30 Reviews of the Infinity 600 Airbeam         Showing 21 to 30          Page:   1   2   3

My family (two adults, a 10 year old and a dog) have just returned from our first weekend away in our Infinity 600 Airbeam tent. We had some prior concerns having read reviews of the Airbeam tents.

Overall, we were pleased with the pitch time, space and all the handy storage pockets offered by the tent. Features such as the zipped, roll-up PVC windows were well designed and useful. Although we have yet to test our tent in wet weather conditions, we have hosed it down in the garden as recommended by Yeomans staff with no apparent leaks. One major point of concern that anyone interested in this tent should take note of is strict adherence to the 5psi inflation rule. We pitched in cool evening temperatures and by midday the following day, temperatures had soared causing one of our airbeams to explode. However, we have swiftly been offered a free replacement and would in future be careful to put slightly less than 5psi when inflating in cooler conditions.

Our experience to date has not put us off the tent which otherwise met all of our expectations and we are looking forward to trialling it again in the near future. To those who have struggled to fit the tent back into the top half of the bag, a handy tip is to cut out the middle 'divider' section of the bag which creates a larger space in which to easily house the tent, pump, pegs and additional items. Apparently, these tents have sold so well this year there is now a waiting list and they are predicted to inflate (!) in price further next year. (I'm not on commission BTW!)

Just had a couple of days away in torrential rain, we were quite apprehensive due to the reviews on the 800 & 400 and a couple of the 600 reviews. We found the tent had no problem with the beams staying inflated, there was a small amount of leakage around 2 of the beams but nothing to be worried about considering the amount of rain we have had. The biggest bugbear we had was the shape of the doorway and the fact it leans back means when there is a lot of rain it runs off and straight into the tent when the door is opened, not sure if this is a design fault or a ploy by the manufacturers to get us to invest in the additional extension, sure it would have been a good idea to have a small canopy over the door to stop this problem as on the tigris which looks to be the same design but with poles, overall though some very good features especially all the storage pockets. Pleased so far giving it another tryout next week.

We had our 600 delivered recently, had a practice session in the garden and this weekend used it for real on a Campsite. We were two adults and one child.

The tent is really easy to erect in just a few minutes followed by the usual pegging out which really isn't a big deal.

It rained all Friday evening and then through the night and I was a bit apprehensive as to what I might discover in the morning. However all was well - the beams were still in position and full of air and there wasn't any leakage. During the Saturday night the wind got up a bit but the tent took it all in its stride.

We put a double mattress in each of the two main bedrooms and they fitted fine - just !

Our only gripes were some of the zips didn't run as smoothly as we would have liked and we just can not get the tent back into the d**n bag ! I have to say as well I think it would be a bit tight all round if you were a party of 4+and had to use the third bedroom.

Overall we loved it and with around five more trips planned in 2011 we'll see how it stands up to a bit of use.

Really liked the tent and it went up and down smoothly but had a tiny leak near one of the air beams and the toggle came of the valve that keeps you from losing it and the zip on the bag broke. The small bedroom is also too tight. The canopy is excellent and really makes the tent. We really liked the tent overall but the finish is just not there, certainly not as good as our previous two Outwell tents. It's gone back to where we bought it and we will see what happens!

I would like second everything that Juliasultanas review says, but add one further point that as we speak our new Airbeam 600 is erected in our garden in the pouring rain. The rain has been falling most of today quite heavy at times. We have now found some degree of leakage around one of the beams. So Off back to supplier to discuss tomorrow.

Took delivery of this tent last weekend and erected in the garden. Left overnight, and next day (v. Sunny): no problems with deflating beams, no pegging points missing, bedrooms colour coded correctly, can't comment on leaks because there was no rain. Pitched in 5 mins, although spent time pegging guys.

Great number of fly screens kept tent cool. Double airbed did seem to fit in the bedroom so suggests you could get two in but touching! Can't fault the tent at the moment, and looks great. Quite a different experience to some 800 owners: was very worried after reading reviews to the point we nearly cancelled the order, but am now very happy we didn’t get that far. Managed to get back into the bag too: removed bedrooms, unzipped all doors, and then rolled tightly starting from the 4 bedroom end expelling any air trapped in the tent material itself (which was the main reason we couldn't get it down to size on the first few attempts. Now we know what to do).

