We've just come back from our first trip in our new Maritsa 700 and the overall verdict is it's a FAB tent!
It's very roomy, the living area is huge, we had 3 chairs, a table, and one of those tables with 4 stools attached in the living area and there was still plenty of space to walk about.
Putting it up was fairly straightforward, we followed the advice from other reviewers on here and started at the back, putting up one arch at a time and then going round and pegging/guying it out.
It was quite breezy overnight as we were a stones throw away from the North Sea, but it was rock solid, I felt much more secure in it than I did our previous fibre glass poled vis a vis tent.
The bedroom inners were plenty big enough for our needs - there are 3 of us, so me and hubby shared the large pod, there was ample room for 2 camp beds with space between to get in and out of bed. Our son used the end pod and we used the middle one for clothes/storage and the kampa khazi. I love the dark inners.
The porch is plenty big enough for our needs too, we had the kitchen stand in there, a large table, the cool box, the kitchen box and shoes etc.
We have the carpet and footprint too, all in all I can thoroughly recommend this tent, it's the first time I've camped and not had tent envy!
Putting it down was a bit of a challenge, but it wasn't helped by the stiff breeze - it kept billowing up like a huge balloon and we had to keep weighing parts down with the pole bag, peg bags etc etc so we could get it back in the bag.We got there in the end!
The only slight criticism I can think of is the quality of the pegs - lots have bent, despite the ground not being particularly hard, especially the v shaped ones, we'll need to get some more before we go away again next week. Also there must be some toggles missing from the bath tub groundsheet at the front of the porch as we couldn't see how we could toggle it up? But it's not a huge problem, we'll use some sticky velcro to sort it - far easier than taking it back for something so minor. If it wasn't for those 2 things I would have given it 10/10

We have the Maritsa 700 2011 model, and its been brill, we have now purchased the porch for it, it provides so much extra space. We use the porch to put all the kitchen stuff in, it comes with a ground sheet (not a SIG). Well worth it, with having the grandchildren, and a dog. Easy to put up, only a small bag so does not take up much space in the car.

Absolutely love this tent. Upgraded to get more space for longer holidays further afield and wow, we certainly have more space. We only use the double bedroom so loads of space to spread out. Doggie loves it as it's more like being in a proper room. Kitchen area is good. We've added stick-on Velco to the door to make it more adjustable.
The review by Mitch Dale on the best way to put it up it spot on. Muck easier than the 'Vango way'.
All in all a very good tent. Just been discontinued but if you can pick up a secondhand one, do so. But, why would anyone be selling one?

This is my third review of the Maritsa and thought I'd detail how I've managed to get the poles and pins in as I'd really been struggling on the four or so occasions beforehand.
I think I also read this method on a review here (many thanks) but thought I'd emphasise as I was really considering scrapping the tent as it was daunting putting it up. Therefore;
1. Roll out and peg front of tent only
2. Open all doors
3 Make sure straps released (though could probably do it without releasing them too much)
4. Start poles from the front on the ground
5. Push the fabric round and when each pole is in point the arch towards the front of the tent (theres no real explanation of how to get the pins in the poles as they just easily went in without huffing and puffing)
6. Roughly lay each pole on top of the previous one
7. When all poles are in stand the tent up (need two people at this point)
8. Peg a couple of guys at the front of the tent to give a bit of support
9. Shimmy the tent back (after closing the side doors)
10. Peg the rear for support
11. Check inside for level ground sheet etc
12. Peg out at poles and guys
It was an absolute doddle doing it this way and was so annoyed that we have struggled really badly previously!
Also, a further tip is to leave the bedrooms in when taking it down as it goes up with the bedrooms in place just as easy.
Even the last time we used it we got the tent, (and bedrooms), porch ground sheet and footprint all in the one bag!
Again, I'd open the doors before taking down so that its easier to pack and means that you don't have to open them when erecting it next time.
Also, rolling it twice helps to get more air out!
This has now hopefully saved a fortune on me buying an AirStream which would give me a fraction of the space of this tent and would only probably save myself another 15 mins as this was up in just over half an hour and would hope to better that next time.
Also, whilst giving the review I'd ask if anyone knows where to get a canopy or further porch extension from in the ocean blue colour as its the 2010 model.

