This is a super big tent, it has 4 separate rooms but these rooms can be unzipped and made into 2. There is a zipper for posting electric cables through and pouches for storage. The living area is very large and you can stand up in all bedrooms as well as the living area.
The tent is very easy to pitch with all poles the same length but 2 people are required to stabilise it until the guy ropes are up.
The quality of the tent is ok but we don't believe it will last many years and have had several problems with the elastic holding the poles together breaking, I was told that this is due to how the tent was stored in branch but wasn't offered additional poles to replace mine.
The bag with the poles is VERY heavy but the other bag is reasonable and if packed properly it all fits back into the bags easily.
There is good ventilation which can be altered to suit needs.
Would I buy another the same - yes because the layout is the best I've found.

WOW!
This was only our 3rd camping trip ever, previous 2 occasions we had a 1500hh tent we purchased from Halfords (which was also fab), but due to the unpredictable Scottish weather we decided to go for the Kalahari 10 with footprint and carpet when it was on special offer in Go-Outdoors, as it was a 3000hh.
We bit the bullet after 1 week of the school holidays and decided to go to Peebles. We arrived on the Monday lunch time just as the rain started, although I am sure it was raining there well before we arrived. It took four of us about 45 minutes to pitch the tent. It rained until late on the Wednesday evening and the tent held out remarkably well as there were some pretty hefty showers, a few pools of water gathered on the roof of the tent however not drop came in.
I would honestly say the footprint made a huge difference to help both pitching the tent and keeping us drier underfoot. We tried to purchase the porch but no to avail as they have sold out, however with the weather as it was I would definitely recommend.
We got a great tent at a great price - just waiting on the heatwave so we can have another few days away.

Very very pleased with our holiday warehouse, upgraded from a Coleman tri-space 6 which was a good tent but in the kalahari you can stand up pretty much everywhere and it has so much space even with 4 kids under 6 and all the kit,we are heavy weight campers so we take every thing and still room to spare. Extra porch is a must for cooking and fridge and stops wet getting trailed into main tent.
Water tight, it recently survived the may bank holiday downpours, one lasted over night for almost 12 hours and not 1 drop got in unbelievable.
Now the bad, only one thing, the vents along each side whilst being ideal when its warm, at Easter 2012 it dropped below freezing and these vents are impossible to seal closed and when windy they flap in the breeze. Any ideas?
This tent is easy to put up with footprint and I can almost do it on my own in about 30mins. The outside goes up enough to get out of rain very quickly indeed and then you can complete inside without a rush.
This is a great tent and as yet I have not seen the same amount of space for the same money from any other manufacturer.

This tent certainly stands up to all weathers, one night at an Easter break force gale winds heavy rain lashed down onto the tent and porch, both were still standing in the morning. One of the straps came undone on the porch (which had longer straps on it suggested by one of your members which made it so much easier to find in the middle of the night) It is a fantastic tent that I would recommend to any family thinking of getting one.

We upgraded to the Kalahari 10 from a Voyager 6 when it came on offer at Go Outdoors, we got the carpet, footprint and porch too. The footprint is great for protecting the underside of the tent itself on wet/muddy pitches and it gives you a good guide to siting the tent on the pitch before you commit to pegging the tent itself down if you have to reposition. The carpet really enhances the tent IMHO, much nicer to walk on than grey plastic. Porch is very useful for cooking in the rain and keeping wet and dirty kit out of the main tent.
This tent is HUGE. Plenty of room for us, 2 adults and 6 & 8 year old kids. We sleep in one half of the tent and the other side we keep or kit in, partition down we set the camping toilet up in there at night for emergency wee duty, we have weak bladdered kids.
Despite its size it's still easy to erect, 25 mins with the two of us saw it up first time, we have that down to 20 mins now with practice.
We went camping in Vendee last summer for three weeks and this setup was perfect for us. However on night 4 the zip on the main door failed, it came off its track and we couldn't secure it or get it back on the track. Luckily we had the porch and it caused us few problems, gaffer tape to the rescue. On returning home we took the tent back to Go Outdoors expecting them to have it fixed but no, they just gave us a brand new tent there and then. Can't fault their customer service. On our last night we had a really severe gale come in off the Bay of Biscay, the tent stood up magnificently to this but the porch came adrift. The wind got under the flap over the tent top and managed to dislodge the pegs and cause the porch to collapse. There was no fault with the tent or porch though, the site was very sandy and the pegs had very little grip in the soft ground. I should have used broad flat pegs instead of rock pegs.
Highly recommend this tent and the after sales service at Go Outdoors.

