1 Reviews of the Adventure
By: Valk_scot Reason: I own(ed) one Made in: 2001 Rating:
I bought this tent from a local Ebay seller for the mighty sum of £1.00. I was actually looking for a small marquee shaped tent for our craft group to use at demos and this one fitted the bill as to size, ease of erection and most definitely budget. However once I'd got it home and looked at it closely I was deeply impressed with it and decided to use it myself for camping.
Mine is the #1 version which does not have a window in the front door area, or the stub canopy. It does have a sturdy PVC roof and cooking area to the rear plus two vis a vis pods that will fit a double airbed or two single SIMs. The front door area can be unzipped and rolled up or there is an insert door with two way zips. There are zip down vents in the sleeping areas. You can sleep four in this tent comfortably with not much living area or you can leave one pod out and have more room for two people.
Usual fantastic Cabanon build quality, my tent felt nearly new despite it's age of ~ 20 years.
Downsides? Almost impossible to get the matching sun canopy which would be useful given the lack of a window, you can't open the door in the rain without this as the #1 has a flat front. (The #2 Adventure has a stub canopy and a window.) You can pole out the front door area despite the lack of pole eyelets, I am going to add these. You could fit a tarp onto the pole spikes at the front to create your own cooking area and canopy.
Absolute ace bargain though and currently my favourite tent. I can put it up on my own despite being a short and feeble middle aged female. Pole bag is a brute to carry though! A canopy would make this perfect, fingers crossed.