This is a great tent and although I'm rating it 10 out of ten we did have to return our first Maritsa to Go Outdoors and it was exchanged with no quibble whatsoever. The first tent had white patches on the groundsheet where the waterproofing was missing and the carpet was faulty. We pitched it three times during our holiday and had no leaks or condensation til the final part of our trip when we had a small pool of water under the carpet, this may have been condensation as there was no obvious place it had leaked.
We have now used the replacement tent and it has performed perfectly. We are very glad we exchanged it as the replacement is definitely better quality. The flysheet has a rubberised feel on the inside which was missing on the first tent and the pole sleeves seem stronger and more generously cut. No issues with the groundsheet or carpet this time either. We had some wet weather and had no leaks or condensation whatsoever - very pleasing!
We love the layout and size of this tent - it is huge and very very sturdy. It does not flap in the wind at all. It is so well thought out with plenty of doors, windows, mosi nets, ventilation panels, hanging hooks, pouches for bits and bobs, 4 different EHU cable entry points (2 on each side, porch and living area), when we don't have the children we use the middle bedroom as a wardrobe using the hanging pole supplied. The large porch gives a spacious kitchen area and room for wet gear and shoes. This means the living area can be free of clutter and makes it a great space to relax in the evenings or when the weather is bad. Two big doors in the living area mean the tent can be kept at a comfortable temperature even on a hot day, with mosi nets closed the flies and bugs are kept out. The 3 man pod is a lovely big bedroom for the two of us and the 2 man pods are spacious for 1 child. Yes you could have seven sleeping in it but I think with gear as well it would be cramped, we think it is just right for a family of four in comfort.
Now we've put it up several times I would say the two of us would be pushed to put it up well in less than an hour. There is a fair amount of guying and pegging to do! We start at the back with the poles and work forward doing 'temporary' guying as we go to keep the poles upright and avoid straining the flysheet. It's easy to figure out the first time with colour coded poles too. If you take care to put it up nice and straight with all the doors closed then the doors end up being easy to open and close with no over-tensioning. We leave the bedroom pods attached and this saves 10 minutes on the set-up time.
To sum up this really is a fantastic tent, it works perfectly for us in terms of layout, space, quality and it's many useful features. Deserving of a ten out of ten and would highly recommend it.

Tent is fab & we love it.
Pros:
Space
Porch area can be opened up or kept closed
Mesh doors on 3 doors, 4th door is porch so no mesh
It felt cosy at night even though its a big tent
Plenty of ehu openings
Easy to erect, 40mins including guy ropes
Pods good size
Plenty of storage pockets
Cons only 1
Porch door could have done with more velcro/clips to keep the sig upright more when fully closed. This is only minor & I wouldn't change the tent cause of it.

We purchased this tent after owning the sahara 6 by hi gear. We wanted a tent with a porch area with groundsheet sewn in and a roomy living area. This tent ticked all the boxes. We have had 5 days in mixed weather and it didn't leak at all. It is heavier than our old one but with only 5 poles its quicker to pitch. We love it. We had 2 adults in the large pod on camp beds and had a storage unit in it as well. Very roomy. The 2 double pods are also great and the middle one can double up as a walk in wardrobe. The porch makes an excellent kitchen. The ground sheet at the door needs propping up so the draft stays out and the heat stays in. This would have been better with velcro or an extra clip. It wouldn't stop us buying it again though. Its a great tent an great value for money. Oh and its very light inside with large windows and curtains. The pods are black out pods so when the lights are on inside the tent no one can see shadows on the outside. Excellent tent. Can't wait to camp in it again.

Great tent! But has a few problems!
Just used it for the first time in Cornwall, it's a massive tent with big bedrooms, its great having mesh inner doors so when it gets hot inside you can cool it down fast without having unwanted bugs in the tent within seconds.
Few problems with it though, the tent leaked on the first rain we had but after that it seemed to of stopped apart from the odd one or two VERY small leaks, I believe Vango say that the tent may leak the first time then will seal it's self after it drys and won't leak again so be warned, putting it up.Iv had 3 family sized tents before this one and this has to be the hardest and longest to put up, the colour coded poles help but once there all in and ready to put up you really need 4 people to do it, it's heavy! Took 2 of us about an hour or more! If you have watched the Vango video on how to put this up then ignore it! There is no way in hell you are able to walk all the poles back together and walk them forward with 2 people and in a field and with kids and with a slight wind, the tent wants to fly in the slightest bit of wind when it's on the ground, once it's up though it's a great tent

We used our blue Maritsa for second time for a week in Cornwall, tent is brilliant for size and room, loads of room, but, rained really hard on the sunday, and one seam leaked so did the electric entry points, continued to leak even in light rain. Pole colour coding have some missing, and some of the fixings on inners have come off. Tent returned through outdoor experience, and given new tent, hopefully this one is better as it a lovely tent, pity it leaked.
But for space can't fault it but maybe there's a dodgy batch out there?

We have used our Maritsa 700 0n two occasions now, most recently for a week's stay in all weathers! We are very pleased with our tent. We have experienced some torrential rain and the tent has not leaked at all. Putting up the tent is a bit trickier than what we are used to. It takes a fair bit of strength and you really need 3 people to make it easier. We are finding it easier each time though and have been helped by helpful reviews!
The space inside the tent is fantastic. We have 3 young children (8,5 and 3), and don't feel at all hemmed in when the weather is bad.
The storage pockets inside he tent are very useful, as are the row of hooks which we use to hang the kids coats and jackets on.
The only downside that I can think of is the weight of the tent. The poles are extremely heavy. I am unable to lift the bag of poles. The weight does make the tent difficult to erect, but it does make the tent ultra sturdy in all weathers.
