This was our first tent brought for our family of three. Myself being used to smaller hike tents was a bit nervous of the size but once built up and standing inside was thoroughly impressed. The build quality was brilliant and found the tent easy to put up even with a one year old at the hip.

There is plenty of space inside the tent for the odd day when you have to keep a one year old happy. The lay out of the inside pockets was a great advantage for keeping things out of arms reach which was good as well.

As per other peoples comments on the bottom of the door using velcro to close it we found the same a simple zip would have been better.

The florescent guide ropes & holders were a good accessory for night time use as well.

On the whole we found the tent fit for purpose and would recommend it to others. Who Knows we might even go and buy the extension.

We bought the tent, footprint and carpet but not the side extension.

It is very easy to put up and take down. I agree with other posters that the doors would be much better with a zip across the bottom instead of velcro. The other minor problem is that the plastic pegs bent badly when we camped on hard ground with lots of stones, we had a good supply of steel rock pegs so it was not a problem.

I like the steel poles as they seem well made and able to withstand a lots of use and high winds. The fibreglass poles are good too and seem really sturdy. The one across the front seems to direct the rain from running in the open door.

I love the big windows and the fact that I can stand up in the tent. I'm going to buy a couple of poles so we can use the door as a sort of awning in the summer.

Overall we think it is a great tent only let down by the lack of zips across the bottoms of the doors.

We've just returned from a wonderful bank holiday camping in this tent, we haven't been since before we had children 3 years ago and this tent has reignited our passion for camping despite the fact we had 2 toddlers with us! We chose this tent as we wanted one that we wouldn't find too much of a chore putting up and bringing down at weekends as we plan to go quite a lot this year.

We also bought the footprint, carpet and side extension which I defo recommend, we had 20mph winds, rain and sun but no leaks at all and the side extension meant we could still cook and sit outside once the children had gone to bed and the carpet made it feel really comfy inside. The fact that there are so many windows was a big plus for us too, and helped heat the tent up in the mornings. I cant think of any real negatives, except maybe the bedroom fabric could have been a bit darker to help the kids get to sleep quicker, all in all a wicked tent, really glad we chose it!

I bought the Oakland XL as a week-end alternative to our Vermont XL (which is a cumbersome beast for a few nights) It was a toss up between the Nevada M and this. The Oakland won due to more stability (2 steel poles) and slightly more usable living area for those wet wet days!

We used it for the first time for a long weekend in mid April, it was a doddle to put up, 20 mins with two of us (we could probably get this down to 10 with time). It has a lovely spacious feel and ample room for table chairs etc. The weather was good enough to do all the cooking outside so even more space. We went for the carpet and groundsheet as well. The carpet is fantastic and I cannot recommend it enough. Nightime temp. Dropped to 3 degrees, so we had an oil filled radiator in the tent with us and moved it into the (zipped into 1) sleeping area at night. It was nice and toasty!. Surprisingly little condensation in the morning too, even with the vents shut to conserve heat.

I agree with the previous reviewer that the tent flaps are a pain, and to get them fully closed and sealed requires the main flap as well as the mozzi screen to be fastened, so you need to get through two sets of zips when you have to nip out in the night! Come on Outwell sort this out!

We too had creases in the ground sheet but put this down to our poor pitching. The side of the tent (with the side door) also didn't set well with about a 2 - 3 inches gap at the ground, which wasn't a problem this weekend but may be if the wind gets up next time, this could be due to the tent being slightly off centre on the poles, or being new, and it may give a little with use.

I would have preferred a few more pegging points, again for when the wind gets up, and two included awning poles for the front flap would have been nice (as came with our Vermont!). But overall despite all the niggles (hence only 8 stars) we are very happy with it, and will update when we use it in the wind and rain.

We just bought this tent last month and used it last week. The tent has ample space for 2 adults and a child but would be tight for more people as we found when my dad visited! The tent is quite easy to put up but I would watch a video as the instructions are less than a paragraph. There is ample space for the air beds in the pods and we also had a dogs cage in the living area and still had space to move around. The nice thing about this tent is the fact that it erects all as one with the pods already in. The fibreglass poles were colour coded as was the tent so this was really easy to put up. Packing it down was just as easy!

There are adjustable straps all round for pegging down, although there were creases in the groundsheet so I don't think we did this properly. There are numerous windows inside with roll up blinds which was great for the light. Also three vents, one zip up one at the rear of the pods and one over the main door and the final one over a large window, these really do help to keep the condensation down. We only used the side door and everyone got stuck trying to open the door as you have to open both the flyscreen and the outer which is awkward! There are velcro bits at the bottom of the outer door and I felt it would have been better to zip this all the way round but no wind came through as I made sure I reached out at night and velcro's it down.

The main niggle with this side door is the zips run parallel to the steel poles and can be annoying as it is quite close. Also, every single person constantly tripped over the door due to the sig. This I feel could be solved with the ability to zip the floor bit flat to the ground when needed. We only used a tarp for under the tent but I am thinking of buying the footprint as we did get condensation on the windows but it was very hot this week. I think to overcome the zips on the side door it may be worthwhile getting the side extension so you only need to use the flyscreen. I'm only giving this tent an 8 as the zip was annoying and we found the flyscreens were laddered a little.
