After selling our touring van, we really missed the thought of weekends away and couldn't afford a new van. We saw a demo model of the Tig 600 at a fayre and bought online with footprint and carpet. So far so good. I was surprised to find I enjoy camping and this tent is really comfortable and easy to put up! We tried the kids in the 3rd bedroom at the end but the one nearest the outside got a bit damp as the skin was touching the outer tent. My husband and I slept at the other end without the flimsy partition and there was space for the bed, with room at each side and room for the bags and storage stuff at the end. With 2 double beds in the 2 bedrooms there's no room to 'roll out of bed'!
Plenty of headroom, one of the side doors lifts up with poles which we tend to use more.
We are going to buy a side extension in time for our week away in Cornwall. If we continue to enjoy our lovely tent we may take it to France next year! Easy to erect, plenty of room, nice and warm.Go for it, it's a brilliant tent.

A fine tent that is quite easy to erect and can house a family of four comfortably well.
The doors are a little tricky to open sometimes if your tent isn't on level ground, but not a real issue, also watch out for the ground sheet fasteners at the base of the doors, trip hazards for adults and children and can be easily ripped off if not careful.
We have the vango side extension adding extra storage which I would recommend. The tent as a whole should stand up to a family week away with minimum fuss but to me it's a great weekender.

This is a great tent and is a good choice if you're thinking of trying out camping for the first time. (It has been our first tent.) We don't have any kids so we didn't use the 2 man fix in bedroom at the front. Overall it has a fairly large living space, but as we've bought more and more kit we need a bigger tent now. The pockets which are fixed to the walls are really useful but as someone else has said, don't put too much heavy stuff in or the fixings will tear.
It's really easy to put up and take down. Once you've put it up for the first time it should only take you about 15 - 20 minutes each time after that.
Would have no problems recommending this tent. Great for weekends away.
If you are tall though - as we are - you struggle a bit when you move out of the main living area and you'll have to stoop a bit. Best to check out a demo model if you're not sure.

Just bought this tent. I also have a Colorado 600 DLX. The Tigris is by far easier to pitch. Especially since I do the job alone most of the time. Spacious. Good headroom. Very warm unlike the Colorado which I found to be somewhat draughty because of the independent ground-sheet. The two-man sleeping pod area of the Tigris could be increased, sacrificing a little bit of the main area. The side in the two-man pod tends to sag down. A clip to keep it from sagging down would come in handy. My two boys aged 12 and 10 had a ball in the 4-man pod. A ground-sheet under the SIG is a must. The purpose-made slots to place small items has flimsy anchorage. Do not overload as the points will tear under the weight. Overall a very well designed tent. Used it for one week in moderate sunny weather in Malta. Of course no rain. For sunny countries the fabric could be darker unlike places like the UK where sunlight is by far less and so a lighter fabric is needed.

This sounds awfully bigheaded, but we bought this tent for use at weekends and trips abroad. We have as our main tent a Sunncamp Palace which is huge, and because it's so big, we have filled it up with loads of equipment, which has required the need for a trailer. A trailer adds £££s to the cost of a Ferry to Europe, so we decided to invest in one of these Nylon Tubes! - Our impressions so far.Great!
We managed to pack the tent, tables beds and chairs into our Top-Box and trecked across Northern Europe, and never at any time did we feel short of living space, Why?.Because there is just myself, my wife and our 12 year old son. This Tent has a two twin bedrooms at one end and an optional twin bedroom at the other, which if you use, prohibits the use of the Zip up porch/Door. We opted not to put up the third bedroom, and this gave us an additional 30% extra living area.
We did buy and take the end extension that others have complained about, and we did use it when we were on a large pitch in france for a week or so. We didn't have any problems with it, but then again we didn't have any strong winds to contend with. In fairness to Vango, this extension is the same one for use with most of their range of Tunnel Tents, and as such it does have some compromising attributes. If it were designed specifically for the Tigris, it would undoubtably be a better fit, and the problems which others have faced may not have occurred. However, we found that having a massive 'sun lounge' on the front of our 'Blue Slug' was really nice, but it did mean that we needed an increradably long pitch area.
This year we have also bought the side extension, but as yet we haven't put it up yet.
It's a great little (big) tent, which is just the job for weekends and multi-stop touring, as it only takes about 15 minutes to put up. Top Tip.If you do get one of these, invest in a footprint groundsheet, it lets you get a good idea where the tent will end up, and it keeps the sewn-in groundsheet free from mud and goo!
In summary: This is an ideal tent to sling in the back of the car, and go away for the weekend in, and it has the options for expansion for those longer trips. In my opinion, it is well worth the money.
(There is a danger that we will be buying so many additions to this tent that we will be defeating the original object of reducing the space needed to pack all the bits and bobs into the car!)