Love this tent.
Its easy to put up, and really spacious. We(2adults, 3 kids, 1 dog)fitted into it with plenty of space. The living area is easily big for a table and chairs, plus the usual fridge/cupboards etc. Add in the carpet (makes a huge difference- do buy the carpet) and you have a very comfortable place to spend an hour an hour or two.
The internal pockets are genius, filled very quickly with kids bits, biscuits, head torches etc.
Hardly stopped raining for our holiday, but no leaks.
Porch was very handy for wet gear storage.

Bought ours last year under the offer at go outdoors. Porch, tent, carpet and footprint for around £340. There are 6 of us using the tent 2 adults and 4 kids. Have used the tent once and it lashed it down, and was quite windy, tent stood up to all that was thrown at it. We have our second outing in 2 weeks.
Very roomy inside, with plenty of space for a double airbed in both sides of the bedroom compartments. The living area is huge and does not feel cluttered even with all 6 of us in there.
Tent was easy to put up, takes 20 mins - 30 mins with two of you, had more problems with the porch than the tent.
Highly recommended if there are a few of you and you like your space. We had a horizon 6 before this one, and the tent does feel a lot more secure when pitched. Keep an eye on the prices, they often have this tent on offer with all the associated bits and bobs, really at this price you can't go wrong.

Really pleased either the tent (which we bought along with the porch, footprint and carpet) . May seem ott for two adults and two kids but it means the youngsters can each have their own room and the remainder 2 berth room can be used for storage (ask junk).
Served us well this week when we used it for the first time the week and more than happy with it.

We bought our kally last year having owned a sahara three pod tent which was great but took an age to put up. The children have tried it in the garden and thought it was great, there is so much space and we also bought the porch at the same time so that is even more space as we take every thing with us including the dog, we are looking to get the carpet and footprint as a lot of people have recommended them, so heres to a good summer and many evenings sat in some camp site drinking a good glass of wine or beer and chilling out!

Fantastic. We got an absolute bargain, tent, porch and carpet £385. We are yet to holiday in it but have pitched it in the garden and it took 20mins! Easy. You'd be mad not to get this tent in the sale.
We are a family of 4 so will have an abundance of space to use. Our previous tent was an Eurohike Buckingham 8. We thought that one was room lol it seems like a little 2man one now. Like I said fantastic. I couldn't rave about it enough. X

Manufacturer's Description
An updated version of Hi Gear's extra large tunnel tent, perfect for relaxed family camping holidays.
The Hi Gear Kalahari 10 Elite is a spacious and stable tunnel-style tent with two large partitionable bedrooms in a face-to-face layout, roomy enough for you, your family and all your gear.
Pre-attached high-visibility guylines, reduced pole sleeves, and sewn-in polyethylene groundsheet make pitching the tent quick and easy.
The bedrooms comfortably sleep five at each end of the tent, and have breathable polyester walls. Bedrooms can also be removed, to give you extra storage space, or room for dirty gear.
The huge living space has two large windows and hanging storage pockets to help keep it tidy, organised and liveable. Multiple vents along the roof help air flow throughout the tent.
The sewn-in groundsheet combined with the fire-retardant polyester flysheet (with 4000mm hydrostatic head) give you a fully sealed and ventilated internal environment, so you'll be completely protected from draughts and sustained downpours. The two doors can be propped and extended out to use for extra shelter from rain or stretching the space out for more room if it's sunny.
Other useful features include the water-repellent zips and an electrical cable access point.
