Just come back from 1st weekend camping in this tent at Robin Hoods Bay, Whitby. Winds were incredible I expected the tent to fold, but thankfully it with stood the pressure, only damage was the centre fibre pole the elastic cable snapped. The main reason for this post is:- The pressure on the canvas by the steel posts is nearly ripping the stitching and I had to unclip the tent at high level from the posts. All previous posts report the same fault and have cut parts down. Please advise which parts and by how much.
Finally great weekend we have not been put off and will be going again

We didnt have a practice run we just bought the tent and went camping I found the middle pole that runs inside the tent was very tight but luckily I read the review that Captain kipper wrote so I took a hacksaw and removed about 4 inches from the fibreglass pole after that it erected quite easily.

This our first tent and have never been camping before as a family. We first tried it in the garden and ran out of room quickly, so packed it back up and tried it in a bigger garden. The instructions are vague and after 3 tries we managed to erect the tent although it is definitely a 2 person job. It's really hard with 2 little boys running around trying to get in, but we'll find out for real at the weekend as we are heading off for 3 nights at Golden Square near Helmsley in Nort Yorkshire.
The best way we found was to erect the green roof poles and side poles one set at a time and then run the yellow ones and side poles. We have also found the tents design very tight and hard to pin in the side poles, mainly the green ones. I'm also thinking about cutting a few inches off the roof poles to ease the tension.
I'll let you know how we get on with the tent and the site.

Our first Family tent, not bad quality and quite easy to errect after a couple of practice goes.
We did find that some of the poles were too tight and had problems getting the poles to fit, after shortening 2 of the poles it became easier, but still a little tight,
I wouldn't say it was a 5 person tent, more like a 3.
2 people in the main bedroom and 1 in the second.
It would be nice to add a porch so will be looking into this soon.
We paid £270 locally but can be found cheaper online.
