard pods zipped nicely together. My daughter doesn't care about aesthetics and loves her room!

I love the windows and vents. You can play about with all combinations of window/mesh/curtain.

This tent IS long. We are now careful where we pitch but on some occasions, have felt that we have extended too far (even without the extension).

Drying our wet Vermont L: the Vermont L doesn't quite fit into our back garden. However, because it is a tunnel tent, we can just about get it in all bunched up with some strategic guying and pegging out. This is a major consideration though in case of wet packing-up days.

The tent takes up a lot of boot space! Although we can pack everything into the car + roof box, it is tight, and less than ideal if you're packing down a wet tent. Using a trailer is much better (for us).

One last thing: don't forget to remove the wardrobe pole when packing down. Our pole punctured the groundsheet but tenacious tape did a sterling job.

We have now had our 6th outing in our lovely tent and are so pleased we bought it. We upgraded last year from an old 6 man canvas frame tent in which we had camped for years. So much so the pole springs had gone and we'd had the skirt re sown twice!

The Vermont L was an excellent choice. Very spacious and sleeps 5 very easily - I think 6 would be a squeeze! Easy to put up and take down with 2 people. It also folds back into it's bag when it's not wet - with a little bit of persuasion!

We were impressed with the new mod con's - sewn in ground sheet that stops all the bugs joining you, fly mesh windows/doors, illuminous guy ropes, storage pockets and a wardrobe!

Our first outing last year was subject to a half hour thunder storm and we sat there watching the roof for drips. As the rain gathered the tent rippled and the rain flowed off - just as it's supposed too! We did have a slight leak on the front left hand zip but nothing a can of waterproofing spray couldn't fix.

Our criteria was 1) Must be able to stand up straight, 2) Must have room to live comfortably on rainy days and 3) Have enough space to cook inside. This tent has it all and more. My only thought would be that we possibly should have gone for the M model as this one is 7.7m long and on some sites is restricted to certain areas.

Would certainly recommend the Vermont range - although the storage bag could be slightly bigger!

Just back from our first get away in our new 'home'. Delighted with the tent, just the right amount of living space, the wardrobe proved invaluable (how did we ever cope without this area we ask ourselves!). Kitchen unit and cooker was placed out the way in the front section and as this area is very roomy there was plenty of space to open the door without balancing on one leg so as to avoid knocking everything over !

Ours did leak at the central seam (the light hook)but Yeomans replaced it no problem.

A great, sturdy looking tent, plenty of room with the usual great outwell quality. Easy to put up and didn't move a bit even in the high winds.

Glad we purchased this tent, just the right size for our family but as with all us avid campers we're already looking to purchase the canopy extension!

Just returned from our first adventure with our Vermont L. What a pleasure!

Plenty of room for both people and stuff! No leaks and stood upto a big summer storm with ease. Our friends all ended up in our Vermont L as there was not enough living space in there tent to get out of the storm and carry on cooking/playing.

Easy to pitch and dismantle and if you are looking to purchase a tent with plenty of space for cooking/living/sleeping then this is the tent for you!

Love it! Our last tent was an Aztec Falcon 8, and although the Vermont is a 6 person, rather than 8, we found we have much more room. The windows all open completely, (or can have mosquito mesh)as do the 2 side doors, the wardrobe makes a great storage area, and having 2 separate living areas is a real bonus. The layout and quality of this tent is fantastic, can't fault it

We have had four outings now in our Vermont L. Bought it after having a Bamford for many years. Needed more space with having two Old English come with us.

It's cosy with the carpet down and we just love the space it offers. It stood up to the harshest of wind on the May bank holiday last year - when all around were loosing thiers, ours stood strong. Very nerve racking admittedly. Never leaked and is easy to put up with the two of us. We love it, our dogs love it. Great Tent
