3 Reviews of the Blacks Constellation Serpens
By: John+Kate Reason: I own(ed) one Made in: 2013 Rating:
Bought the tent for its value for money (we managed to buy it half price in the sale) and the fact that we could stand up in it.
Given we haven't pitched a tent for more than a year or two it was remarkably easy to pitch and whilst we didn't quite make the pitching time of 20 minutes, we weren't far off. The colour coded poles make it fairly idiot proof and were easy to feed through and clip in place. The luminous guy ropes are easy to peg out and clearly visible in the dark. Lots of extra pegs provided.
The inside is very spacious even with both bedroom areas in place. More than enough room for a couple of chairs and a reasonable sized table.
The bedroom areas comfortably take a double blow up bed and have storage pockets.
The LED lighting is a nice touch and you can move it easily.
Tensions cords in the main body of the tent and both bedrooms.
Only minor niggle would be that the doors don't zip right round so a bit draughty although think the fact that the ground sheet is a good 3' - 4' high at the doors would stop any rain coming in.
Looking forward to many more trips away in it and to achieving the pitching time!

We have just purchased this tent as we were looking for quality, combined with size. We absolutely love it.
Very simple to erect and I love the LED lighting system which you can add to.
It is also VERY big. We can both stand up straight in it. Although, when it comes to putting the bedrooms in, I cant reach the top hook. A job for my husband.

Have now been away in our Serpens tent about 8 or so weekends and so far it's performed very well. Our last trip was to the Lakes and the weather was foul, so foul in fact that we lost our gazebo! Normally we only erect one of the two internal bedrooms giving us more space inside, however due to the awful weather we put both up putting all our clothes in the second bedroom to keep day. And over the three nights of torrential rail and wind absolutely no damp got in. Impressed us!
Comes with a 'lighting system'. Flash name for a simple string of two LED lights but they work well.
All in all a very good, simple to erect tent. Even comes in a bag that doesn't require a degree in origami to get the tent back in it after the first time you get it out.

Always wanted to move to the country? With the Serpens Tent, you can. Well, at least for the weekend. Sleeping up to four people, this ultra spacious, multi-purpose tent can be arranged to suit you and your camping company.
Take the kids and pitch as an all-in-one or adventure with your other half and friends by setting up one inner tent. Inside, you'll find state-of-the-art technologies such as multi-directional L.E.D lighting for finding your gear in the dark and Silverskin fabric with UV protection for shielding those harmful rays.
And as for the pitter patter of rain, hearing it is where the sensation ends thanks to the Serpens' 3000mm Hydrostatic Head.
