Just returned after 4 days camping, this is the first time we have used our tent, very easy to put up, and great in adverse weather conditions. The first night it poured down and strong winds, the tension bands were a god send kept the tent very stable and it didn't leak, plenty of living space and two large bedrooms,we also bought the canopy but could not use it due to the weather, would recommend this tent. It was a great buy,

Very functional tent, we also had the extra canopy. Which meant we could cook outside even in the rain. Very easy to put up with all internal compartments already connected. First attempt took just under 50mins from start to finish, second attempt took 30. Got tent back into bag with no trouble. Large sleeping area we had 2 double airbeds and plenty of space for bags and lots of indoor space. We had some high winds one night but the tent held up really well, would recommend.

Pros spacious more than enough room for two adults and two children, had two double airbeds in bedrooms and had loads of room for bags, toys etc. Loved the storage slots as well.
Cons only has fly vent on side door not main door and in high wind the door flaps loads and we thought we would take off! (apparently this is needed to stop condensation). Also when unpacking for the first time we had two dirty footprints inside tent and a few frayed edges.

I love my tent! Loads of room - there are 5 of us and we could easily fit another 1 in and not be too squashed in the bedroom. The living space is great we fitted a folding picnic table and thre folding chairs - and a good job too as the first time we used it the rain never stopped. When we woke the next morning the beds were nice and dry - but living area was a bit damp,(my back door at home let in more water though!).
Pitching was easy with just three poles - but with the wind we used the kids to stand on the tent whilst we secured it!

This is our first ever tent purchase (family of 4 with young children 7 & 3). We read lots of reviews online, saw one up at a local camping store and decided to go for it. Never really keen on camping but our 7 year old is really into it through Beaver Scouts so thought we'd give it a try.
We found the tent easy to pitch with our limited experience (but did watch the demo on youtube several times which obviously helped!). The ring and pin mechanism is a bit tricky for me but my OH managed it fine. Quick to put up and we had no problems taking down and getting it back in the bag - did the folding inwards technique mentioned before, haven't managed to get the poles in bag with it but they can be clipped onto the top of the bag.
We were away for 3 nights - heavy rain for 1 day - but no leaks and no problems with condensation either.
We are very pleased with the tent overall with just a couple of niggles (elastic toggle holding side door back came off at first use and some weakening along seam between bedroom pod and zip - may have been over-excited little ones -still usable though).
We now have the camping bug and already booked our next weekend trip!

Being new to camping had no idea what to look for when buying a tent, bought Icarus 600 it is great lots of space and the bedrooms huge. 3 single airbeds all our clothes and other stuff and still plenty of room. Bought sun canopy makes tent look huge. Must have caught a camping bug been camping four times in 8 weeks, love it.

Very easy to erect, plenty of usable space. Ideal for weekend or longer stays without being too large or cumbersome. Packs away neatly and doesn't take up much space in the car boot. Fits easily onto a standard size pitch, unlike some of the other tents we have owned, and for which camp sites are starting to charge more for. This tent fits all the right criteria, definitely a good buy, and if you search online you can get it cheaper than the shops or camp shops.

We are in love with this tent!
We bought the tent canopy and footprint and are going to invest in carpet and tunnel extension.
The only point which was negative point was the bedrooms could be a bit bigger, but overall the tent was great and stood up to strong winds and heavy rain.
Pitching is real easy if you peg down the back of the tent then put all poles in after this move the front of the tent half way up and then put the pins in, lift all poles together and then pull the tent into shape.
Icarus 600+delta pegs= happy campers :)

We have just purchased our Vango Icarus 600 after a lot of thought and review searching. We have owned a Vango tent before and felt safe with the Vango name. The design and layout looked great, and we were very excited. We have now pitched the tent 3 times, and on two of those occasions, the poles have shattered. We have now had to have 3 different replacement poles, and we certainly have not used any undue force in the pitching. In fact, last time we pitched we were with a group of friends who seemed really shocked how easily the poles broke, especially as they were pitching an older vango tent beside us.

Have got the massive Kampa Studland 8, which is just too big for a weekend, so decided to buy a smaller tent. Went to local dealer armed with the measurements of our airbeds and a tape measure.
Unfortunately most of the 4 and 5 berth tents won't actually fit air beds for 4 people, so we settled on the Icarus 600, which comfortably fits us all.
Was quite easy to put up- took about an hour from arriving to having the beds inflated and made up, stove set up etc. Probably the actual tent time was 30 mins including pegging out. We really liked the easy way the sleeping compartments were attached and sprung up when the tent was put up. The quality is noticeably different to that of the Kampa, but it is a much lighter & cheaper tent. The light shone through the fabric, but during a brief down pour it didn't leak. A better seal along the bottom of the doors would ease drafts.
All in all it was a nice tent for our weekend away.

Manufacturer's Description
The Vango Icarus 600 is a new size being introduced into the highly popular range for the 2010 season. The Icarus range is likely to prove even more popular in 2010 due to the fantastically simple 'as-one' easy to pitch system and the simple 3-pole no hassle construction will make it the most ideal of weekend tents.
The tent frame is constructed using Powerflex fiberglass poles, a Protex 2000 Polyester flysheet (2000mm hydrostatic head protection) and as is the norm these days, the groundsheet is fully sewn-in to keep out unwanted pests and draughts.
The other key features of the tent include, as-one pitching, single 6-berth sleeping compartment (with roll back divider), TBS tension band system for extra strengthening in adverse weather, 10,000mm HH internal groundsheet, side 'J' door with mesh double door, heavy duty continuous poles sleeves, storm skirts, pelmet with storage pockets, cable entry point, front door mesh vent, reflective webbing, (helps aliens encounter you) 'Crystal Clear' windows (with internal covers), breathable fabric inner tent, parallel zipped front door can be used as a sun sun porch (porch poles not provided). Handled carry bag and repair kit included. Flame retardant throughout.
