Wow, what a fantastic tent.
We have owned this tent for nearly 3 years & its seen a great deal of use.
This year I have been using it on my own when staying away doing exhibitions at County shows.
It CAN be put up by one person but it can be a struggle, im 5 7'.
I start of by laying the tent out, then starting with the back I insert the first set of poles & using the highest guy rope I pull it up & peg it.
Then the next I do exactly the same etc etc.
Takes me around an hour & a bit depending if its windy !.
Downsides, well the weight of it as its a bit of a lump putting in the car & taking out & WHY WHY WHY did they put mesh on the side tensioners !.
It does take the patience of a saint when putting it up but its well worth it.
We have 2 adults, 2 children & 2 VERY big dogs, this tent accommodates us all in comfort.
Worth every penny of the £599 I paid new for it from Somerset camping in Taunton (2007).

We saw this tent on a campsite in Dorset and liked it. We bought one last year and think it is an excellent tent.
It is big and so comes in two large bags. The tent bag is heavy to shift around, the bag for Poles etc less so. The size of the bags means that we put ours in a small trailer with some other gear as we only have a small car.
The tent itself is truly excellent in hot weather (we're in the Med as I write) where the mosi-net and window options come into their own. It is also good in the rain.
The size of it means you have plenty of space when the weather is bad or very hot.
We use our tent for two adults and two teenagers but there would be loads of space for more people or gear. We like the space inside for an inflatable settee and table and coolbox inside but the space would also be great for travel cots and baby gear, or toys for young kids.
We're average size so the sleeping areas are ok for us and easily take inflatable mattresses.
Outwell would improve the tent if the main door was fitted with a mosi-net (the windows and sleeping areas all have them).
We will buy a footprint soon to protect the ground sheet and keep things clean when packing up; and carpets do help the feel underfoot inside. Outwell have both as options.
We've found some campsites don't have large enough pitches for the tent so checking in advance helps.
All in all this is an excellent tent.

Overall a truly outstanding tent and worth the investment, we used to have a Vango Diablo and decided to upgrade due to the constant noise polyester tents generate in high winds. The wolf lake is a very stable tent in very high winds and torrential rain with very little noise from flapping material.
I would agree with the comments on putting the tent up, we generally take no more than an hour just be careful of the side tensioning poles and ensure the pins are facing the floor.
We have a foot print and it really helps in judging where to set up on smaller pitches and helps keep the groundsheet clean in all conditions. It is a sizeable tent when packed and it is easier to pack into a trailer. We use ours most weekends throughout the spring and summer and it never fails to get admiring comments from fellow campers.
In summary expensive but worth it

I guess I am only going to repeat what has already been said about the Wolf Lake. It is truly a magnificent tent, very solid and substantial, especially as it never budged an inch during wind gusts of 20plus mph, with just regular checking of guylines and needing to spread items about in the living area to stop the wind billowing under the zig, we slept soundly.
The real positives are as stated already, it is so spacious, with double airbeds fitting all 3 bedrooms and allowing plenty of room in the living area. The bedroom layout of 3+2+2 can be widened into a large bedroom and normal sized bedroom. It feels really nice being inside polycotton and the design is tasteful, including the green checked curtains!
The full canopy allows space and convenience for storing cooking facilities and shoes and wellies, but the tent has flexibility of having 2 side doors/zip open windows.
But again, as has already been said, this is a monster of a tent and not for the faint-hearted. The bags containing the poles, tent, zig and bedrooms are huge and need 2 people to lift them, as well as filling a car boot.
This tent definitely cannot be erected by one person, but by following the Yeomans Ambleside YouTube video can be easily be erected around the hour mark including guying out, of which there are loads!
Also being 5'7' I am unable to attach the bedrooms at the uppermost ceiling, OH at over 6' has to do this.
So.If considering buying this tent, think carefully and if you are prepared for the negative points, it will reward you for choosing a stunning tent with lots of plus features and you won't go back to polyester!

