This is my first tent review but I feel I need to write about the air beam, we picked up the tent 26/05 and went away 27/05 ,got to camp site and all was well, the 800 went up like a dream, looked good and was rigid in windy conditions, then we tried to put in the bedrooms! all colour coded backwards and when I tried to put a Vango double airbed in one of the double bedrooms it would not fit! so we had to take the flimsy 4 berth partition down and use the whole of that room for our double bed, the 2 separate bedrooms had a big ugly gap through the middle because the bedrooms again imo were too small!next, the door mesh had a 2' hole in it, and the other door had small holes in it which over time would turn into larger holes,

When I put the canopy up it was breezy and it was like a sail! I managed to peg it down but the roof part would just slide across the tent, after trying and trying I got it positioned properly and pegged it all out only to find one of the doubled up lashing points was not stitched in and was coming away, also where the roof of the canopy hit the roof of the tent it wrinkled the tent fabric which caused channels of rain to pour into the canopy! also the ground sheet for the canopy was a pathetic piece of tarpaulin which pegged out in the corners, not a bath tub style which it should be at this price point!this airbeam should have been made off the maritsa tent not the tigris 800. All in all this is an excellent idea flawed by rushing the tents through for the bank holiday, this is an email I received from Vango/// Hi,

Thanks for your mail.

All the Air beam tents have been wind tunnel tested under the same conditions that we test all our tents.

The tents have proved to be stable and secure up to 75 mph, however it is unlikely that you will experience these kinds winds when the tent is in actual use.

The side canopy does indeed have a sewn in groundsheet.

Hope this is of use.

Regards

We were very happy when we managed to purchase this tent and canopy a day before our hols! We pitched the tent in high winds really well it had loads of space for a family of five which we were really happy with, the canopy took a bit more effort but the winds were high and that went up quite well, the canopy was a brilliant plus added so much more space for us, however when it rained everything leaked, the windows in the tents the main middle beam a puddle was created on the floor, the water was coming through the floor the beam next to it

Also had a smaller amount of water, the canopy the skirt of the seams water poured through also the two main zips, Vango are now going to repair our tent which we are unhappy with after paying out so much money.

I took the Vango 800 with side canopy away for the bank holiday weekend, the unit went up really easily, but the following morning two of the poles had deflated, I re inflated them an tightened the vents and they stayed up, the following day it was cold all the poles stayed up and the pressure was 5psi as per instructions. We then went out for the day and on return the main pole was deflated ,and the inside of the tent was very hot. On checking the pole we found that the inner and the outer tube had exploded leaving a 8 to 10inch tear in the pole, this was replaced from one in the side canopy (10 minute job). The following night it rained persistently and the following morning there where pools of water in the tent and the tent inners and the contents were all wet. The tent will be returned to Vango, the concept is brilliant but the actual goods (in My Case) did not live up to expectations.

Just managed to get my hands on my Infinity 800 and it's ace. Easy to pitch, stood up to the Bank holiday weather and I'm looking forward to campsite hopping in the up and coming months. The tent is provided in a trolley bag which makes it easy to transport from a trailer or vehicle if parking is not available next to your pitch. My wife is heavily pregnant at the moment and with a two year old son only available to help with pitching the tent the Infinity is a piece of cake. I am waiting to take delivery of the side canopy so will update you campers in due course.

Manufacturer's Description

Going away with your family and friends, you want to get on with the serious business of enjoying yourself as soon as possible. Pitching your tent could not be easier or quicker than with the Infinity and AirBeam technology. This tent can be put up in minutes, with Vango’s patented TBS®ll system for additional stability in windy conditions. The AirBeam Infinity will bring a whole new level of enjoyment to your Vango camping experience.

No pole AirBeam creates a strong and rigid tent structure combined with a rapid, simple pitch. Peg the corners of the tent into place and then inflate the AirBeams using the Vango AirBeam pump (Supplied) and the tent will pitch itself! Double valves allow rapid inflation and deflation.
