We purchased this tent earlier in the year and have used it nearly every weekend since my girlfriend can erect on her own and it takes about 30mins.We use a queen size air bed and we unzip the divider to make one large bedroom, the living room is a great size. We have our kitchen and a table and chairs in there. The only problem we notice is when the entrances are closed the bottom of each one are not zipped and this can be draughty also leaves a good entry point for creepy crawlies and wild life! could do with a zip rather than one toggle to fasten the bottoms

Bought this tent about 2 months ago and have used it 4 times. It is a 6 man and definitely has the space to accommodate 6 people. It has a very spacious living area and a bedroom with a divider that can be removed easily to create one larger bedroom.
It is very simple to pitch only having 3 poles it takes under 15 mins with a bit of practice and is very strong and stable in the wind. I would recommend this tent definitely.

We purchased this tent as a weekend family tent and it's fast taken over as our main tent. We recently added the canopy which although I was against at first, now think it makes the tent. We have the footprint which helps with the pitching and insulation. We also have the carpet for that bit of luxury.
Pro's: Very quick to pitch and take down. My son and I have completed it, with canopy for the first time, in 20 mins. Large enough to be very comfortable for a family of four, and two dogs. Light to carry. Easy to take down and store. Looks good.
Cons: Rain can enter too easily through the sloping door onto the floor(hence the canopy purchase). Needs a hook/strap in the main room to hang a light.
Overall we'd rate this tent 9/10 and a Well Done Vango!

I have the tent, enclosed canopy, carpet and footprint - a great set! Bedrooms a great size for 4, living space good, enclosed canopy fabulous. Mesh covers for the doorways are fab, plenty of ventilation. Darker bedrooms for good sleep. Struggled to get the tent away into bag, otherwise a stress-free tent!

We bought the Icarus 600 with Canopy, carpet and footprint for £259 delivered from the internet. I have to say it is a great tent, acres of room for the four of us and you can easily get two double airbeds and a single in the bedroom. Lots of storage pockets inside and very bright and airy. It rained hard the first day we camped with it and it had no problems. The canopy really makes a big difference for sitting out at night and letting the kids play under cover.
Very easy to put up and peg out. The footprint did its job and is the perfect size.
Packing away was fairly easy, although we didn't manage to get the poles back in the tent bag, but probably our packing skills at fault!
We bought the green versions, although I have seen blue ones and they look very nice.
For £200 of less you won't go wrong with this tent.
I have given it a 9/10 only because the bottom of the doors are not sipped, they just use toggles to secure, however no rain got in only a little draught in the night.

This is an update to my previous review.
Slept in this for two nights with my three kids. What a great little tent. So mega easy to pitch, we even did it without falling out. Bedroom pods are great as you don't have to set them up. No condensation in the morning, all felt warm and dry.
Taking down was also easypeesy! This tent is great and I am now going to buy the canopy.

I purchased this tent second hand from ebay, after my old tent was destroyed in very windy conditions.
What a difference from my old tent, so easy to put up, only three sets of poles, all the same length so no need for colour coding or separating the poles into their different lengths, and bedrooms are erected at the same time, so very easy and quick.
Once up, easy to tighten all corners, and guy ropes, to create a sturdy and roomy tent.
This is a great tent for weekends away. There are only a few minor improvements that could be made that many have already said.
Firstly, and I think most frustrating, is the lack of an overhead loop to hang a light from.
Also I think it would be a very tight squeeze to get six people in the bedrooms, best used as a four man tent with breathing room.
Overall though a great tent, you wont be disappointed, I know im not

Bought this in December off ebay, brand new for only 100 smackers.
Hid it in loft hubbie found it! So thought well might as well pitch it and see how it goes.
Pitched yesterday with help of my 11 year old son. So easy, can't believe how quickly we put it up, and having the bedroom pods already in is fab.
Plenty headroom, sturdy etc
However, was a bit disappointed at the size of the bedrooms, we couldn't get all five inflatable beds in there, but I did only buy it for me and the kids as we have a huge sungari and canopy for when the husband comes.
Kids slept in it last night, very comfortable, bit of condensation in the living area in the morning, but all in all pretty good.
Now I just have to source the canopy!

Bedrooms seem a good size, and the living area is fine. It is very easy to pitch solo. I was rather aware of the difference in quality between the Icarus and my Royal as I pitched it. Then at first pitching, in perfect calm conditions, the seams gave way at two points where the pins go onto the poles, presumably from a lack of fabric allowance at the seams. Disappointing!

This is a brilliant tent mainly because for it's size it's easy to put up and the living space for up to 6 together is brilliant with small children. Loads of room for two double airbeds and bags in sleeping compartment. We had lots and lots of rain and the sleeping part stayed nice and dry. I wish we had known about the canopy and will definitely buy one for next time as it was hard to keep the water out of the front part when in and out all the time and we didn't want to crowd the inside space with cooking equipment and tables. The pockets at the sides and front of the sleeping compartment are very useful and it has enough windows and the side zip to make the most of nicer weather. Being able to simply open up the sleeping to full width was a plus too. Top marks can't wait to go again.

Manufacturer's Description
The Vango Icarus 600 is a new size being introduced into the highly popular range for the 2010 season. The Icarus range is likely to prove even more popular in 2010 due to the fantastically simple 'as-one' easy to pitch system and the simple 3-pole no hassle construction will make it the most ideal of weekend tents.
The tent frame is constructed using Powerflex fiberglass poles, a Protex 2000 Polyester flysheet (2000mm hydrostatic head protection) and as is the norm these days, the groundsheet is fully sewn-in to keep out unwanted pests and draughts.
The other key features of the tent include, as-one pitching, single 6-berth sleeping compartment (with roll back divider), TBS tension band system for extra strengthening in adverse weather, 10,000mm HH internal groundsheet, side 'J' door with mesh double door, heavy duty continuous poles sleeves, storm skirts, pelmet with storage pockets, cable entry point, front door mesh vent, reflective webbing, (helps aliens encounter you) 'Crystal Clear' windows (with internal covers), breathable fabric inner tent, parallel zipped front door can be used as a sun sun porch (porch poles not provided). Handled carry bag and repair kit included. Flame retardant throughout.
