I've just spent the best part of two weeks living in this tent, 4 different campsites, hence 4 x putting up and 4 x dismantling and folding.

Straight out of the bag and not reading the instructions, it took maybe 10 minutes to get it up. Putting the pole in the canopies and pegging the lines in maybe takes another 10 minutes - this was all at a leisurely pace. By the last site we managed to put it up in only a couple of minutes, dismantling it and folding was done in an equally short time and must've looked impressive if I say so myself! Managed to turn it inside out at one site, but managed to rectify it (though it took half an hour)

Once up it is fairly roomy, having the bedrooms at either end means more usable space since you can have a table set back from the middle, we had the extra storage pockets for more storage and they're quite handy, though hold little weight without affecting the structure.

At one site, after some rain, for some reason the top of the tent started dipping and the lines had all become loose, even after tightening the lines we were still unable to stand upright - this only happened once and I'm unable to say why. After heavy rain on the last night in a different site it stayed bone dry inside and was unaffected in any way. (the manufacturer's description of the large back window being able to be left open in rainy weather should be taken with a pinch of salt though)

We didn't get much windy weather so am unable to say how it would fare in those conditions for any length of time.

Pros:

Easy and quick to put up,

Roomy, can stand in main area (providing you're not tall!)

Well set out, pocket next to door to store it when fully open

Washing line stretched from one side to another in front of rear window/flyscreen, great for slinging a towel onto to dry.

4 storage pockets in each corner of bedrooms

I like the ability to peg the groundsheet flat at the entrance.

Even in the hottest weather (we got lucky) though the main area heats up the bedrooms stay comfortable.

Cons: (some of these can't be helped due to the pop-up nature of this tent but they're still evident)

The bedrooms are pokey,

There aren't enough velcro pads, the ones in the corners are very small and flimsy,

No sewn in groundsheet, so gaps for insects and wind,

Easy to trip over the frame and the bottom of the doors to get into the bedrooms

Hard to dry out unless you have room to pitch it, there's no hanging it over the washing line.

In conclusion; I'm not a very experienced camper, I'm never going to have a professional set up to rival my house but this tent is absolutely perfect for 3 days here, 3 days there, easy to pitch and comes with handy pockets for the canopy poles and pegs.

The family and I have just spent the May Bank holiday w/e over 3 nights.

We bought it as a friend recommended the original 4.2, and the XL has more space for our family of 4, for w/e camping and stays up to 4/5 nights.

It erects or pops up in minutes and down as quickly, I cannot fault it on this front, we couldn't stop laughing at how easy it was, though I placed an extra tarp underneath the ground sheet for good measure.

As others have said nice touches with drying line and storage pockets (which three other storage packs can be added) and bath tub gs pretty much does the job effectively (previously we had a standard gs with mud flaps so this is an upgrade)and the tent did not feel too draughty even in the strong winds.

The weekend on the South Downs had pretty strong winds and the design is more akin to a normal vis-a vis tent and did not buckle or bow/bend with all the guidelines in position (though I did test it the w/e before for a quick test pitch with no 'guides'and it blew away with my 5 year old in lol.She loved it!)

We had light rain, no issues there.However, we do have a concern with the large central roof vent which is placed in the 'second skin area of the living area. With strong winds rain/water could be blown into this area and drip into the tent, as it has no cover.But this has not happened yet just a concern. Also I would like to be able to zip up/seal the top side vent cover on the the side vent in strong winds if possible, as we placed the tent obliquely to the wind.

Overall 8.5/10 very pleased with the tent so far , criticisms are only minor with ample space for w/e camping and we were very impressed with it in strong gusts.

We will update when a full season or two has been thrown at it.

My wife and I have just returned from a 3 night stay with in this tent.

Easy to pitch, spacious living area, and felt light and airy. Sat inside during the evening as it got a little chilly, but with the big front door open it almost felt as if you were outside.

Good ventilation in the bedrooms, used self inflating mats to maximise space.

Folded away easily following instructions in the bag.

Overall verdict - 8 out of 10 - as we felt bedrooms could have been made bigger, and the head height at 180cm means that anyone over 6ft is unable to comfortably stand up.

However this is an excellent tent for touring, which is why we bought it, as it requires a lot less effort than our other steel pole tents and is a lot lighter.

Just tried this out for a dry run - took a bit longer than stated, but that's to be expected first time.

Looks spacious - was a bit of a wind up and didn't seem to be draughty with the bathtub groundsheet stopping the wind.

Seems very neat and tidy, with some clever touches (drying line in the main rooms and light hooks)

Packed away on the 2nd attempt following the instructions in the bag (made the error of not tying up the guide ropes first (school boy error!)

The misses is very impressed.

We will try this out properly at Easter and I will update!
