1 Reviews of the Helium UL 1

By: Ewen c  Reason: I own(ed) one  Made in: 2017   Rating:

Excellent lightweight tent. Roomy for one, well made, strong and tall enough to sit up in. It does suffer the quirks of silnylon. You will have to tighten or loosen guy lines according to weather changes and it does get flappy in the wind. This is offset by internal guying and there is no danger of it falling foul of the wind. The stuffsac allows it to be literally stuffed in and compressed. Pitching is all in one and, unlike many other lightweight tents, the inner is not all mesh. The vestibule takes boots and cooking gear and there is room inside for an xl mat and a rucksack.

Downsides? The flappiness, lack of internal pockets and the need for complete accuracy in pitching. It doesn't like a squinty pitch.

Manufacturer's Description

Please note that the Helium UL 1 is a different model from the older helium 100

The Helium 1's hybrid tunnel design, ease of pitching and fully taped seams make this lightweight tent a welcome and reliable shelter. TBS® Pro and pre-bend poles offer exceptional stability, and vents allow for a through flow of air reducing any condensation build up. Extremely light weight and a compact pack size make the Helium ideal for short trips without compromising function or performance
