Along with many other comments this is a fantastic tent. The layout is great and plenty of space.
A few people have commented on difficulty erecting tent and getting poles into pins - I agree that first attempt did appear tight but took a step back and thought about what I was doing. My recommendation would be this.
1) Lay tent out in position on ground.
2) Peg out front of tent to stop it moving.
3) Work from front to back, insert poles with arch facing towards front.
4) Ensure when inserting pins that adjustable tabs are as lose as possible.
5) As you do each pole gather tent towards the front and place pole and tent material on top of previous.
6) Once all done lift all poles into concertina and extend backwards (because the front is pegged the 'footprint' remains the same.
7) Peg guy-lines front and back.
I know these are very similar to the Vango instructions but I don't think they explain it fully enough. Doing this the poles went into the pins easily and it is easy to get the tent from floor to upright in 30mins or so.

We have recently up-graded to the Maritsa 700 and are not disappointed. It can be a bit tricky to put up - getting the pins into the pole does require some strength but once this is done the tent is up in a matter of minutes. We took 45 minutes to put it up including bedrooms. It is very stable even in quite strong winds and we didn't bother putting all the guy ropes out. We had quite hard rain and only had a couple of very small leaks at the bottom of the windows.
Overall the layout is great and so much room for a family of 4 including 2 teenagers. The porch is great for the kitchen area and we used the middle bedroom for clothes. Lots of pockets to store bits in and hooks. We have the navy colour version and carpet and the living area is very light and airy.
Having spent 3 days camping in it we can't wait for the next camping trip.

We weren't planning on upgrading our current tent. Until we saw the Maritsa 700! We saw it, we bought it, we now love it.
The layout is brilliant - good size bedrooms, excellent living space (there are 4 of us - 2 adults, a big 8 years old and a weeny 4 year old; plus a dog). The 3rd bedroom doubles up as a closet, so we keep all our clothes in there and it keeps the main area lovely and tidy. We have had 7 people sleep in the tent and it was fine - not at all claustrophobic as some tents can be.
The porch area is great - we keep our kitchen unit, all the food, plus shoes etc in there.
We had strong winds and heavy rain, and the tent didn't leak at all. It felt very sturdy.
We have upgraded from a fibreglass poled tunnel tent, and I have to say that the metal poles of the Maritsa and far sturdier (albeit in heavier). But I think it would be a struggle to erect this tent if there was only me.

I just wanted to add some further comments as we had a 2010 model which leaked quite badly. It was OK in light rain, but moderate rain resulted in water seeping in at the bottom of the window flaps and under heavy rainfall water actually seeped through the material itself. I had heard tell that the material had been poorly sprayed at the ends of the rolls, so if you got one made from the end of the roll it would leak.
HOWEVER Casey's Outdoor Leisure were brilliant in negotiating with Vango on our behalf with the outcome that it was collected in September 2010 with the promise of a replacement 2011 model when they were available, and the replacement duly arrived with no prompting in February.
So this weekend was its first outing and I'm delighted to report that even under strong winds and heavy rainfall (Burton Bradstock in Dorset, 1/5/11) the tent leaked like a submarine - i.E. Not one solitary drop got in.
There are some changed features, but mostly for the better. The 'Sprung open' vents in the porch are gone, but the porch groundsheet is now sewn in, so no more struggling to hook it in, and there are more pockets under each of the main windows and some built-in hooks.
So I would say Vango have solved the leaking issues with the 2011 model year and I'd happily recommend this tent to anyone. The only downsides are that the steel poles make it heavy and as such its a bit awkward to put up so only for people who are still pretty able-bodied.
Oh, and I preferred the older colour, but not enough to get wet for!
Well done Vango for solving the issues.

I bought this tent from go outdoors at first I was so impressed with the tent loads of room and seemed very strong.
All was well for three weekends away but then after a very rainy week in Cornwall the problem happened.
We woke up to find the tent flooded and the carpet ruined the main seam running left to right had failed and it was all but raining inside the tent took the tent back to the retailer for an exchange but after 8 weeks of waiting ended up with a refund and changed to and Outwell .
Overall I would have had another maritsa but after a bad experience with go outdoors we bought from yeomans with a better returns policy.

Just purchased the new Maritsa 700 2011 model in Moss. Have put it up in the garden to check it over, and very impressed. Took 2 of us 30 mins, Like the zipped partition between the large bedroom. Left for 3 days NO LEAKS. Purchased the foot print and the carpet at the same time. Looking forward to our first time away in our new tent, lots of space, for 2 adults 2 kids and a dog. Not at all worried about heavy rain or bad winds in this tent.

I have camped for years, but since being married, my husband has refused. Eventually, I managed to persuade him and so, after a lot of research to find the right tent, decided upon this Vango.
My husband is quite tall.Over 6ft, so we needed a tent which he could stand up in and was spacious enough for the four of us. (We have two little girls). I wanted a closed in porch and enough space, if it was raining, so that we didn't feel on top of each other. The Vango Maritsa 700 seemed to tick every box.
We have camped in it twice now. The first time we had a little rain and there was a small wet patch by one of the windows. I thought that this might be condensation, but since reading the other reviews, I am wondering if this was a small window leak. However, the rest of it seemed to be leak-free.
The other holiday saw no rain, but it was cold and there was condensation, but no leaks.
I have to say, I would highly recommend this tent, but it has yet to stand up to very high winds and rain.Perhaps I shouldn't hold my breath!

I posted a comment back in May about our brand new Maritsa 700 leaking. Go Outdoors were brilliant, and swapped it for a new one immediately. However, we used it in France a couple of weeks ago, and had the same issue with leaky window seams, as well as the middle bedroom/wardrobe pole causing the roof seam to open slightly.
Having spoken again to Go Outdoors, they have gone back to Vango with our complaint.
Vango have updated the tent for 2011, and the waterproof fabric has been increased frmo 3000 to 4000, and the quality is supposed to be better. Go Outdoors have offered us either a full refund, or we can swap to the 2011 model when it's in their stores in Feb/March.
Overall, it's still one of the best looking and most practical tents on the market, so I can't wait to get a new one next year.

I've been camping for 40 years and have had a lot of different tents. I bought this one in the hope that my 6' 4' husband would be able to camp without complaining of a sore back, and after our last 4 night trip he ACTUALLY SAID HE LIKED IT! This is after years of gentle persuasion that camping is actually fun. We put one child in each of the 2 smaller pods and the parents' 2 big camp beds in the larger pod, and we're all snug.
We just came back from a trip to Holland and the tent stood up very well in force 7 or 8 winds and torrential rain. We had no leaks. I did use some more substantial pegs than the ones that came with the tent, and we did make a tiny pinhole in the main groundsheet with a chair leg during a particularly animated game of Beggar Your Neighbour, but nothing you couldn't fix with a bit of duct tape. I have some cut-up vinyl floor tiles under the camp bed legs to stop them tearing the floor. I like having the big porch area for cooking in. My tall husband only bumped his head on the lantern once, and said his back didn't ache at all.
The only problem I have with the tent is its weight, which makes it hard work to put up especially in the wind. We can do it in about 30 or 40 mins now, after a bit of practise. Overall a good tent for family car camping.

My family and I have just returned from a weeks camping in Tenby. The tent is excellent even with a couple of leaks through the window zips. The shape of the canopy channels water towards the windows in heavy rain. I have contacted Vango and told them about the problem and how to fix this very minor fault. It easily stood up to high winds and torrential rain and is extremely sturdy. It remained free from draughts and is easy to heat. The interior space is great and easy to live in. I look forward to our next trip
