I've only had it up in the garden up to now but it did take 2 hours to erect but hopeful of one hour next time. Reading the reviews I have a few comments:

My zips leak too. What's best to seal over them?

I've seen a comment regarding leaving the inner tent fixed in when taking down. Is this possible?

My final comment is there an easier way of getting it up rather than the video where you just sort of gather all the poles up?

We used our Vango Maritsa 700 for the first time at the weekend and were delighted with it.

Considering it was our first time pitching this or any other tunnel tent I think we managed it quite quickly. Getting the pins in the bottoms of the poles was a little awkward, but then I did do it with each pole hoop upright, which may not have helped. But the colour-coding was brilliant and the bedrooms inside went in really quickly as well.

The space inside is huge (or seemed to us after our little Cabanon) and very usable. The bedrooms are spacious and the walk-in wardrobe was very useful, with the hanging rail good for draping towels over. The two big side doors are brilliant, and the mesh coverings a real advantage. When the sun (finally) came out and it got hot in the tent, opening the sides up allowed a nice bit of air in, and the mesh kept the bugs out.

It was the little touches I liked, like the hanging rings for lanterns, vents held open by spring strips, velcro straps to stow the guy ropes, etc.

It did rain (twice, and very heavy) and we had none of the leak problems that others have noted on here. I don't know if it's just that Vango have cured the issue, or we're just lucky with ours, but there was no sign of drips or damp at all after the rain.

I was a little disappointed that the pegs supplied were a bit cheap and flimsy. The campsite (Holmsley) has very hard ground, but I managed to bend more pegs than I think I should have been able to, and even some of the V pegs ended up with the points bent right over, so lets have some decent quality pegs, Vango! Don't be so cheap!

Just got back from a week in our new shiny tent!

Absolutely fantastic tent for a family of 5. Plenty of room, good looking over 'normal tunnel' tents and lots of cool little features.

Warm at night and more than enough ventilation for those hot days. Stood up to some strong winds and rain while we were away. Don't think I can add much more to whats already been said.

We did have a couple of drips under 2 windows on the last night but this was after 12 hours of heavy rain and is easily sorted by dabbing a bit of sealer on the seams on the window flaps that lift up. I have spoken to Vango regarding this and it will not effect warranty. Vango currently have not received any Maritsa's back for leaking issues but have heard rumours regarding claims of this. I was aware of these rumours before I purchased but it's such a fantastic tent and I knew it would be an easy fix with Vango's great support and advice on top.

I considered the bear lake but after looking at both the Maritsa won hands down on space, looks and features.

If your looking for a practical, spacious, easy to put up tent for the family with great value for money then I think you'll be hard pushed to find better.

Well done Vango. 10/10

An excellent tent and one I'd recommend this to anyone. Lots of space for 2 lively under 5's even on wet days. Would love to know how to put this up in 30 mins, takes 2 of us 1hr 5 mins everything is easy until it comes to put the pins in the poles which takes up most of the time.Any one found an easy way to get these in?? On our 1st trip away one of the bendy poles bent on erecting the tent so had to use the spare and now we are finding it difficult to find a replacement as this is not covered under the guarantee! We had the same issue about leaks the two main living are windows and 3 corners but didn't cause too much of an issue. Also the main living area flysheet started to fray! However we did have some strong winds and the tent felt really secure and didn't flap about. It was also great to be able to cook in the porch area away from the children.

Just back from a week in Devon, our second trip in this tent, great tent, great layout.

We still struggle getting the pins in the polls, particularly the second one (poll over the entry from the porch to the main living area). In fact the inner door is hard to close and the material looks under stress - so I think the two are related.

Its a big tent, for 4, on a dry day it looks too big - but that changes once the rain comes and the four of us take shelter inside. Plenty of room.

Leaks, sadly yes, I've sealed the windows (pre-emptive strike based on the reviews here)but need to redo one, no big deal. However there was some water under the sleeping compartments and the leaking window was on the downhill side. My Wife thought the webbing for the internal tent fixtures were damp.

I also noted that if the tent is not taught enough the roof touches the sleeping compartments and moisture transfers between the two.

Our 6 year old came up with a classic . 'Dad, wouldn't it be cool if someone invented a waterproof tent .' - priceless.

I would have given 10/10 if I had no leak.

We've used our Maritsa 3 times now and each time have put it up quicker. There are 5 of us and we put 2 campbeds in the large pod, 1 campbed in the double pod and fit 2 self inflating mats in the smallest pod side by side (this doesn't leave you any floor space but for us works fine).

