We bought this tent as weekender for family of 6 as it is so easy to put up and there is bags of space inside.

We have used it for all of us to camp in and as an extra living space with none of the inners in when we have been away with the big tent. The only down side is with the small sleeping pod in the front you do lose a lot of living space but we worked around that by sleeping the kids in the big pod and we slept in the living area and just dumped the airbed in the big pod during the day, it was a bit draughty but we don't mind roughing it a bit.

Performance wise this tent is a star, we have had it out in all weathers for up to 2 weeks at a time and in all the years the only damage we have had is one broken pole during near hurricane conditions, just remember not to guy it out too tightly and it can absorb most of the gusts and just bounces back. The broken pole was easy enough to fix.

I have never had a problem with getting the poles in or with the fabric not sitting evenly, maybe this is something that has arisen with newer models. Ours is a grey colour and the fabric has faded slightly over the years and could probably do with being re waterproofed although as yet we haven't had any leaks.

Saying it is an 8 berth is a bit of a stretch, we have done weekends with 6 (2 adults and 4 kids)and found the space adequate however for longer camps we have only had the kids in there. For a family of 4 this would be ideal with sufficient sleeping space and plenty of living area.

I love this tent and dread the day I have to part with it, it is so easy to put up and down and very reliable. When packing away in the rain we have even lifted the ground sheet and wheeled the trailer inside so the only thing going home wet is the flysheet.

This is a tunnel tent with a fly outer and hanging inners.

There are 2 inners, sleeping 6 at the rear of the tent and 2 more at the front of the tent where there is an exit.

There are two side exits in addition to the front exit so you can still get in and out if sleeping 8. Each entrance has a mesh that zips separately from the outer to help in keeping heat/flies in/out.

The middle area will comfortably house a coolbox etc with four chairs but not sure about 8 people in that section.

The middle section has a removable ground sheet.

The two hanging sleeping inners had ground sheets sewn in.

The front entrance can be turned into a canopy with extra poles provided.

There are plenty of clear plastic windows on the side and front and one smaller triangular one on top.

The tent takes 20 mins for us amateurs to put up but the poles are not easy to get through into tent material so that the tent is rarely symmetrical. This means one side is often 3 inches above the ground whilst the other has it's flaps (mudwalls?) on the ground.

There are extra inners to divide the sleeping areas into 4 sections of two.

It has never leaked over the 3 years use and we have had heavy rain.

Poles are colour coded and strong.

Floor size is 620cm x 340 cm, room for guy lines extra.

Manufacturer's Description

Aztec Sala 8 man tunnel tent has ring and pin for ease of set up, the hydrostatic head is 4000 mm which is one of the highest specs that you can get, the tent is fire retardant, which is so important if you value the lives of your family, it has 4 bedrooms and a large living area, you can stand up in it in the bedrooms and the living area,(unless you are a very tall,) it has three doors, one of which is at the end of the tent, so if you want to you can take out the bedroom at that end and use that area for storage, it has mudwalls to stop the wind and water, continuous pole sleeving to aid set up, colour coded poles, the list goes on and on. The Aztec Sala 8 man tent has four sections for sleeping 2 people making it a great tent for a group of friends or a familly to live in. One of the sleeping areas is seperated from the others so it could be used for putting the 'snorer' in your group in or could be used as an extra storage space for bikes etc.. A porch area means you can sit outside in the shelter if it is raining.