Airbeams seem to flatten easily. Apparently, valve is only one way so pump will not deflate. All in all, glad we have it; so much so trying to persuade other half to invest in the canopy now. Would give this 10/10 but we haven't tested in all the elements yet.

Just used tent for long weekend thought it was very good. I bought this tent because its just me and my 3 young kids that go camping and Vango claimed one person could put the tent up, their claim was very true I put tent up no prob. Yes £650 is a lot of money but its the biggest tent one person can put up and pack away with ease so if you need a tent like this its worth the money. Bedrooms are a bit tight and the zips do stick but I've had many tents and found these probs in them all. The build quality of my tent is very good. I would have gave tent 10 out of 10 if not for that silly bag, too much wasted space in bottom and too small for tent. I've made my own bag tent and it goes in easy.

I've heard people having probs with the canopy, I would ban these things they just do not work on sides of tunnel tents. They're ok at the end but never fit on the sides and thats on all kinds off tents. You are much better with a utility tent, safer too.

Just received our tent on Friday, glad we erected it in the garden before taking it any where. Really easy to erect and looks good, sweated buckets putting the pods up (but no real problems, I did try and put one of the pods up side down). Only down side, one of the large main beams deflated slowly, after 3 top ups, my husband took the beam out and checked it for holes, which he found (pin prick size),he patched it with the repair kit provided, but still deflating slowly. We have e-mailed Vango (ordered it through their website) with our complaint and requested a new beam (inner tube) which I would expect to get free as the tent was rather expensive, watch this space for an update.

Still haven't managed to get the tent back into the bag, will have to try and deflate it with the pump rather and just letting the air out with the valves and try again, bag could do with being larger.

An update on my review.

Just had an e-mail back from Vango/AMG regarding my punctured beam. They did state that this was unusual (don't know how they could know this as the tent is just out), but they are sending me a new beam and extra repair patches with no problem.

Just waiting for a nice weekend to try it out and then I hopefully I can change my rating to 10 out of 10.

UPDATE

At last we have been able to get away with the tent, even though it was only for one night. Tent was great even in the heavy rain we had the next morning (no leaks). Glad we bought the canopy as well (its huge) and provides us with so much more space. Did have a few spectators while putting it up and taking it down.

Looking forward to getting away in it for longer.

Just got back from an incredibly wet and windy bank holiday weekend at Conwy Touring Park and we are well chuffed with this tent and the side extension. It stood up brilliantly to some severe winds (no more movement than a normal fibreglass pole tent)Nice and roomy inside, 2 double airbeds fit in both main bedrooms, we didn't use the third bedroom. The extension to us is a must have, creates so much more extra space for cooking and eating/sitting out. We purchased the Tigris 600 footprint as the infinity one isn't available till July and although marginally bigger, you wouldn't know it was for a different tent. Incredibly easy to pitch, I did it myself - footprint, tent and canopy up and pegged/guyed in around 30 minutes! and that was the first time it had been out of the bag! All in all a fabulous tent, although pricey, for the convenience factor, its well worth the money

Just purchased and used one of these tents (Infinity 600). Whilst pleased overall with the tent, there are a couple of points which I am NOT happy with - especially with the £650 purchase price.

Firstly - there is a pegging out point missing from one end of the tent. Although not missing from one of the corners, this is obviously a manufacturing omission, but does not affect the stability of the tent. Have pitched in strong winds this week, and the tent suffered no effects.

Secondly, there are many 'snags' and 'pulls' in the mesh fabric of the two entrance doors. Once again, these are hardly noticeable, and don't distract from the appearance of the tent - but should not be obvious on such an expensive tent.

Overall - a brilliant tent, easy to pitch (and take down & pack away), good quality otherwise, stable in the wind, totally waterproof (it also rained heavily), and we are generally pleased with our purchase.