We have had a Tigris 600 for just over a year now and find it fantastic, the living area is huge and is even bigger when the 2 man bedroom is not being used. We also purchased the large extension for the front which does give you even more space but sometimes I think its more hassle than its worth as it tends to pull the main tent down when fitted to front of tent.
I would defo recommend this tent to anyone, we have a two kids 13 and 8 and they love it. We are planning a weekend away in July with my brother and his girl with there son and maybe two dogs and we hope we are confident that all of us in the Tigris 600. If you don't have one go and buy one.!

The tent cold be made 10/10 for a few minor changes, but overall it was an excellent tent.
Biggest draw back was the extension tent which had the zipped closed door on the end. In windy conditions, it kept filling up like a balloon and blowing off the main tent. Various e-mails to Vango customer services have not met with satisfaction how to prevent this happening.

As a family of four (children 9 and 12) this tent is perfect for weekends away. We've already used it 3 times this year with no problems at all. Loads of space and headroom in both the main sleeping area and the living area which we once used to 'host' 8 people for a meal when the weather turned sour. Fully sewn in ground sheet makes a big difference. We haven't yet used the smaller sleeping area but think it could come in handy when we get a dog later this year! Very easy tent to pitch (just four colour coded poles) in around half an hour and no leakages in rain (there's been quite a bit!) Found the tent footprint useful as an additional extra but some friends have tried the extension and didn't get on with it at all. All in all a great tent for our purposes.

Have used our Vango Tigris 600 for 3 weekends since purchasing this year, and it's been exposed to it's fair share of heavy rain and wind already with no issues given it's a tunnel tent. There are 5 of us, the 2 boys (8 & 9) sleep in the pod and my wife and I sleep in the main bedroom with our 1 year old in a travel cot.
Overall we're pleased and it's ideal for weekends in terms of pitching time and space (our other tent is a huge Vango Diablo 900XP) but have a concern with the pole over the doorway, it puts a lot of stress on the door, it just seems to be simply too wide and is stressing the zip so much we have started to leave it out if the weather is dry and use the other door instead. Have also found it is hard to keep the flysheet from touching the 2-person bedroom with both the boys in there and getting wet, keeping the main doorway taut to keep it from touching will need some trial and error and maybe some modifications, we have found by not using the 3 roof toggles so that the bedroom drapes more loosely helps.
Despite these niggles we will be buying the side extension next year when it's released in our tent colour (sage) and would recommend it (with footprint and carpet) to others looking for a comfortable family tent for weekends.

Just had our first trip in this and was impressed, had already pitched twice in garden so this first 'proper' pitch went really smoothly. There are 5 of us so the bedroom pods work out well as our daughters are close in age and share a bedroom at home anyhow, and then the smelly teenager goes down the end in his own pod! We only intend to be weekend campers so this really suits us, however if I was planning on week or longer stays then perhaps I would go for the 800.
We had rain on our last night and had no leakages, some condensation but perhaps pegging out the vents next time will help, pitched again when we returned home to dry out completely and now it is packed away good as new. Both myself and my husband were very pleased with this tent, I do agree with the comment about pegs, especially the v ones, we have already bent a few of ours over and so intend to replace them.
All in all a very flexible tent, okay for 5 people, not sure about 6 as the end pod would be a real squeeze to accommodate 2 people, great for four people, or lovely and roomy for 2. No problems pitching, included dvd was helpful to watch before we even attempted it, being complete beginners, but now my husband and 13 year old son can easily pitch it between them.
