Brilliant tent for the price. Easy to put up and down, with just two of us.

There were a couple of poles that were not connected and a broken zip, took it back to Go Outdoors, who replaced it no problem.

Plenty of room in living area (as there were 2 adults, 4 children & 1 baby) we had chairs and 2 camping cupboards, in one bedroom we also had a wardrobe.

We also had the porch, which was again easy to put up, it gave us extra space to put our cooker, fridge, table & chairs, would highly recommend, as if you had bad weather, it would keep you main tent dry.

An extra I would recommend is the carpet, which made it homely and warm. Can not wait to book again, enjoyable tent.

Overall I'm really pleased with this tent, we have two teenagers so there is plenty of space for the four of us. The central space is big enough for a table and chairs and there is good head height.

The tent is pretty waterproof, we did have some minor leakage but given the full force of Cornish weather it stood up well.

It's pretty easy to put up and take down, the only downside is it doesn't have porch fitted, we are considering buying one

Fab, fab, fab. This is our first big family tent and we are so pleased with it. Loads of room, easy to put up and pack away, warm and comfy (even when we had a storm!) and the porch was really good too. Would recommend it to anyone who wants a spacious family tent at a sensible price. There are lots of storage pockets, and ample headroom. I would recommend the carpet too, which was soft and cosy and meant the kids were happy to sit inside and play when it rained.

Good tent, very spacious and simple to put up. It still takes a little while with the porch too, but it isn't complicated. Stitching not perfect and seen some places where I'm going to have to mend soon. Zip on porch door broke on our first use but I think we were just unfortunate. Big bedrooms and ample living space. Great with porch for cooking in when its raining and leaving boots in at night.

It rained a lot one of the nights we stayed and the tent held up well.

Overall we were pleased with the tent.

I haven't ever owned a tent so I was surprised by how easy this one is too put up. There is loads of space even with the internal bedroom compartments in it. The pockets are great for keeping the place tidy and we were warm and snug at night. We also purchased the carpet for the tent which made it feel more homely. I would recommend this tent to anyone.

This is our first large family tent. We were looking for something reasonably priced but spacious and the Kalahari 8 is perfect. We bought it from Go Outdoors with the porch, footprint and carpet for approximately £300 which, having now used it - is an absolute bargain. The porch is a great size and a godsend for those muddy boots and the carpet was so comfy that this kids wanted to sleep on it! The porch also meant we could have more room in the living area and there are lots of pockets for keeping things in, which we found was really handy. We had some hot days and there was no condensation on the inside and was easily ventilated. We also had some windy nights which the tent coped easily with. The fact that the tent is sewn in is fantastic as our dog could roam around without us worrying if he could escape! Although the tent is large, 2 adults easily erected it. We would definitely recommend this one.

Bought this for family adventures with wife, two young boys and our dog. Paid £250 at 'Go Outdoors' and you get loads of tent for your money. It was easy to put up, put down and pack away. There are lots of little pockets which is great for tidying things away. A massive amount of space to camp in. A well designed tent.

However, the quality is poor. The sewing for the groundsheet is so bad that in two area's I can poke my finger through the gaps in the seem. When I unpacked there was a tear in the middle of the groundsheet. Also found two tears above the window in the fly sheet. The 'slick pole sleeves' have not been glued effectively and three of them have broken free after one trip.

I bought this as so many reviews said it was 10/10. I suggest that if you buy one you turn it inside out and check the seems and stitching before leaving the store. I now have a 40 mile trip to take it back.

This tent is huge inside - although it doesn't look excessively large from the outside.

We can pitch the tent within half an hour (between 2 of us and the 'help' of a toddler). It is easy to put up and take down - we had 2 practice runs in the garden, the first of which took about 45 mins.

The tent is an 8 man however we managed to fit 2 single airbeds and a childs ready bed in one bedroom compartment with the divider removed. There was space between each bed but we wouldn't have been able to fit a 4th bed in.

We only used one bedroom compartment and left the other out so the living space was huge.

We purchased the footprint which was brilliant for determining where the tent would be pitched.

The carpet fits well and made it more comfortable to move around the tent.

We purchased the tent for £179 in the sale at Go Outdoors and are really happy with it so far and think it was great value for money.

We own this tent and have had some great camping trips with it. I have to say on the whole it is fantastic, it has room for everyone and then some. The tent pack is slightly bulky due to its size - so takes up a bit of room in the car, but the space it offers when erect is second to none. 2 of use can put it up quicker than our old 4 man tent. The only problem with our tent is. That the family has shrunk as the kids get older and move on, so the tent is maybe too big for use. We bought it for £200 on an offer, so its paid for itself.

Just bought this tent recently on the basis that it was cheap and the reviews here seemed to suggest it was a good buy. Also bought the groundsheet, carpet and porch, and all I can say is wow, what a marvellous tent. Took the two of us half hour to pitch, which I was well impressed with. Massive amounts of space and loads of ventilation. Didn't manage to get the porch up as we were only pitched for the weekend and spent most of the time in the sun, so that will have to go up in a couple of weeks when in Cornwall. Packing away was a sinch, someone already suggested leaving the inner tents in, which we did, and oh my, so simple to pack up in the oversized bag and will make pitching in a couple of weeks even quicker. I have a target of 10 minutes, so wish us luck. Highly recommended, so if you're in the market for a big tent, get one, especially whilst the price keeps dropping like a stone :-)

Manufacturer's Description

An updated version of the Kalahari Elite, the Hi Gear Kalahari 8 Eclipse is a spacious, stable and comfortable tunnel-style tent with two large partitionable bedrooms in a face-to-face layout, roomy enough for you, your family and all your gear.

The bedrooms comfortably sleep four at each end of the tent, in 2+2 inners with breathable polyester walls. They're made using darkened 'Eclipse' fabric that blocks out daylight, keeping it cool and dark inside so you get a better night's sleep. The bedrooms can also be removed, to give you extra storage space, or room for dirty gear.

The large living space has two large windows and hanging storage pockets to help keep it tidy, organised and liveable. Multiple vents along the roof help air flow throughout the tent.

The sewn-in groundsheet couples with the fire-retardant polyester flysheet give you a ventilated interior that's completely protected from draughts and downpours. The two doors can prop and extend out for extra shelter, or to expand your relaxation space.

Other useful features include the water-repellent zips and dual electrical cable access points. Pre-attached high-visibility guylines, reduced pole sleeves, and the sewn-in groundsheet make pitching quick and easy.