We love this tent.
We are a family of 2 adults and 4 children aged 8-3 and really need space especially with the UKs ever-changeable weather.
We watched the Yeoman's of Ambleside video on You-tube before erecting it for the first time and managed tent-up, ZIG and inners in in 1hour 10 so don't be put off by the rubbish instructions that come with it!
This tent looks and feels like it can withstand anything the weather or the kids throw at it and we love it.Warmer/cooler and quieter than the tents we've had before. Such quality comes with a hefty price tag (so shop-around) and very heavy bags. Don't buy it if you have back problems, a small car or nowhere to store it. On the other hand if you want something that's going to give you years of comfortable weatherproof camping with oodles of space this is worth every penny. I suggest that you buy the footprint as a really brilliant aid to erecting and taking the tent down.
Watch out for the poles getting caught in the sleeves. Ease them in baby. We've seen a couple of people ripping their beautiful new canvas by being over-enthusiastic. I've docked a point only because of weight and erection instructions. We're going to try to beat our record set up of 58 minutes this weekend.

A great tent - very comfortable and spacious with a good quality feel about it. OK - its bulky and heavy but this is a small price to pay.
We first saw this then at a Yeoman's show and at first dismissed it as being too expensive. However, after a lot of research we just kept coming back to this one and I am really glad that we did. We have 3 kids which meant that the baby could have a room to herself and the older two could go to bed much later (after the marshmellows).
The interior space is just right for the rainy days and the large number of windows means that it is lovely and bright inside. The mesh pockets inside are also a very nice touch.
It took 2.5h to erect the first time but only 1 1/4h the second time around. We chose to use the un-official way of erecting the tent by putting in the arched poles one at at time and pulling it up as you go (There's a UTube video showing this somewhere). This is so much easier than trying to put all the poles in then pulling up the huge weight. The only downside seems to be the huge number of pegs required. I'm not sure if they are really all required but it seems to take forever putting them all in.
One other tip - after the first time we erected it we took it down with the ZIG and pods attached. It is so much quicker/easier to put it up again with these in place. And finally - make sure all doors are closed when you put up the tent otherwise you are likely to get tension problems when opening closing the doors. We forgot this last time and it took a while to 'shiggle' the tent back into shape.
We also have the side extension which ended up being our main outside area. Although this is a nice addition, our feeing is that it was not quite deep enough and it's a shame that it can't be positioned on the front of the tent (instead of the side) to give a really large awning. Regardless, it was a good addition and I would recommend it.

Having migrated from a 35 year old frame tent our research paid off when we camped for just under a week in the Wolf Lake 7. Aside from the weight and time to put up and take down, it's a dream. Plenty of space and everything works as it should. It's nice to have the sealed ground sheet and a I recommend the footprint sheet too (and the carpet :)).

A fantastic tent, comes in two huge, heavy bags mind you, but hey, its a big spacious, quality tent, easy to pitch with 2 people. We have the footprint, carpet & kids room, the kids love it in there, I like the fact at night they can play on one side, me an the wife sit on the other side & there is loads of room.
Highly recommended.

Spent 5 days away at the beginning of April in Wareham, Dorset. What a fantastic tent! It took a lot longer than our previous tent to put up - around the 1.5 hrs mark without setting everything else up but it was well worth it.
We had similar experiences as the previous reviewer regarding people commenting on the tent and looking inside.
It was freezing outside on the last morning with frost on the canvas outside. The tent only took a few hours to dry out in the sun.
I highly recommend the footprint groundsheet for ease of putting the tent up an down - a perfect base to avoid the wet and give an indication of where the tent will be.
We haven't got the carpet but used some camping rugs which were a must with the cold floor!
It's worth checking with campsites before you arrive to make sure the pitches are big enough to take the huge size of the tent. We had no problem, especially pitching the tent sideways so it doesn't impose too much into the site.
It is a chore to put up and take down but once it's up you don't want to leave!
We love it!

We have Just spent a weekend away in our new Wolf lake 7
Great tent. Very spacious and we love it.
It took us about 1 and a half hours to put it up , we had loads of trouble with the side tensioning poles. Wish I had read the above review about the little push buttons IE facing them down and taping them,it is great advice. We ripped some of the mesh on one side trying to get the pole through.
When it was up it was FAB and everyone who walked past wanted to have a look and talk about it.
We camped very high up in Shropshire and we were pitched into the wind and we had very high winds on the Sat night.
The Wolf lake never swayed (we did after a few glasses of wine) lol
Review below is great and very accurate so I will Just say WE Love It
