We have owned the Kalahari 10 (blue version prior to Elite) since 2013. We bought the bundle deal from GO which includes footprint and carpet.
Love the living space which is ample for our family of 5. It is easily pitched. No issues with leaks.
We camp regularly from March-October.
We added the porch in 2014 which provides fantastic extra space (we use as our kitchen) although I loath pitching it as I can never get it to 'sit' right and it gets a bit lairy when the wind is up.
This was my first tent and I have no regrets with this tent, excellent introduction to camping.
We will certainly buy Hi Gear in the future.

We've camped in this twice now for around a week each time.
It takes 2 of us 2 hours to pitch & get everything in set up (including bedding & kitchen set up). We had comments this holiday on how impressive it looks! The 1st camping trip
It held up to some nasty rain & wind & held up no breaks rips or leaks. Loads of living and bedroom space. Porch is ideal for keeping shoes & drying washing in the rain! I took off one point for the Zips, they regularly catch the material and can be hard to open, I do wonder how long they'll last. We returned our 1st porch as the 1st time we went to zip up the door the zip broke! The replacement lasted the whole of our last holiday no problems though. I'd recommend this tent if you want/need the space.

I have recently bought one of these and it is great! Plenty of room for rainy days and we had winds and torrential downpours the first time we put it up for 3 days! Everywhere was flooded but not a drop came in, (except when we opened the door !) very impressed. We have since added a porch and solved that problem. Would definitely recommend this tent and it looks lovely up too. Happy camping !

Really spacious with lots of options. We've had this for about 2 years now and travelled all over with this and it's served us well. Easy and quick to erect, even just with 2 people. If you put it up properly it's good with the wind too. Loads of windows, so in the hot weather you can allow air to flow through. The zips seem to have lasted too. I would certainly recommend this to anyone thinking of buying a tent.

We have just returned from our first trip away in our Kalahari 10 with the porch and the tent has been great. Took just shy of a couple of hours to set up at a leisurely pace with the porch and guy ropes taking up a majority of that time. Expect it to get easier with practice as well. Held up well in the wind and rain with not a drop getting in. We wanted a spacious tent so we weren't cramped in poor weather and it really delivered on that front. On one side we had the two kids in one large sleeping pod and the portable toilet in the other. On the other side we had our bed in one pod and used the other pod as a wardrobe/storeroom. We did all our cooking and eating in the porch which is a great addition to a great tent. Negatives? The ventilation could've been a little better on the hot days but as we were mostly out these times it wasn't a massive inconvenience. Very impressed with our purchase and have no problem recommending.

Very very pleased with our holiday warehouse, upgraded from a Coleman tri-space 6 which was a good tent but in the kalahari you can stand up pretty much everywhere and it has so much space even with 4 kids under 6 and all the kit,we are heavy weight campers so we take every thing and still room to spare. Extra porch is a must for cooking and fridge and stops wet getting trailed into main tent.
Water tight, it recently survived the may bank holiday downpours, one lasted over night for almost 12 hours and not 1 drop got in unbelievable.
Now the bad, only one thing, the vents along each side whilst being ideal when its warm, at Easter 2012 it dropped below freezing and these vents are impossible to seal closed and when windy they flap in the breeze. Any ideas?
This tent is easy to put up with footprint and I can almost do it on my own in about 30mins. The outside goes up enough to get out of rain very quickly indeed and then you can complete inside without a rush.
This is a great tent and as yet I have not seen the same amount of space for the same money from any other manufacturer.

Bought this tent from Go Outdoors a little while ago. Had no where to put it up to test it as it's so big (it's HUGE!) but fortunately our first camping trip this year was in a local site.
It took quite a while to put up the first time, and helps if there's 3 of you, plus an additional 1 to entertain the 18 month old! (2 can do it fine though) Only took time because of it being the first time pitching, it was boiling, and we had to stop for lunch! (Can't ignore a hungry toddler!).
Although it took time, it'll definitely be quicker next time - it's very simple and logical. The porch less logical but again with practice it'll be fine!
The bedrooms are a generous size - we used one end without the divider for a massive king size inflatable bed and a travel cot and had room to move. We put up the bedroom pods at the other end purely to test it and found they were quite useful for storage. Would also be great to use the smaller room for a loo in future!
Although the tent is massive, the porch was a great addition and allowed us to keep cooking equipment separate and not have to drag it inside.
We also bought the footprint and carpet and are very glad we did too. Kept the tent warm underfoot. The tent itself did heat up quite quickly in the sun (was a warm weekend in the day!), but also cooled down quite quickly at night (we had bizarre bitterly cold nights!). There's loads of vents, and having two doors opposite each other was very beneficial to get a decent draft through during the day.
Actually looking forward to testing the tent in the rain! Fantastic size family tent - suited 2 adults and a toddler perfectly (our two helpers had their own tent!) and will be great as the family expands. Not worries at all about having to spend time in there during less than pleasant weather! All the storage pockets are a godsend (and discovered extra ones when packing up too!).
Overall VERY pleased with the tent - can't wait to use it again!

