First off, it's a surprisingly big bag for a 5 person tent - the same size bag as an 8 person Coleman tent I have. If you're looking to buy something small to transport, consider this carefully! Especially, once you add the additional bag for the porch and carpet, if you opt for those (more on that later!).
The tent is quite straight forward to erect for two people (you'd struggle on your own) and pitches in one go, i.E. Not inner first. There are just three poles to slide in and bend into shape before clipping the lower sections of the tent onto it - it's a nice design with some neat touches like velco straps to hold the (luminous yellow) guy ropes neatly in place until needed. The tent comes with plenty of large plastic pegs which i've found to be quite strong, although i'd always advise you to carry some rock pegs. The side entrance has a brow pole which seems a little tight against the tent but use has shown that it works fine after it's been used a few times. There is an additional central pole in the living area but it fits well and provides a useful place to hang torches etc.
The windows are big and made of very nice clear plastic. Curtains are integral to keep the light out and there are nice pop out vents on all corners for a bit of air circulation. It goes without saying but all of the doors and mosquito nets can be rolled up together or individually.
The side entrance mentioned earlier is a nice addition if you'd rather keep the big front entrance closed up in bad weather.
It's a sewn inn groundsheet (SIG), so very waterproof and bug proof, even if you wanted to sleep in the living area.
The bedroom area is plenty big enough for 4 people, but 5 would be very tight, especially if all adults. We use three standard size single airbeds and a larger 'Kampa' childrens airbed which has sides to stop the child falling out and all 4 fit snugly together. The bedroom area has a detachable screen to separate the bedroom into two if needed.
The living area is a very good size - certainly capable of fitting a folding table and chairs if you needed to eat indoors. There is also an excellent hanging storage unit included which contains about 12 good size pockets for all your mobile phones, keys, torches etc. A really nice touch.
There's a zip providing a convenient access for an electrical hook up (EHU) cable too.
The tent has completely proven itself in bad weather. We were using it near the August 2011 Bournemouth flash floods in 24 hours of torrential rain and we had literally no water in the tent. Very impressive.
In addition to the tent, we have the fitted groundsheet, carpet and canopy so a little on those too.
The groundsheet is a no brainer. It helps you to position the tent before you actually put it up, protects the bottom of the tent and provides a clean place to pack it all away afterwards. I'd always have one.
The canopy, for us, is essential these days. It allows you to cook under shelter even in the pouring rain, without any danger of setting your tent alight or stinking it up with cooking smells! It also means that you can keep the big main entrance open even in bad weather. Totally recommended. The porch has two poles and is a little fiddly to put up, especially if its windy (becomes a 3 person job!) but once up and clipped to the tent it's very stable. The sides go right to the ground, with wind and water proof flaps at the bottom for complete protection from the elements. Additionally, we've found that you can route the centre tent guy rope (which you don't need with the canopy) across the top of the canopy and it makes a perfect clothes line!
The carpet is a luxury which many (including myself) used to think was a complete waste, although many people already use a number of picnic blankets to make their tents more cosy! The Nevada carpet folds down pretty small yet fits the whole of the living area and provides an excellent quality and beautifully cosy surface to step out onto in the morning. It may be on the 'glamping' side of camping, but i'm now sold on one!
Brilliant tent, especially if you can get the package deal for a good price too. Well recommended.

The Outwell Nevada M 5 man tent was originally £379.99 at Go Outdoors shop but as a member of the discount scheme we got it for £199.99 in August 2011 in the sale it is an excellent comfy tent with loads of room we were two adults and three children aged 3,6,and 8 we are going to add the extension onto it next time for even more space we also bought the footprint for it excellent keeps tent dry underneath all easy to put up and take down would recommend this tent for definite we fitted a double air bed one side and two singles the other side but have decided to buy another double airbed and not use the single airbeds next time plenty of room for a double one each side enjoyed sleeping in it.