The middle area is huge and I really like the option of using either door on each side. It's very useful to have the mesh doors on all entrances so the bugs don't get in but you can still air the tent.

The porch at the front is fantastic - plenty of room for the camp kitchen, stove and accessories on one side and the fact that you can open the door fully or only half way is very useful. With all our equipment and food in the porch there was still plenty of room to walk through into the main tent if we wanted.

I agree with the flimsy pole bag - I've put an old pole bag inside the new one and this seems to work fine.

When packing up it's very easy to get back into the bag and it doesn't fill up with air when taking it down making it easy to fold up.

We've also got the groundsheet which goes into the porch area as well so we haven't needed to put down the additional porch groundsheet.

All in all I am very pleased with this tent. We had a new tent last year and found that it took far too long to put up and take down so I sold it. I then did loads of research and found that the Maritsa ticked all the boxes. I would highly recommend it.

I absolutely LOVE this tent! I've camped all my life and have been through many tents in that time, as you can imagine. Well, this one just ticks all our boxes. We're a family of 4 and like to camp in comfort. This is the tent for you, if that's you. Used it for a week so far in Cornwall in mixed weather.

It was easy to put up (took us less than an hour). Now the bedrooms are hung it will be even less next time.

It's very well made - pitches without sags and without having to fiddle around with the guys and positioning.

The enclosed porch is just fantastic - we did all our cooking in there and stored all our kitcheny type stuff and shoes.

The main living area is huge - nothing ever felt in the way and no-one tripped over each other. Because the sides are relatively straight storing things is easy because they don't butt out into the rest of the tent. We had a cupboard, chairs, table all in there with loads of space to spare.

The bedrooms are ample - the large bedroom takes our double-height, Queen size airbed with space to spare. The end smaller bedroom is large enough for 2 people and the middle one I would say realistically is just for one (this one can be used as a wardrobe if you want it to instead).

Having the side doors is brilliant - you can use them as access points, or just as needed ventilation.

We did not have a leak from anywhere.

All in all just brilliant.

We bought this about four weeks ago and have just returned from a long weekend in it.

We loved it as there was loads of space for two adults, two children and a dog.

Great to have the porch for shoes, cooking stuff and dog bed. Really roomy inside, especially comfy with the carpet. Lots of rooms in bedrooms and lots of handy storage pockets too.

All the windows and doorways meant it was very easy to see what was going on around the tent even when inside it (handy when you have two children on the loose).

However. We too had the leaky windows issue after one night of light rain. I was so disappointed!

It leaked from the bottom corners of all four external windows (so that's eight places in total!). It's now back with Vango for testing, and hopefully, fixing. Apparently they've had a few back and can only imagine they're going to have quite a few more!

We're really hoping it gets fixed and sorted as we love everything else about it.

Oh, and do watch the video on youtube described below - we put it up this way and it's so much easier than the way Vango show you to do it (unless you have three adults as they do in the Vango video!).

Just back from a 10 day holiday - our first family camping trip (2 adults, 2 children and dog)- and we were really glad we picked the Maritsa.

Huge amount of space with the built in porch being useful as a kitchen area. The middle bedroom was great for storing all our stuff and the large bedroom had enough space for a double airbed, the dog's bed and still room round the sides.

It took us about an hour to pitch and getting the pins into the poles is quite tricky but once it's up it's worth the effort.

It rained heavily on our first night and we did have a few drips in near the windows (very little though). I sprayed Fabsil on the outer and inner fabric around the windows which seems to have done the trick. We had no problems with condensation at all.

A great family tent.

Just returned from a 3 night/4 day camping trip in our Vango Maritsa 700.

Took 2 adults about 1 hour to pitch the tent - I'm not very tall but even my 6' partner found it tricky to support the large pole arches while I hammered in the pegs! As already mentioned the Vango video 'glosses over' this bit, and they appear to pitch it using 3 adults. Definitely recommend a couple of practice pitches in the garden before you leave for a trip!

The bedrooms and living space is huge, and very cosy with the addition of a carpet. Well laid-out with lots of clever little storage and tidy extras. So far we've found the seams and zips to be leak-free, and it held up well on a windy exposed campsite. Invest in some heavy-duty tent pegs, though.

Overall, great value for money. Although we'll be paying more for larger pitches as it's such a monster tent, the Maritsa should see our family of 5 through a few years of camping holidays yet.
