I was very sceptical about buying this tent after reading all the reviews.I spoke to outdoor world who said that if I followed the new instructions to only inflate to 3 psi I would have no issues.
I pitched this tent on my own (which believe me is amazing as I was not allowed near our old tent in case I broke the elastic in the poles again!). It was effortless and all in took me about 30 mins.
Its been up in the very heavy rain and wind and still standing exactly as I pitched it.
I am positively thrilled with it. Brilliant idea!

Thought the following would be useful - sent to me by Yeomans from Vango - apparently they are aware there is a problem and have found that a lot of the seam leak/burst beam problems have been caused by over inflating the beams - the latest advice for the entire Infinty range is to inflate to 3psi NOT 5psi, the add a further puff or two if desired but under no circs to go above 4 psi.
They also say each beam is to be guided gently into an upright arch whilst inflating. Thanks to Yeomans who appear to have sent this info to all their customers.
I have used my infinity 800 once, in light rain, and luckily have had no issues (hence 10/10) BUT not tried it in torrential rain yet (!). I'm afraid it will be going back if it leaks despite the new pitching instructions - keeping fingers crossed!
Happy Camping all!

We were very excited getting this tent, it was doddle to put up and looked fab.
Unfortunately its down point is it leaked. 4 of the beams were swimming in water, toggles on 1 window were very wet but couldn't actually see the water coming in and there was spots of water coming through roof above 1 of the pods. 1 of the clips for anchoring the 4 berth pod down was missing but we could cope with that.
We didn't have any problems with beams deflating or damage with pump, just leaks.
As we camp in all weathers and regarding the price of the tent it was unacceptable and it was returned for a refund.

The build quality isn't very good for the money - we had several of the elastic peg loops snap on it's first outing. It leaks like a sieve and this was made worse as it ran under the carpet and bedrooms undetected at first. Contrary to the email from Vango below, the side canopy does not have a sewn in groundsheet. The pump broke the first time we used it but I managed to repair it enough to get the tent up.
Having said all that, it's very easy and quick to put up and take down and is very stable in high winds. We will continue to use it and hope for dry weather.

UPDATE . Thought I would do a secondary review after a long weekends camping with wind and torrential rain, along with lovely sunshine too - so the full spectrum!
Tent has been perfect! Repaired puncture it had from first outing and tent remained perfectly solid, no leaks despite torrential rain for over 12 hours.
Cannot really find fault with it at all, love everything about it.
Its an amazing tent if you get one thats not faulty, for us well worth the money. Hope the next batch sent out for new buyers give more reliability than this first batch and enable more happy customers like me.

We very daftly went out and bought a Airbeam 800 without reading any reviews, there simply wasnt that many out there to read as they were so new. I've since read a few and hear the problems people have had. Whilst I've not used yet I do have it up in the back garden and all I can say its still up and rigid and no leaks .And I've thrashed it with a hose pipe in all the weak points (windows doors etc) and the tent has remained dry, and so it should at nearly a grand with a awning.
What I will say if for that money there are quality issues, nothing more than attention to detail and improved materials. The idea is almost perfect however my advice is wait for the mk 2 version.

I have just returned from work 23.30 and found my new Vango tent half collapsed. I pitched it a few days ago in my back garden to make sure all was ok as some of the reviews were negative. It went up with ease but this evening the front beam had deflated which left the tent at an angle that allowed the wind to pass through the bottom part of the door effectively making it in to a giant balloon which in turn loosened the guide ropes. The wind is very strong tonight and I have only just managed to take the tent down on my own in the dark, wind and rain. From reading other reviews there are some serious flaws with this tent. It also leaked when it rained the night before last. I will be having a few telephone conversations on Monday morning with Vango and the stockist from whom I purchased the tent.

Received our 800 Airbeam and side canopy after reading the reviews so far and was worried. Decided to go away the same weekend - with rain forecast.
Pitched the tent (me and a girlfriend - hubbys were home) in 20 minutes (toilet break included!) felt like we were being watched by everyone on the site. Went up so easily, middle beams pumped up first, then on to the outer ones. Pegging down took its usual time and canopy was up easily too. I reckon it cut our total set up time in half.
I like the darker style of the tent inside, and love that the bedrooms are dark for the night. Lots of pockets everywhere and toggles for lights in the roof. I like the way there are 2 double pods that can be erected separately - our last tent didnt have that. Gives us the option of using the 2 joined doubles one end as a big double for us and a single double the other end for the kids and still have lots of living space.
Side Canopy a really good size easily able to fit our table and chairs, cooking stuff, sunchairs etc in, with a sloping door - not my favourite - I prefer a square canopy front but hey ho.
Poured with rain that night and all the next morning, not a leak in sight but one of our poles did deflate with a puncture which the OH is repairing now we are home. The deflation didnt affect the tent really at all as the other beams were rocksteady and maintained the structure.
One tip is to make sure you have enough puncture repair kit with you for a couple of punctures just in case and as soon as the pump gets hard work don't ever over inflate - I think thats what I did on this beam.
Taking it down . Well this was a joy! Unpeg and just unscrew the valves and its down instantly and packed away in I would guess less than 10 minutes.
All in all - love it! We didnt get the problems others have had, the only problem we did encounter I may have caused and we can repair like a bike puncture. With the canopy there's loads of space. Very happy.

As others have mentioned the coloured tabs in ours are back to front. The 4 berth section has the centre rear clip missing and the front centre clip is completely different to all other? The two berths are too small and the rear yellow elastic is at full stretch. Ours also leaked and dripped from the window toggles. Two of the valves will not stay in by themselves and need a second person to hold in place while inflating. And finally the the bag is too small for the tent to packed away easily. If anyone from Vango reads this then try and defend 43 yrs of tent experience and still making a bag too small!
On the plus side it was nice and taught, easy to pitch and didn't need any additional air after 5 days.
Would I want another one and run the risk of getting a dud. No thank you.
Given a score of five for the plus points.

I purchased the Airbeam 800 26th May and went to Barmouth 31st May for 3 nights. Putting up the tent was very easy until we tried to erect the bedrooms and found the colours on the bedroom did not match the inner so it was trial and error! There was lots of snagging on the mesh on the windows, which I feel should not be on a brand new tent! There was also a pegging point missing from one end of the tent. The middle beam kept on deflating, despite being the correct pressure (although the tent stayed up despite this) and we had to reinflate it morning and night. The entrance material is very high so easy to trip over when entering/leaving the tent and the zip kept getting stuck in the fabric when opening and closing. The concept of this tent is brilliant, however the quality of manufacture does not match the very inflated (pun) price! I feel that this was probably rushed out for the bank holiday without proper quality control testing! I have contacted world of Tents (also known as Outdoor world) were I purchased it. They only have a Monday to Friday opening as it was purchased online so I await their response to my comprehensive email first thing Monday. Overall I expected a higher quality and better finish for the very high cost of this tent
UPDATE: This is an update of this review. I returned my airbeam to WORLD OF TENTS in Warrington, with a comprehensive statement of the faults. They took my complaint seriously and said this was very unusual for a Vango Product. I informed them of other reviews. After several phone calls I received a full refund on to my credit card and an apology it had taken a week. 10 out of 10 for customer service. When I decide what tent to buy next I will certainly consider using them again.
