We bought one of these tents when Go Outdoors reduced them a few weeks ago-10 man was £50 cheaper than the 8 man version! So we finally got to put it up on Bank holiday Monday just gone at Windermere. Its a brilliant tent with loads of space in side. We only used 1 bedroom as we could get all 4 of us in it comfortably, so had the other end as complete living space. Its almost like a marquee inside (might rent it out for weddings). We used the velcro fastening over the middle to hang some gazebo lights. It looked so pretty in the dark. The tent took us about an hour to put up then about another hour to peg out properly and hang the inner bedroom, but we weren't rushing and this was the very first time out of the bag. We had some light winds that blew the tent but not enough to make it sway. This is probably the best tent I have ever been in, well worth looking out for in sales. I think you may be pushing it to use it as a 10 man tent, realistically, 6 or 8 would give you good living space.
Its well worth the money-go and buy 1!

Hi got this tent brand new from the manufacturer for £150 and it is blooming marvellous ! got to use it this weekend in Angle and cant fail it in any way ! I had 3 adults and 3 children in it as friends tent hadn't arrived yet , but will be used for myself and my 2 girls, plenty of room for us all. Went up in about an hour maybe longer to make sure pegs and ropes were all sorted. We pitched in a windy spot but the tent was going no where.
Very tidy with lots of vents to keep it aired which was good as it was boiling ! the sewn in groundsheet was fab couldn't have a tent without .One end of the bedrooms fitted my queen size bed and 2 single beds in it no trouble. I would deffo recommend this tent its exactly the same as the Gelert meridian 10 as that was the manufacturer I got it from only the name was changed to hi gear for the Go outdoors store !. If you want a large family comfortable good looking tent then this is the one and I plan on having many more trips in it .

This tent certainly stands up to all weathers, one night at an Easter break force gale winds heavy rain lashed down onto the tent and porch, both were still standing in the morning. One of the straps came undone on the porch (which had longer straps on it suggested by one of your members which made it so much easier to find in the middle of the night) It is a fantastic tent that I would recommend to any family thinking of getting one.

WOW!
This was only our 3rd camping trip ever, previous 2 occasions we had a 1500hh tent we purchased from Halfords (which was also fab), but due to the unpredictable Scottish weather we decided to go for the Kalahari 10 with footprint and carpet when it was on special offer in Go-Outdoors, as it was a 3000hh.
We bit the bullet after 1 week of the school holidays and decided to go to Peebles. We arrived on the Monday lunch time just as the rain started, although I am sure it was raining there well before we arrived. It took four of us about 45 minutes to pitch the tent. It rained until late on the Wednesday evening and the tent held out remarkably well as there were some pretty hefty showers, a few pools of water gathered on the roof of the tent however not drop came in.
I would honestly say the footprint made a huge difference to help both pitching the tent and keeping us drier underfoot. We tried to purchase the porch but no to avail as they have sold out, however with the weather as it was I would definitely recommend.
We got a great tent at a great price - just waiting on the heatwave so we can have another few days away.

Just returned from another holiday in our kalahari 10. Spent a week in Norfolk and had the full range of weather. I have rated the tent before but can now add that the tent is outstanding in strong winds. Not sure if the wind speeds last Thursday but looking at news reports many people suffered from them on their camp sites. Although our tent 'flexed' somewhat, it remained intact and had no leaks from the driven rain. Whilst all this was going on six children slept soundly in the pods while four adults had a very sociable evening in the living area.
An outstanding tent.

This is the second tent we have had from hi gear . The tent is very spacious when up . Quite straight forward to put up . Stayed in the tent in a nasty down pour and wind and it was still very comfy. We share this with another couple and their little one (2) and my self and our 2 kids (5) (8) and it is big enough. Watch out for them in sale we got ours for 220 the day after they were back up to 500, so think we got a bargain.

