I got this tent for a bargain price at Go-outdoors, as we were going to by a new tent anyway. We decided to go for this tent, and what a tent it is. We used it this year in Girvan. We only put one room up, which is a great Idea as it leaves you plenty of room for your accessories (table, chairs, kids toys etc.). It worked great in the wind and rain. And probably more importantly it only took us 20 minutes to erect. Overall, Easy to erect, spacious, comfortable, and very good value for money. I would (am) definitely recommending this tent.

Have just returned from weekend with the Kalahari 10 and also have week booked in the UK this summer with it. The weather was dry apart from one shower so can't really say how it stands up to heavy rain but on a night it was cold and the tent still felt quite warm. As there was only 2 of us we only put up one side of the inner tents(normally there's 3 of us). The tent is very large and we had plenty of space. Beware, however, when booking sites as some may charge extra due to it's large size (7m x 4m). Very easy to put up. Only took 2 of us about half an hour. Great tent and would definitely recommend!

We bought this tent last year in the Go Outdoors sale and we love it, we are a family of 5 (3 kids under 4) and there is so much room, it's almost like your not camping!
We had a couple of local weekends and then we went for our 10 day break in Devon and arrived in torrential rain and howling winds, with the kids in the car hungry and screaming we decided to go for it, and although very wet, blown and battered it still only took us 40 mins!
We bought the Gelert Meridian 10 carpet which we got cheaper than the Go-Outdoors carpet and we bought the Gelert Horizon enclosed porch which is just the icing on the cake, it does make it a VERY large tent, so be careful when booking sites but I have to say we have stayed on a both small and large campsites and never had problem.
We do our weekend camping with other families usually and now 3 of us have this set-up, it is such a reasonable way to get going!
In April we're going with the 5 of us plus the in-laws for a night!
Would highly recommend. (the tent that is, not the in-laws!)

We have had 3 successful holidays in our Kalahari 10 this year, and have kept warm and dry in some really heavy rain. I have had some problems getting the elastics to reach when fitting the bedrooms, and have now bought some extension elastics to help, am I doing something wrong, or is this a common problem? A porch will be available from Go Outdoors in the spring next year, but if you cant wait till then, you can buy one from Gelert stockists for the Beyond Meridian 10, which is exactly the same tent, and can be purchased for as little as £62.99. We have found the tent really spacious even for our family of 7, still managing to keep a bedroom free for luggage etc, well worth the money, and looks impressive when on the campsite!

This was my first time camping trip never really slept in a tent. Decided on Buying the Kalahari 10 from Go Outdoors (originally were going to get Kalahari 8 but the store had run out so we brought the 10 man for the same price as the 8 man.) We went for 3 nights to a campsite near us. There were 2 adults & two dogs. We had already had a trail run at putting the tent the weekend before which took about 1 hour. We arrived at the campsite late on Friday night and the tent took half an hour to put up. The insides were easy to fit and I soon had the tent feeling like a cosy little home from home! On the second night the wind got up quite high but the tent stood firm and there were no drafts coming through anywhere.
The little velcro straps on the inside are also a neat touch as it allowed us to hang the dog leads on as well as the lanterns, the pockets on the inside were also very useful for storing things however care needs taking as not to put anything too heavy in them. I would recommend this tent to everyone as it is nice and spacious, easy to put up and in my opinion good value for money

Brilliant, huge tent, easily put up(we are only beginners), able to stand up throughout, withstood heavy rain and strong winds. Two large sleeping compartments which each easily hold two double airbeds, although we only used one bedroom to give us massive living space. 2 adults and 2 kids. Value for money at go outdoors for £162.00 during a july 09 promotion.

We have just spent our 1st time away in this tent also at Rivendale and what a nice tent this is. We slept 7 with ease 3 adults, 12yr old, 15yr old and 17yr old. Loads of space for storage and a plus is that you can separated sleeping compartments with removable walls. Very easy to erect, we had rain and wind and were kept dry and safe. Would like to find an annexe/extension for door opening would make it easier if its wet rather than going straight into tent. We paid £189.99 from Go Outdoors a real bargain. This is definitely a tent to have, it is huge.

Bought the Kalahari 10 from Go Outdoors for £189 and also purchased the carpet £44.99 which is fab. Easy tent to put up (about 30 minutes) even though it's a big tent. We have used to twice so far and will be away again bank holiday. I would recommend to anyone. Lovely big area in the middle and didn't feel cramped. There were 2 adults and 3 kids using it. Great tent great price.

Just come back from our first camping weekend with the kalahari 10. Erected and all secured within 35 mins and that was just myself and 16 year old son which also included fitting 2 poles wrongly (looked at instructions after fitting first 2 poles I know its a man thing).
Had rain all night Saturday up in sunny Talgarth and it held up without any incident whatsoever in fact very cosy and warm. We slept 8 in there and felt we had loads of room .
I have no real criticism of the tent whatsoever so all I can say was I had a bargain at £189.00.

My wife and I have just returned from a ten day camping holiday in France with this tent. We are both new to camping and only picked up the Kalahari 10 on the day we left, with no chance to practice putting it up due to bad weather. On arrival at our campsite the rain started to pour down, but undaunted, and desperate for a cup of tea we set about unpacking it. Within an hour the tent was up, guy ropes adjusted and secure and the kettle happily whistling away.
I feel I have to add that this is by no means a ten person tent and in my opinion you would have to be very well acquainted to share it with another couple, but we wanted plenty of room for storage and living space. We paid £180 pounds (RRP £500) at Go Outdoors for this tent and couldn't be more pleased, it was spacious, comfortable and simple to erect.
On the fourth day at our site a bigger pitch became available, so rather than pack everything away, we simply unpegged the tent, pushed the poles together, (leaving them in the outer tent pole sleeves) and carried it to the other pitch, thankfully there was no wind or we might have been blown back to the UK.
On the last night, at around 2am we were battered by high winds, rain, and a ferocious thunder storm, the force of the wind pushed the end pole inwards, but it sprung back into shape when the wind eventually dropped. The tent stood up to the storm wonderfully, and not one of the seams leaked and although frightening we felt safe inside. I really cannot fault this tent, but make sure you are given a large pitch as it really is huge.

Manufacturer's Description
An updated version of Hi Gear's extra large tunnel tent, perfect for relaxed family camping holidays.
The Hi Gear Kalahari 10 Elite is a spacious and stable tunnel-style tent with two large partitionable bedrooms in a face-to-face layout, roomy enough for you, your family and all your gear.
Pre-attached high-visibility guylines, reduced pole sleeves, and sewn-in polyethylene groundsheet make pitching the tent quick and easy.
The bedrooms comfortably sleep five at each end of the tent, and have breathable polyester walls. Bedrooms can also be removed, to give you extra storage space, or room for dirty gear.
The huge living space has two large windows and hanging storage pockets to help keep it tidy, organised and liveable. Multiple vents along the roof help air flow throughout the tent.
The sewn-in groundsheet combined with the fire-retardant polyester flysheet (with 4000mm hydrostatic head) give you a fully sealed and ventilated internal environment, so you'll be completely protected from draughts and sustained downpours. The two doors can be propped and extended out to use for extra shelter from rain or stretching the space out for more room if it's sunny.
Other useful features include the water-repellent zips and an electrical cable access point.
