2 Reviews of the Bison Tundra 4 Lavvu
By: Jorddy Reason: I own(ed) one Made in: 2013 Rating:
Well I picked mine up from militarymart.Co.Uk. They are selling them well below the rrp. The quality of them are great and really easy to erect. I can't wait to use mine in anger as I have only put it up in the garden!
The tent comes in a neat bag which is no bigger than he average 2 man tent bag. Although it will be too heavy for a hiking tent, it would easily go on the back of a motorcycle .
Right I'm going to start saving my penny's for a stove now!

Although RRP for this tent is/was £517.50, I bought mine through littlebarefoot.Ie for 404.00 Euros.
We used it last week in strong winds and with some heavy rain and it was as solid as a rock. This is a fantastic lavvu. Putting it up is so fast - less than 10 minutes from opening the bag to having it set up! It doesn't come with a ground sheet - we use a footprint from an old tent, secured with pegs and clingons, in the back half of the lavvu, and leave the front half just as grass. This gives a good storage area in front, and space in the back half for 4 people to sleep comfortably. Nice mosquito net inside front doors.
Quality of this tent is brilliant. Some of the guy lines (which don't come fitted) were slightly hanked. This, I think, is where the machine that folds them slightly catches the inner of the rope and pulls it through the outer. Easy to sort out though. The tent stands very well without the guy lines attached, but I like to fit them anyway just in case the wind gets up too strong. I replaced the standard black sliders with Line-Loks from Clamcleat.Com (highly recommend them as well!).
HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. Looking forward to using ours again later in the year for some wilder camping :)
