Great family tent, just had a 10 day trip to France with 2 children. Thought tent was perfect until it rained - when you open front door, water falls off onto groundsheet. Spent first morning on hands & knees mopping up. Needs zip to continue across bottom end. Brilliant headroom & pockets. Can leave bedroom/s in place when packing up, leave unzipped to allow air to escape when folding up.

Have owned for two years and just found ehu point in bedroom lol as never take down bedroom pods. Only downside is front door let's in wind if strong and rain if not careful-

Been through a few tents in the past few years - but we are sticking with this one for the foreseeable future for our annual weekly forays into the countryside.
Three poles and two in the optional front canopy and one in the optional side canopy.
Loads of room, pockets everywhere and stands up to the most severe of storms.
A few slight niggles - the front door is a bad design - open it when it rains and the water will run into the inside of the living area. This makes the canopy a must have. Having one zip on the bedroom access can be a bit of a pain - would have preferred two.
Also when you tie up the front door - the bungee straps for the front door and inside mesh share the same loops - I found this fiddly and annoying. But the bad points are outweighed by the fab ones.
Lots of room, light and airy with nice large windows and reasonably priced as well.
Wish they would restart making the sun canopy! mines in blue and the tents green - not the end of the world but just looks a bit odd.

A lovely quick to pitch tent for weekends. We use mats rather than airbeds so plenty of room 6 (and even 7 on occasion with a bit of a squeeze).
It pitches and packs away all in one so no need to fold the bedroom separately. Plenty of room for a table to sit at and a storage area in the living space. We've never tried it in high winds so can't comment on that but it has served us well in pounding rain, with no sign of a leak. We really like this tent and would use it more for fair weather camping (only because really there are too many of us to use it comfortably in more challenging conditions) if we ever had any fair weather!

Brilliant tent!
Had it's first proper outing on the south coast and stood up to some horrendous wind and rain perfectly!
We bought the tent as a weekender for 2 adults and 2 children (soon to be 3!) and there was more than enough room for all of us and our things. We have struggled finding the best way to get the poles in the ring and pin, our family tent is a Vango Maritsa 600 with steel poles so we were a little worried about putting the fibreglass under too much pressure - we did not want anything to snap! But I think we have sussed it now, just got to be a bit more confident with them :)
Takes about 30 mins for us to get it up and pegged out, then I put the bedrooms in (although you can pack away with them still attached) while my other half goes round and pegs out the guys. We bought some rock pegs and some plastic pegs as we knew we were going to be on wet rocky ground and these held firm for us. We pitched bum to the wind - which was almost gale force for the whole weekend! And although the tent did shake a little and was rather noisy with the driving rain, it stood firm and we all slept. The TBS system did what it's supposed to do very well. I wouldn't have wanted to be in a tent without them witht he wind we had! Be careful not to over tighten them though, we found they needed a little room to work properly, and not put a strain on the tent seams.
The rain only stopped on the morning we packed up (how lucky was that?!) and we didn't have any water inside the tent at all! the windows, doors and fly screens all performed as they should, we had plenty of space for our little camp kitchen and coolbox, a couple of chairs and the girls' little table in the main area. With the bedroom divided we had our double airbed in one half with room for our bags either side, and the girls had their SIMs with enough room to get 3 in one half easily - handy for when our 3rd child comes camping with us next year!
Excellent value for money - very pleased with Vango for filling my tent needs once again!

Just got this tent last week and tried it out this past weekend, it was great! Easy to pitch, straight forward design. The space inside was perfect had plenty room for our table, 2 chairs, cooking shelf, 2 dog crate (which is massive)etc. On the first night we experienced some very high winds and severe rain the tent performed like a dream, I had expected to wake up in the morning with it crumpled around us but was very pleased to wake and find it had stood the test of the Scottish weather. This is a great tent!

This is a fantastic tent, Great design and use of space. I use it for a family of 4 and there is plenty of room. Very easy to put up and down. I have contacted Vango for some help and advice and found them to be very knowledgeable and helpful so thumbs up for customer service as well.
I have a canopy on my tent which is an excellent addition and I would recommend.

Brilliant space for a family - good ventilation, space to eat and play when the weather turns foul, don't need to pack up and go.
Easy to pitch, even with strangers helping out, its self explanatory with just 3 hoops, 3 poles.
Handy storage pockets throughout means those small items don't go astray.
The only downside is the size/weight of the folded up tent, but for its size/weight ratio its a great buy.

We bought the Vango Icarus 600 2012 model because as many have said and us having a large Kampa Tenby 8 it's just to much to pitch for a sort say.
After reading most of the reviews about the 2010& 2011 models, Vango has listened to there customers reviews and change a few things. Both doors have full mesh secondary doors, larger windows with new curtains and a low mesh vent at the bottom of the large window on the left.
We purchased the 600 so we could definitely fit 5 of us in the sleeping compartment, we had a double air bed a camp bed which we put our luggage under so's not to clutter the living area and two single air beds. In the living area a double camp chair three single camp chairs a table and dog cage and still had space for the kids to play on the floor.
We went away two weekends ago and had it all weather wise and the tent coped very well.

I bought this tent in January 2012 after looking for a replacement for my regatta hyperdome which was a nightmare to put. I decided to buy this tent after reading reviews and also I went to SK Camping in Godstone where you can see the tents on show so you can see what you are buying
One of the main considerations on the Vango Icarus 600 was the tunnel design and the large sleeping area. Also the ease to which you can erect the tent was a big point for me. With only me and my two children (Robert 10 and Stephanie 7) camping I needed a tent that I could put up quickly and with ease. This ticks all the boxes. Lots of small features with the Vango shows me what good tent manufacturers they are.
I also purchased a front enclosed canopy from a company in Strood and this is a great addition to the tent. It doubles the size. I spent my whole time during the day in the front canopy.
Overall I am extremely pleased with my Vango Icarus 600

Manufacturer's Description
The Vango Icarus 600 is a new size being introduced into the highly popular range for the 2010 season. The Icarus range is likely to prove even more popular in 2010 due to the fantastically simple 'as-one' easy to pitch system and the simple 3-pole no hassle construction will make it the most ideal of weekend tents.
The tent frame is constructed using Powerflex fiberglass poles, a Protex 2000 Polyester flysheet (2000mm hydrostatic head protection) and as is the norm these days, the groundsheet is fully sewn-in to keep out unwanted pests and draughts.
The other key features of the tent include, as-one pitching, single 6-berth sleeping compartment (with roll back divider), TBS tension band system for extra strengthening in adverse weather, 10,000mm HH internal groundsheet, side 'J' door with mesh double door, heavy duty continuous poles sleeves, storm skirts, pelmet with storage pockets, cable entry point, front door mesh vent, reflective webbing, (helps aliens encounter you) 'Crystal Clear' windows (with internal covers), breathable fabric inner tent, parallel zipped front door can be used as a sun sun porch (porch poles not provided). Handled carry bag and repair kit included. Flame retardant throughout.
