I purchased this tent after reading the reviews on this site and have not been disappointed. We wanted something reasonably priced with a bedroom at each end and the Horizon 6 fitted the bill perfectly with plenty of space for two adults and a couple of teenagers.

It is very easy to put up and take down and with a bit of practise it goes back into it's bag fairly easily.

We had one night of very windy weather but the tent stood up to heavy buffeting very well and while several other tents ended up in the onsite skip our Horizon 6 was undamaged.

We also had a couple of overnight downpours but once again the tent performed well with no leaks.

My only gripe with this tent is the ventilation.

There was usually a light sheen of condensation on the inside of the tent each morning but this soon dried and didn't cause any problems as the weather was warm and sunny during the day. If it had been raining more this may have caused more of a problem.

There are mesh panels on each end and also on both doors. The door mesh panels are full size and separate from the doors themselves which means the doors can be left open to provide ventilation while still keeping bugs out. There are also mesh panels above the windows on each side of the tent. Ideally these should be positioned below the windows as they couldn't be exposed without also exposing the windows as the flaps covering them only opened upwards. This isn't a problem during the day but doesn't give much privacy at night. Also if you leave the flaps open at night and it rains the rain will enter the tent through the mesh panels.

Other than that rather minor quibble this is an excellent tent and we intend to purchase the porch for our next trip to give us even more room.

We didn't really notice the draughts other people have mentioned but I've got the Velcro ready for next time just in case.

I can thoroughly recommend the Horizon 6 to anybody looking for a spacious, reasonably priced tent that will perform well in the typical weather we get here in the UK and we're looking forward to many more trips with it.

Have used ours 3 times now. It has rained on all 3 trips, we have had no leaks at all. Was very windy on our last trip and the tent stood up to all the wind. An easy tent to put up & take down, and there's loads of room inside for 2 adults and 3 children. We have the canopy but I will certainly buy the porch for next season. My only gripe is with the draughty doors, but some velcro soon fixed this. All in all I am well pleased and look forward to using over and over again.

We bought this tent as a replacement for our old tent that was also gelert and we used for 8 years.

We love it, easy to put up and take down. We got the footprint which makes pitching so simple as you can see where you are going and in high winds you can put some pegs in before the poles.

The only problem that we have noticed on our last trip it has had 4 trips so far this season is on one of the pole sleeves there is a tear, we think this has happened during the high winds with both poles rubbing against each other the metal sleeve connector on the poles has pinched and tore the fabric.

But the tent has been great in sun rain and wind. We use the back pod for storage as there is a draft from the door is really bad weather. We do use delta pegs if the wind picks up, so haven't had the problem with pegs.

The carpet is lovely makes it feel much warmer.

Overall really happy with the tent.

Maybe we will get the poach next!

Tried out and thoroughly tested this tent recently for our very first family camping holiday, two adults and two children, plenty of space. The tent was easy to erect and went up a dream with no problems at all, we never even had a trial run before we left. We also opted for the porch, rug and the foot print to go with it and would highly recommend all three.

We endured some very heavy blustery down pours on several occasions and the tent I am very pleased to say held up exceptionally, not a single leak to be seen. I did tighten the porch straps over the tent and some guy ropes a little too tight which did result in the zip to the door being rather tight and awkward for a while. The only down side to this tent was the opening along the bottom of the end door to one of the bedrooms. It really needs some velcro or something before we go again to stop draughts and insects from getting in as I doubt we shall ever actually use it as a door.

All in all a great purchase and a delight to use.

Our first major tent for a long time which cost around £180 plus we bought the porch and the carpet.

The porch gives great extra space which had to be used for cooking because the weather was so bad all the time.

There were 4 of us - 2 adults and 2 children (6 & 10) plus our Golden Retriever and 2 of her 16 week old puppies. The tent suffered with condensation problems, I guess because of all the bodies inside and rain outside.

Although having the porch was good it didn't fit as snugly as we would have liked against the side of the tent. The rain came in big time but in fairness it was heavy rain and very windy for a long time :-(

Our biggest (and easiest to fix) gripe is the tent pegs. They didn't hold very well in wet ground so with the wet and windy weather I had to get up a couple of times in the night to secure flapping porch straps and flailing guy ropes - but I used some new heavier duty pegs which sorted out the problem.

It would be nice to have a guide to how to position the guy ropes because as I said early the wind and rain was constant and the ropes needed tightening/adjusting a fair bit but one night I over tightened and we couldn't close the main door nor the bedroom door - so back out into the rain and wind to re-adjust. Does anyone have any suggestions for positioning of guy ropes etc. Etc.

The space is wonderful, the separate bedrooms are really cosy and the centre carpet makes it very homely and comfortable.

All in all we love this tent, just need some good weather to enjoy it properly.

This tent is spacious and easy to erect. We bought the porch extension which was an excellent addition, which we used to keep shoes (so we never wore shoes in the main tent), the water container, and other items you need but don't want cluttering the main tent.

Unfortunately when we used this tent (for the first time) it rained every day and tended to drip inside in a few areas, although not enough to really wet anything through, we did use containers to catch the drips.

I must state this was the first time we had used the tent, so was not down to wear and tear, and I think was to be expected with the amount of rain we had.

Overall, an excellent tent, easy to use, and the only downside I now have is how to dry it out, it's massive !

Hi - just a quick note - just bought one of these and used it last night - the camping trip was a disaster due to the site we stayed on but this tent was fantastic - genuinely simple to erect, spacious and well designed - completely pleased and will now be buying the porch extension.

We are first time campers and did a fair amount of research before we bought this tent and I think we got a bargain! It goes up like a dream in about half an hour. That said though we could not get it back in the bag after! I agree that the doors are a bit draughty so Im going to try some extra velcro next time I think. Not a drop of rain got in and its full of useful storage etc. We paid around £125 and it was well worth it.

I was extremely pleased in the ease of putting up the tent and the taking down was also a breeze. Lots of space for two and two big dogs. My main gripe would be the draft (already mentioned previously) from the side doors, windows and end door. It was very windy in Snowdonia and the wind whipped up under the windows and doors. I am contemplating getting some velcro to stop this. We had no problem getting it back in the bag. I would strongly recommend getting the Gelert carpet, it really does make it more cosy. I made the decision of sleeping with our heads facing towards the inside of the tent but this end is much lower and was a little irritating in the wind but we will try it the other way round next time. We haven't been camping since 1990 so all things considered it was a pretty good buy!

We've just used this tent for the first time and were very impressed. We needed a tent with 2 bedrooms so that our son could have some privacy as well as ourselves. The tent went up really easily and withstood the battering it got from wind and rain in the middle of our holiday. It also dried out really quickly afterwards.

I also like the way you can open the windows part way so that you get light into the tent but it is still waterproof.
