3 Reviews of the Airedale 5
By: Carolyn1 Reason: I own(ed) one Made in: 2019 Rating:
Having camped in pole tents for years this was our first venture into air. Front canopy is ideal for cooking in, sitting in and also ensures no rain enters the tent when entering and exiting which is a common problem with sloping front tents.
Inside we like the zip up curtains (much better that toggle up), storage pockets, velcro and loops for lighting and blackout bedrooms. The tent has lots of windows so it light and airy. The side door has mesh fly screen which is great for airflow on warmer days. We have used this tent in some bad rain and windstorms with no problem whatsoever.
Easy to pitch and at 23kg not too heavy as to be unmanageable or to take up loads of room in the car.
The intelligent airframe means that you know exactly how much to inflate and the beams auto adjust in warm weather. There is plenty of living space inside.
We love this tent and plan to keep it for many more years.

We bought this tent 2018, we have been camping for 18years in lots of different tents mostly Outwell. This tent is by far the best air frame is great could have airframe for canopy but is still OK. Tent is very airy and because front is flat plenty of living area you can also walk in without getting inside of tent wet, because of the the pourch the front of tent opens one third two thirds so in hot/or evening, bad weather you can sit inside tent and look out with door open. Also added a front extension for cooking plus inside roof blind which was great this year to keep the tent cool. We only use for two people good for 4 would recommend a airdale 6 if there is 5people but that's par for course with most manufacturers. Hope this review is useful this tent is almost perfect for us outdoor revolution deserve a ten

I was struggling with poled tents but didn't want to stop camping so thought an airbeam was the way to go. I wanted a spacious tent that wasn't too heavy and was easy to put up on my own and the OR Airedale 5 fitted the bill perfectly.
I can pitch this tent in 15-20 minutes and it is very stable. The bedroom pod can be divided with a clip in divider, the living space can comfortably accommodate a table and 4 chairs and the attached sun canopy gives you somewhere to cook safely or to sit in the shade. There is a large side door with fly mesh and the large window opposite has a zip up curtain. The front of the tent has 2 windows on either side of the door and the whole front can be folded back to really open up the tent on hot days. The one thing missing is a fly mesh on the front. Side and rear vents help reduce condensation.
I bought the extra cooking wind shield which attaches to the canopy and gives added shelter whilst cooking.
Personally I feel it would be a squeeze to sleep 5 people in this tent and see it as a luxurious solo/couples tent or as a tent for a small family with 1 or 2 children.
The airbeams have a lifetime guarantee and the intelligent valves mean you can never over inflate them and they can release air due to atmospheric changes.
I really like this tent as it is quick and easy to pitch and pack away (it goes back in the bag first time, every time), it offers comfortable bedroom and living space and the canopy offers shade and somewhere to cook.

Manufacturer's Description
The ''Airedale 5'' is a key tent in the Airedale range and is superb for weekends away for families, or longer holidays for couples as it provides a little more space, but without a dramatic increase in pack size or weight; the striking design is enhanced with the Hex Endure fabric, to give clean design lines with a technical look. The Airedale 5.0 is incredibly quick and easy to erect, with the assistance of the 3 Oxygen Air-Frame tubes, each with a Dynamic Speed Valve, and Outdoor Revolution’s patented Relief Valve, which safeguards against over inflation. The ample and incredibly versatile living space plus useful sun canopy, provides a superb base for memorable family holidays.
