This is a great weekend tent for a family of 4. Being fans of Vango, we had planned to purchase the slightly cheaper Icarus 500, however on visiting the shop, the Outwell just looked nicer, higher quality and is much lighter in the living area due to the large windows.
It pitched very easily (pretty much a one person job with some assistance with holding the poles) and only took about 20mins, which bearing in mind it was the first time and our toddler was offering a great deal of 'help' was excellent. Tent pegs supplied are plastic but went in well. Guys are luminous which is quite helpful in low light.
It's very spacious inside with plenty of space for a 6'2' chap to stand up and enough room in the sleeping compartment for a double mattress, a junior mattress and a travel cot.
It comes in a large bag with compression straps - lessening the inevitable fight to get the tent back into the bag at the end of the holiday!
The downsides: because it's a sealed unit there are lots of zips for getting in and out. The bedroom divider is off centre (presumably because it's a 5 berth tent) but this leaves the smaller side quite small. However, these downsides are really trivial!
We also purchased the footprint groundsheet which is pretty good but bizarrely only came with 6 pegs despite the 8 pegging loops. After a weekend, there was a small amount of condensation between the two.
All in all, we are really pleased with this tent and would happily recommend it to others.

We've owned our Virginia 5 for a couple of years now - we always seemed to struggle getting it pitched 'just right' - it would be too stretched (so that some of the inner bedroom connectors are too tight and we have to leave them unconnected), the poles are really difficult to force into their positions and the edges of the sewn in floor are also tight and too raised. I've owned a number of tents and haven't had these concerns before. We've just spent a great long-weekend on a very windy Isle of Skye - the tent coped with no problem at all, despite 40mph winds and torrential overnight rain. By some chance we met another Virginia 5 owner and got chatting and mentioned our concerns with 'overtightness', it seems that we should have 3 poles of various lengths when in fact we have 3 of the same length - all the longer length which is giving us our problem! Unfortunately we bought the tent at the Outdoor Show and had no instructions with it - now that I've reviewed the pitching instructions on line I can see that yes, it should have 3 poles of two different lengths! I will contact Outwell and see what can be done.
In the interim, I can't recommend the tent enough - yes, the end/large door does mean a stretch and some planning to undo/do-up and with so many layers(3) per door it needs the same degree of thought to open them fully and tidily, but after a few outings these become the norm and insignificant. If we get our poles sorted then I'd gladly give this tent a 10 out of 10.