We purchased one of these tents earlier in the year and have to say we are very impressed. They are extremely spacious with plenty of room for everyone to sleep comfortably and plenty of living space too. We camped in the early summer and had really bad weather a couple of days but there was not a problem with the tent it kept us all warm and dry. Would definitely recommend to anyone looking to purchase a tent

We bought this tent from a firm that takes back returns on e-bay. Start price 99p. We won the bidding and paid £70+ postage. It came with a spare set of poles and the large canvas bags. Everything looked new. The description on e-bay said slight fault. The only fault we found was some stitching on one end guy rope, had come undone. This formed the loop to fit tent peg in and was soon sewn up.
We camped in Devon last year, 2012. It was in the middle of our so called summer. We had a lot of wind and rain but the tent held up to all sorts of weather. We also managed to find a porch on e-bay. This didn't hold up so well. We returned from a trip out to find that one of the metal poles on the porch had bent so bad in the wind that it had to be scrapped (managed to track down a replacement pole, again on e-bay) Yet all the fibre glass poles on the main tent were fine. We had quite a lot of people on the campsite asking about our tent and were surprised at how large it was inside. So much room, we used one of the small bedrooms as a toilet. Very handy in the middle of the night.
We tried another camping trip a few weeks later in Gloucestershire. The weather was better for a few days then more rain. Tent was fine and much admired by the owner of the campsite. We kept comfortable and dry inside our big blue home. We had a small halogen heater to keep us warm at night. We also bought a carpet and footprint groundsheet. Very cosy.
We are hoping for better weather this year so we can go camping again as we just love our tent. It was such a bargain. Good old e-bay!

We have just brought and spent 4 nights in this tent, after having a 4 man before without a sewn in groundsheet, this tent has really changed mine and the families feelings on camping. It was easy to put up, had a huge amount of space and everything we wanted. We were extremely please with it, it was awful weather where the rain literally hammered down for many days, not one leak at all and we were all snuggly and warm and dry, I couldn't recommend this tent enough!. I loved the three way of having the windows, and the carpet was so warm and made it feel very luxurious. We are now going to get the porch as well so that we can cook when the weather is bad and are looking forward to getting it out and using it again, putting it away was easy and it fitted back into the bag with no problems, the staff at go outdoors were great and have informed us that next time if the tent is dry we can keep the bedroom(as we only used one) attached to make it even easier an it will still fit in the bag, so we will need only one bag instead of two ;-)

We have had our tent for a few years now and would not swop it for anything, its so roomy and stands up to the most severe winds. We have bought loads of extras we now have two porches one either side we eat in one and cook in the other. The carpet provides a homely touch and we have three children running in and out did slip round a bit but adding a ring at each corner and one either side of the carpet it is then fastened to the main tent and does not move at all. This tent is a fantastic buy and we got ours off eBay for 36 pounds there was nothing wrong with at all and we have had many a happy week in it and would recommend it to any large family with little ones or teenagers as there is plenty of room for both all the baby bits or for teenagers who like to pack their whole wardrobe!

Manufacturer's Description
An updated version of Hi Gear's extra large tunnel tent, perfect for relaxed family camping holidays.
The Hi Gear Kalahari 10 Elite is a spacious and stable tunnel-style tent with two large partitionable bedrooms in a face-to-face layout, roomy enough for you, your family and all your gear.
Pre-attached high-visibility guylines, reduced pole sleeves, and sewn-in polyethylene groundsheet make pitching the tent quick and easy.
The bedrooms comfortably sleep five at each end of the tent, and have breathable polyester walls. Bedrooms can also be removed, to give you extra storage space, or room for dirty gear.
The huge living space has two large windows and hanging storage pockets to help keep it tidy, organised and liveable. Multiple vents along the roof help air flow throughout the tent.
The sewn-in groundsheet combined with the fire-retardant polyester flysheet (with 4000mm hydrostatic head) give you a fully sealed and ventilated internal environment, so you'll be completely protected from draughts and sustained downpours. The two doors can be propped and extended out to use for extra shelter from rain or stretching the space out for more room if it's sunny.
Other useful features include the water-repellent zips and an electrical cable access point.