We bought this tent in June 2010, huge tent with loads of space, it has four bedrooms and we only need two so we use the other as a changing room, and storage. Etc. We had a bit of a struggle on the first attempt at putting up, as we were novice at camping but we now have it down to 40 minutes with just 2 adults putting it up. Great value for money though we paid £360.00 it was up for sale at £200.00 4 weeks later. We also bought the footprint and indoor carpet, which we have found makes the inside a little warmer underfoot. We have had lots of people ask us about this tent when we are camping have recommend buying it. Fits in two bags which aren't that heavy although not yet go the knack of getting the tent into the bag as easy. Tried to buy the porch this year but it seems to be sold out everywhere. Just got back from camping this weekend and it rained on the Friday night, we had no leaks and wasnt bothered by the wind.

We upgraded to the Kalahari 10 from a Voyager 6 when it came on offer at Go Outdoors, we got the carpet, footprint and porch too. The footprint is great for protecting the underside of the tent itself on wet/muddy pitches and it gives you a good guide to siting the tent on the pitch before you commit to pegging the tent itself down if you have to reposition. The carpet really enhances the tent IMHO, much nicer to walk on than grey plastic. Porch is very useful for cooking in the rain and keeping wet and dirty kit out of the main tent.
This tent is HUGE. Plenty of room for us, 2 adults and 6 & 8 year old kids. We sleep in one half of the tent and the other side we keep or kit in, partition down we set the camping toilet up in there at night for emergency wee duty, we have weak bladdered kids.
Despite its size it's still easy to erect, 25 mins with the two of us saw it up first time, we have that down to 20 mins now with practice.
We went camping in Vendee last summer for three weeks and this setup was perfect for us. However on night 4 the zip on the main door failed, it came off its track and we couldn't secure it or get it back on the track. Luckily we had the porch and it caused us few problems, gaffer tape to the rescue. On returning home we took the tent back to Go Outdoors expecting them to have it fixed but no, they just gave us a brand new tent there and then. Can't fault their customer service. On our last night we had a really severe gale come in off the Bay of Biscay, the tent stood up magnificently to this but the porch came adrift. The wind got under the flap over the tent top and managed to dislodge the pegs and cause the porch to collapse. There was no fault with the tent or porch though, the site was very sandy and the pegs had very little grip in the soft ground. I should have used broad flat pegs instead of rock pegs.
Highly recommend this tent and the after sales service at Go Outdoors.

Bought tent refurbished from Gelert Seconds Porthmadog on ebay for £130 The Day after it got here (wakefield) Went for a week in north Wales even though it was first time, tent went up with ease. During week we had every weather known to man rain, gale force winds, blazing sun it stood up to everything. Loads of space carpet is a must. Have bought porch since another must.

Manufacturer's Description
An updated version of Hi Gear's extra large tunnel tent, perfect for relaxed family camping holidays.
The Hi Gear Kalahari 10 Elite is a spacious and stable tunnel-style tent with two large partitionable bedrooms in a face-to-face layout, roomy enough for you, your family and all your gear.
Pre-attached high-visibility guylines, reduced pole sleeves, and sewn-in polyethylene groundsheet make pitching the tent quick and easy.
The bedrooms comfortably sleep five at each end of the tent, and have breathable polyester walls. Bedrooms can also be removed, to give you extra storage space, or room for dirty gear.
The huge living space has two large windows and hanging storage pockets to help keep it tidy, organised and liveable. Multiple vents along the roof help air flow throughout the tent.
The sewn-in groundsheet combined with the fire-retardant polyester flysheet (with 4000mm hydrostatic head) give you a fully sealed and ventilated internal environment, so you'll be completely protected from draughts and sustained downpours. The two doors can be propped and extended out to use for extra shelter from rain or stretching the space out for more room if it's sunny.
Other useful features include the water-repellent zips and an electrical cable access point.
