Bought as our first proper family tent and am very impressed. I am 6'5' tall and can freely walk about inside which was a luxury. For such a large tent is relatively easy to erect with 2 people and withstood 36 hours of rain and high winds very well. Very flexible interior layouts with multiple entrances and room configurations. Definitely recommend the carpet for the added insulation and comfort. We also used the extension which was fantastic for the extra space, however was not quite so resistant to the wind and we felt the need to take it down to prevent damage when it got windy.

Excellent tent - very good in the wind and the rain - have also purchased an extension which gives you that extra space needed. Love the flexible rooms and we have also bought the carpet which really keeps it warm in the evening. I absolutely love my tent and would recommend to anyone in the market for a new one. Easy to put up with built in ground sheet.

Used for 1 week in Devon and 2 weeks in Belgium. The tent is really spacious with flexibility in the arrangement and use of pods. We used for 5 of us and found unlike our previous tent there was lots of room in the central area for a table and chairs during bad/cold weather. With extra bedroom space we could also use a bedroom pod/area for storage. We did not have any manufacturing problems with the main tent, however we did with the extension tunnel we purchased. This was quite difficult to fix over the main tent, and split along the seam almost immediately. We had the extension replaced for our second adventure. The extra space it gives is great for storing cooking equipment. It is also a buffer for wet clothes and shoes during inclement weather, to prevent the main tent becoming wet and mucky. The way the extension flap fitted over the main tent was strange in that the edges did not seem to fit or stay over the poles. One side would stay over and the other would slip off onto the main tent. During heavy rain, large puddles would build up on the main tent where the extension part was secured over the top. The extension is perhaps not suitable for extremely severe weather conditions.

We purchased this tent with the footprint, carpet and tunnel extension. I must say what a fab tent, its very spacious there were 9 of us all staying in the 8 man tent a month ago although two were babies.
There is plenty room in the living area for everyone to sit around on large chairs if the weather outside isn't too good, the extension come in really handy for extra storage space. Its very easy to erect and two can do it in about 40 mns. The Vango TBS come in handy last week as it become extremely windy and we could see another campers sun canopy bending to the ground: our tent stood the test.
The separate sleeping pods are great and my daughter accommodated the far end of the tent in her own pod leaving my husband and myself having the use of the double with the divider rolled back.
I cant fault the tent at all, I am hoping to get at least 5 yrs out of it but I will most definitely purchase another Vango Tigris providing they are still being made.

Just to add some help to those who are having trouble with the eyebrow canopy poles. Vango advised us to put the poles in when the tent was up but NOT tightened up and with that door open - this helped slightly but it was still a bit tight. I used a hacksaw with a very fine blade on it and cut 1.5cm off the central pole. This has solved the problem.

Not a bad tent. Certainly big enough for our family; love the flexible pods!
Very stable in breezy weather with the Vango TBS thingy. The SIG meant very few draughts, so were were quite cosy. Can't comment on rain proofing as we always seem to dodge the rain.
Easy to pitch/strike.Even in windy weather.
The bad points with the 2010 model we noticed have already been covered in previous reviews, but the one that bugged me was the canopy bow poles seemed to be be either too long or the wrong shape as it distorted the door making it hard to zip.

Found this tent to have plenty of room inside. We have used it for 3 adults, 3 children and a dog without problems.
Recently went away as a 2+2 family and left the double bedroom out and used the space as the kitchen and storage area.
Bought the tunnel extension as used this on the side when we were full up.
TBS system adds to stability and stood up to some strong winds even though I had forgotten to peg down the side poles!
Quality Control is it's only downside:
The zip on one of the double bedroom door had been sewn across so the door wouldn't fold away.
The string holding the toggle on the other single bed came away after the first use.
The toggle on the bottom of the hanging divider which has pockets in it came away after second use.

Wonderful tent lots of room, kids love each having their own bedroom. It is light and airy inside lots of headroom when standing. The only downside to this is the pitching, I find inserting the poles rather difficult and fear breaking them. Maybe this will improve the more times I put it up. I can fully erect this complete with the internal pods in less than an hour.

I searched long and hard for the right tent and finally settled on the Tigris 800. We loved the space inside and the pods as many different friends and family would be joining us on camping trips. On the first weekend we noticed 2 small holes at the seams and we flagged it to the attention of our camping shop. Agreed a replacement - long drawn out process but in the end Vango stepped up and replaced the tent free of charge and even with a newer model. Really looking forward to trying out the 2011 model! Didn't find the early morning light too much of a problem, nor my 3 yr old who slept until 8 each day! Easy to erect and to dismantle although I would say nearer an hour. Dries out quick after rain too. Highly recommend for a family or for set of friends.

On first opinion this tent had everything we wanted, large living area, large bedroom with plenty of storage for us parents, then two separate rooms for the kids (we are a family of 4) with room for their air bed and storage. We loved the layout. It was very easy to put up. We also brought the tunnel extension for it.
But sadly it did not live up to our expectations, reasons below:
* Two of the tension bands split, which we did sew back up.
* during rain we had leaks from seams, especially on the window seams. Which we then treated with seam sealant.
*the little canopy developed a tear on a seam, which could not be repaired, although this is not part of the main body of the tent.
So we were quite disappointed with the quality, and have since replaced this tent. Although I would hope that more recent models would be better.

Manufacturer's Description
The Vango Yukon range of tents has been replaced by the Vango Tigris range - which in turn are very similar to the Nevada Range already produced by Outwell. The Tigris has a very simple 5-pole fiberglass pole structure but one that gives great head height and therefore one that gives a light and airy feel. There are also flexible bedroom arrangements and storage options a plenty plus three entrance options. The tent frame is constructed with Powerflex fiberglass poles, a Protex 3000 Polyester flysheet (3000mm hydrostatic head protection) and as is the norm these days, the groundsheet is fully sewn-in to keep out unwanted pests and draughts. The other key features of the tent include a waterproof exterior storm skirt, flysheet first pitching, 2+2+4 (with divider) sleeping compartments, colour coded poles, TBS tension band system for extra strengthening in adverse weather, 10,000mm HH internal polyester groundsheet, cable entry point and tidies, mesh double doors, mesh vents, pelmet and inner tent pockets, 'Crystal Clear' windows, double zip windows (for vent/light/cover flexibility), breathable fabric inner tent, inner tents and divider can be removed when not in use, parallel zipped front door can be used as a sun canopy, canopy over side door, rain gutter zip covers. Saddle bag and repair kit included. Flame retardant throughout.
