Just spent 12 nights in North Wales in our new Maritsa 700. Anyone who's been there will know that means a good all weather test.

My wife and I got the tent up in about an hour, and by following the advice of loosening off the pin straps first, it was much easier this time round than our first attempt.

Size wise the tent is awesome. I am 6 foot and can stand easily in most parts of the tent. Also the large living area meant that during heavier rain, our family of 4 could sit, read, play games in comfort.

The separate porch area is a godsend. We used it to store food, cooker, shoes and wet items. This means that the living and sleeping areas were kept clean and dry.

On Friday morning just gone, we had what one local described as the worst thunder storm she'd ever seen. It was very wet and extremely windy, but the tent was incredible. A couple of small leaks at the windows as previously mentioned in reviews, but we found pegging the ropes out on these actually stopped this happening.

All in all this is an excellent tent, gaining several comments from other campers on how much they liked it. Even better as we got it on sale from Yeomans. I would recommend the footprint, as it keeps the bottom of the tent clean, and protects from stones and rocks in the ground.

This is an excellent family tent and I would happily have given it top marks had I not experienced problems with leaks. I took the tent back to 'Go Outdoors' and they immediately exchanged it for another one. Sadly that has leaked too despite trying to seal the seams on the windows. I don't think that you should have to take such measures with a new product. This is very disappointing as it is such a great tent. It is interesting that 'Go Outdoors' no longer stock the tent as the the salesmen told me that Vango had decided to modify the design - says it all really. So I am back to Go Outddoors to seek a replacement tent. I am highly envious of the people who, in their reviews, have not experienced the disappointment (leaks) that I have. Overall it is lovely tent but not much use if it leaks like mine has this weekend!

This is a lovely tent, really spacious. Went up quickly with one adult and one child. The layout is great BUT, inside of the first week of using it, in heavy rain over just one night the entire back seam leaked and we were woken by drops of water falling and soaking bedding clothes and carpet. We also noticed a small hole in the front porch, not good for a 2010 model! I wonder if it has since been withdrawn as when we returned the tent to Go Outdoors for a refund (they were superb by the way!), they said they no longer sold it. The man in the store wasn't aware of any issues to do with the tent although he had had one person reporting a leak. But judging by all the comments saying leaks on this forum its obviously a big problem. Shame, we loved the tent!

This tent is amazing. The spacious layout works really well especially with 2 over active toddlers.

We housed all the kitchen food and equipment in the front porch area, closed it off and used the side doors for access, the kids could then run around without us worrying about them running into the stove etc. Brilliant.

Disappointingly we are having to send the tent back for checking as the tent fabric seems to pull along the Red Pole Line whether it is a problem with the poles or fabric we couldn't tell.

Nevertheless I would totally recommend this tent and look forward to our next trip away.

This is our third Vango tent. Bought this as it fits on a C&C club pitch (unlike our Diablo 900XP) and is big enough for a family of 5 with children who need lots of space for comfortable 2-week holidays (unlike the Tigris 600).

Having just returned from 2-weeks in Newquay have to say I have been a little disappointed by this tent. I don't think it was worth the money.

Like others have experienced, all the windows leaked irrespective of the wind direction when it rained (found that if you unzipped the window covers and just let them hang loose it improved the problem a little) and generally found some of the components to be poor quality such as guy ropes. For a steel poled tent, another key reason for buying this tent, I expected more stability in the wind.

For sure the tent is big and for a family of 5 and above provides ample room and I'm sure we'll get a good few years use from it. Despite being a big fan of Vango tents I just haven't been impressed by this tent to encourage others to buy one though, as much as it pains me to say it, I think Outwell probably has the edge over Vango for tents in this bracket.

I had written a review but now returned back from 3 very wet and windy days at Tissington and the tent stood up brilliantly.

Mine had water coming through before but fabsil over the fabric bit of the zips has fixed it.

The problem that we now found though was that with four hangars on the hanging rail has stretched the seam and now leaks so need to try and fix it. (I'm going to buy a floor standing clothes rail which I think would be better as the hanging rail is completely in the middle not really allowing you to get by on one side for storing other things).

The only other negative though it sounds like I want my cake and eat it is that the sheer size of it has meant a problem storing it to dry it off before completely packing as it was raining when I took it down.

Has anyone got any tips on drying it off? Or am I just paranoid that it needs to be completely dry?

Still had a slight issue with the pins but found it easier to put them in with the tent standing up rather than it being on the ground.

The lounge area was great as it sat nine of us (to keep away from the wasps) easily on two picnic tables with ample room. Though are friends did take their smaller tank down in about half the time.

Going to try another long weekend but the size of the tent means that you really need to spend a few nights to make the extra time putting it up and down more worth it.

Well what can I say? we were a bit worried prior to this holiday as the reviews were not looking too good. We had used the tent before but the weather was great and we weren't too far from home. From the other side of the country knowing we were going to have rain I was a little worried. However I was pleasantly surprised. Our first two days saw gale force winds and some rain. Tent stood up to it brilliantly! we did one morning have a couple of drops of water under each window of the main area, however on our last night the heavens well and truly opened and in the morning not a drop!

We've got pitching down to about 35-40 mins, the poles are easiest to do if the tension straps are loosened right off and you put the pins in the other side first, this is what I've found anyway.

Space wise it's huge and more than enough space for the 4 of us. Cooking in the front porch keeps the smells out of the main area too.

All in all my mind is now at ease and I'm really pleased with the tent and would happily recommend to anyone. Though we were asked about it and was told by the person looking that they wanted one too!

We have just had a long weekend away in our Maritsa. We love it. We had a torrential downpour and it did not leak at all!

It's an excellent size, love all the features and the sleeping compartments are really big!

Our very fist time pitching and it took us an hour which I did think was too bad for our first attempt.

We can't wait to go away again in it.

The only thing I would say is to invest in some decent pegs as the ones Vango supply are flimsy.

We are first time campers and decided to purchase this tent for our family of 5 after extensive research (including the reviews on this website). We have not been disappointed. It takes 2 of us approx 45mins to erect and provides spacious watertight accommodation. The sleeping area at the back of the tent feels more secure for our 3 children than other tent alternatives which have pods or sleeping at both ends. We have had lots of admiring comments from fellow campers on the 3 occasions we have used it so far.

We have found through trial and error that it is easier to start putting the upright poles in from the front of the tent to the back. It is quite easy to fold up and get back into its bag with the exception of the footprint which is a very tight fit. We splashed out on the carpet too which we think is now essential at it is warm underfoot and easy to take out and shake when it gets a little grubby. Our only problem is one of the upright poles (a black one) has a crack that has almost sheared through. This may have been our fault being a little aggressive on fitting it to the roof pole but we have ordered a replacement at 12.99 plus p&p so couldn't be bothered to get into an argument with the manufacturer. But all things considered would definitely recommend.

Just returned from a two week holiday one week in Dorset and one week in south Wales. My first review made reference to the leaky windows but after using fabseal I can now give a full marks of 10 out of 10.

I notice that some people are having trouble with the pins and the only advice I can give is make sure the straps which run under the tent are completely loosened off I always do this when I drop the tent and I never have any trouble with the pins. Also it was suggested in one review that the tent is erected like an outwell Vermont, I tried this and it has made it so easy my teenage daughter and I have put this tent up on our own in about 50 mins (at a leisurely pace).

I think I've also managed to convert a non camping husband thanks to this tent and a friend who joined me on the second week fell in love with it too.
