I took my Vango Vista 800 to Sykeside camp site near Brotherwater in Feb 2009. Never pitched this tent before so was a bit worried about how it would go once I got there.
Lay the outer section on the ground and stretch it out the way you want it to face once up.
Once you have put all the poles together its quite easy but you do need 2 people to put it up. All you do is thread the poles which are colour coded through the outer colour coded pouches, you can't go wrong.
When we arrived it was quite windy so we fully guy roped it up, there's quite a lot of rope so ensure you have done them all.
Once everything is secure you can start to put the bedrooms in, again all you do is thread the colour coded toggles through colour coded loops.
The tent once fully errected is very big and takes a lot of space up so you need to choose a good area with plenty of room.
The Inside of the tent is very spacious, we only put 1 bedroom up because there were only 2 of us, the rest of the tent was used as storage area's and our kitchen, even with 5 0r 6 people I reckon you'll have ample space for everything.
It got very wet and windy at night and we were a little afraid the tent would come down but our fears were unfounded as the tent never leaked or moved an inch, I guess all the guy ropes did the trick.
Only 1 downside and its to do with the packing once you manage to get the tent back home, we dried it out and cleaned it a bit but no matter how many attempts we had trying to get it back in the packing we couldn't do it, in the end we just folded it the best we could and left it.

I bought my tent from mitchells ccc outdoors in wakefield I paid £240 for it. I used it many times around the Yorkshire dales and Skegness. Twice for a weeks holiday with 8 of us the rest of the time with 4. I found it took around 20mins to up but I had the one without the sig and found the draughts at night a problem when sat with the family. The tent stood up well to a thunder storm and also one night when it rained for 12hrs solid. The tension bar system once fastened down made it a firm, rigid and secure tent in high winds. I would still be using it now but the kids have left and I have now downsized to a 2 man tent. So I don't have to take everything but the kitchen sink no more.

We've had our Vista 800 for a few years now, and it has never let us down. We deliberately bought a large tent even though we are just a family of 4, and find that the extra space really comes in handy in storing clothes, food etc. Our version does not have a sown in groundsheet, but we've found this to be an advantage in hotter weather as it allows for good airflow. This summer, took it to the Vendee again, and had a few nights of very high winds and masses of rain, but the tent stood up to it well. I used the tension band system, and this gives a degree of reassurance in feeling that the tent is anchored and bedded down. Would highly recommend it.

Recently bought this in the 'Go Outdoors' sales too - have to agree, what a bargain! Only used it once so far but really pleased with it. Was pretty easy to put up - only niggle would be the weight of it when packed up. Loads of space and love the sewn in groundsheet.

We bought this tent in the sale from go outdoors and paid £149 for it and what a bargain. We had previously bought a mercury 6 man tent from e-bay and while it was a good enough tent and did not leak unlike the rage/leben tents that others we know have, we kind of realised, you get what you pay for. Our bedrooms ripped, zips broke etc so we decided to buy a good decent one and cannot believe the difference in value for money. This tent is a brilliant size for a family, a lot bigger than our 6 man tent, it says it's an 8 berth but easily could fit 10+. It now has a sewn in ground sheet so no more drafts, very easy to put up, our first time took us only about 20 minutes. It is waterproofed inside and out, the windows have zippers on their covers not just velcro so no more flapping about and an increased sense of privacy to boot. The only thing we niggled about is its weight, it is a heavy tent no doubt about it but then you have that security of it will not blow away easily. Overall, we are very impressed with it and would definitely recommend this tent for families.

I have a Vista 800 with SIG.What was previously a good tent is now a great tent.Just as easy to put up and peg out. Also has the TSB system which helps with stability if used properly.A really good family tent and no issues with getting a pitch ,unlike some other large tents.

After owning a couple of tents I found the Vista 800 a brilliant family tent. There is ample living space and the bedrooms are generously sized. It stayed intact and fully waterproof in the high winds and heavy rain (which is always a good point when camping in the uk)
The only down side to this tent, and it isn't major, is the ease of which it is erected. It takes some time to thread the poles but once this is done the rest of the tent goes up quite well.

We have the older version the Vista 800 and have had many great holidays in it. It has enough space for our family of five and was big enough when our friends came making a total of nine in the tent. It has stood up to gales on the top of the cliffs in Cornwall and has not leaked even in the torrential rain. It is easy and quick to put up and take down. My only niggle with my tent is no SIG which is why the 8/10 as it can be draughty late or early in the season. But the latest version now has a SIG so I would recommend this tent.