We have just got back from a 3 night break in the new forest. This was our first outing with the Nevada m as we purchased it the week before. We also purchased the footprint & the carpet. We spent a good while researching what tent to buy. Then narrowed it down to a couple. Once we started to view the tents at shops the quality of Outwell was apparent from other manufacturers.
The tent is absolutely superb.
When we arrived at the site it was raining. We started to erect the tent & about half way through the heavens opened up on us. We continued to pitch the tent which we did in about 30 minutes. We were soaked to the bone. The tent had no leaks whatsoever!
It is an ideal size for myself, partner & our 2 dogs. The tent is very sturdy & is simple to erect & dismantle. This is the 2011 model & does have clips for secure fixing of a light cable.
I will be purchasing some better pegs though as I damaged 3 on this outing. This may be down to me being heavy handed though??
I will certainly be purchasing the porch extension soon & cannot wait to go away again in this wonderful tent.
So pleased that we chose to purchase the Nevada M

We bought a Nevada M with carpet and footprint last year in time for an Easter break in Ullswater and it had a baptism of fire, or should I say snow! We've added the front extension since and it has served us well in storms and high winds as well as in better weather.
It's a big tent for a couple but I have some low-level mobility issues and so benefit from plenty of space and a spare bedroom for a camping loo and luggage. For the same reason, it's essential for a tent to be easy enough for me to help my husband to put up and take down and the Nevada M couldn't be easier. We often camp with friends and there is plenty of space for guests to come and eat in the living space and awning.
We have just replaced some guy ropes and pole cord that were showing signs of wear and look forward to many more happy holidays.

Bought Nevada M in August 2010 . Went away for weekend break to Scarborough. Tent had everything myself ,partner and 2 kids needed. No probs. Went away this July to Ullswater, nightmare, the tent leaked in seven places, not just drips here and there. Had to cut short holiday. Tried seamsealer, didn't help. It was two weeks out of warranty, however the assistant manager at go outdoors( west denton) Newcastle couldn't have been more helpful. Exchanged for a 2011 model with full years guarantee. I wouldn't have got another Outwell nevada but we had bought footprint groundsheet , carpet . Will see how the replacement tent turns out watch this space. Must stress the rain we had was not heavy but on and off light to moderate .

Being a relative newcomer to Camping and having borrowed one of these Tents after a bad experience from another manufacturer,we decided to buy a Nevada M and couldn't be more pleased. On its first outing and on a couple of other occasions,it has taken a real battering without any problems at all. Simply a great Tent, especially with the front extension. As for standing room,im 6'3 and can stand up with plenty to spare. As others have said, the only issue are the plastic pegs, a bit puzzling why these are supplied on such a good, quick to erect Tent.

A superb tent!
This tent has by-far exceeded our expectations! We purchased the tent, front extension, matching Outwell wind break and carpet for a 2 week trip to Cornwall. We have since used it 3 times and are seriously impressed!
For starters, the tent really does look the business! It's big, and with the front extension, it dominated our campsite! There is loads of room to stand up in it, and when it's raining, you can zip yourself in with a table and 4-6 chairs and still be comfortable. The extension is a must in my opinion. It allows for cooking and relaxing whilst undercover.
The biggest difference between this and my old tent, other than the size, is that the Nevada M has a built in ground sheet, so when you're in, you're in, and the creepy crawlies are out! It makes the tent feel so much warmer and comfortable, especially with the carpet.
An brilliant tent! I can't recommend enough!

I can't believe how much I love this tent. We are seasoned campers, attending dog agility and flyball shows most weekends in our lovely British weather (don't think we have had a dry weekend yet!) This weekend was our first outing with this tent and boy did it get tested, we had sunshine, rain, thunder and lightning and everything was fine, we also purchased the carpet which is lovely, however I am not too sure how clean it will stay with 2 Rottweilers, but I would definitely recommend this tent to anyone, it was more than spacey for me, my partner and the 2 Rotties - I loved it! I can't wait for the next weekend away!

This is a great tent, easy to put up, and pack away. The design has been really thought about. The front section is great on those hot days where you can open up all sides of the compartment to get some air through.
I gave it 9/10 because it seemed a big weighty for me but other than that all is good. Oh and remember to buy a mallet when you purchase this tent Because our version came with fat lumo plastic pegs.

Picked up this second-hand on ebay and have made 5 trips in it already in less than 3 months. For those still crouching and stooping in smaller, lighter tents - STOP! See the light!
It goes up in less than 30 minutes and is spacious, light and well-ventilated. If you get the front extension too (I would recommend this plus the fitted carpet and footprint groundsheet), there is easily enough room for 10 people in chairs plus tables to shelter from the elements.Particularly good if your camping buddies are still in the 'crouching and stooping' phase. ;-)
When it's hot, the front extension allows you to leave just the mosquito net down overnight for added ventilation.
The panoramic windows make it bright when the weather is less than sunny. But you can still block it out with the built in curtains if you don't want to be woken too early.
This is my first experience in the world of 'stand up' camping but I think it has been brilliantly designed and would recommend it to anyone from couples to families with 2 (older) or 3 (younger) kids.
