This is a great tent. I bought it to take on the Lowe Alpine Mountain Marathon, as it's possibly the cheapest two person lightweight tent. The next step up is over a £100.
It's a nice subdued green, and packs away almost to the same size as my bivvy bag. It's not hard to put up, although paying attention to what order you should put pegs in and then what order you should tension guys and groundsheet strops can same pitching time.
Entry is on one side only, I guess to save cost and weight, but if Vango could make it symmetrical on its long axis, you'd firstly get another bit of storage space outside, secondly have a choice of which door to use if the wind changes, and thirdly you can go for a pee without kicking your partner out first.
My LAMM partner is 6'4' and 17 stone. I am 6'2' and slim (with nice eyes as well actually). We just about fitted in, and I mean just. It was cosy. Looking at the floor plan above - there is no way in god's earth could you sleep that way round. The foot end is very low to the ground.
Anyway - I have since used the Banshee as a one man tent. It;s pretty nifty, no major issues at all apart from my size. The way the tent is made, either my feet or my face touch the inner depending on where I am laid. There's only just enough head room to sit up - top garments not too bad but changing pants or trousers requires Houdini capabilities.
There's room inside for rucsacks,(on the LAMM we took ours in as pillows) and I think you could cook in the porch if you were solo.
The tent does pack up very well - I carried it in a 30l rucksack and had room for all my personal gear.
I get the feeling it will take rough weather very well as long as you pitch it right. The mesh sides to the inner seem made to let spray in, so an effort should be made to get the fly sheet as taught and as close to the ground as possible. The only other wet weather issue is that the door always seems to flop back down inside the tent and drip onto the floor and your gonk bag. I am sure there must be a way to avoid this without trying to use the toggle ties one handed behind your head like some sort of Jimi Hendrix trick.
Summary: a good value for money two person tent, especially if you're not packing a total of 12' 6' and 31 stone. Great as a one person tent for short holidays or walking.

The 2010 version of this is pitched outer first, which makes all the difference, if you ask me. It's dead easy for one person to pitch in about five minutes, no more. It's a good comfortable size for one person, small to two people. The porch is small but the tent feels sturdy and secure in poor weather. Generally absolutely excellent value for money.

After several years of owning a copy bought from a high street catalogue store that finally died! I bought one of these for about £80 and won't part with it. Its compact, light and well made.
The design could be tweaked a little though, the porch area could be bigger ie room for your pack as well as your boots when wet but I use a waterproof cover for my bergan when its raining so its not really a drama.
If your looking for a one person tent then get a 200 (two man), If you want a two man then the 300 (three man)is the kiddy or you will find it very cosy. Its well ventilated and I have had no problems with damp when its been blowing a gale an raining but then I shut the foot vent and put the foot of the tent at a slight angle to the wind this shelters the entrance a little better to. The gear loft an pockets are handy and its easy to pitch/strike on your own in wind, the The one thing I find lets this tent down is that its not a fly first pitch but you cant have everything unless your rich, and I'm not. So its a solid 8 out of 10 from me.

This is my first ever backpacking tent so I have little to compare to. Bought it for a backpacking trip around the Lake District as a one man plus rucksac type tent. On the whole I was very impressed - very easy to pitch and strike and seems to have have had some thought put into how to make the most of the available space. True, 2 people in here would be a squeeze but that is true of most lightweight 2 mans I've seen.
I was a little concerned about the headroom but found the I could sit up ok and didn't tie myself in knots trying to get changed. At 6 foot 2 I found sleeping diagonally the way forward, and even then the inner brushed my forehead when the wind blew with any conviction - this didn't bother me, it may bother others. Porch was small but big enough to store my boots, walking pole, and one or 2 other things. After reading the below review I put the end of my sleeping bag in a plastic bag, but found no damp came in the low feet end despite it raining all night - you need to make sure the guy at the foot end is pulled tight and the vent kept shut.
Again, I'm no expert but 2 kilos for a spacious 1 man tent is pretty good, split between 2 this would be negligable in the pack. Factor in the price and the Vango name and you can't go wrong.

Very good tent. Used it for the first time at camping and caravanning club Scottish Regional Meet at kinross. Held up to strong wind and rain on the Sunday night. The only downside is the space could never imagine two people fitting in it. Overall a good tent for backpacking alone.

Had been used to a bivvi but needed a bit more room. I'm getting older and need the comfort of sitting up and having space to change clothes in wet weather. This tent stood up to severe wind and rain with no water problems . Would only recommend though as a one man due to the angle of the slope there would be no head room. Good ventilation due to mesh sides. I'm 6 foot and found the bottom of sleeping bag got damp where it touch the tent at foot end. That would be my only gripe with this tent. Not the lightest to carry but then you get what you pay for. Would never get rid of it.
