9 Reviews of the Andorra

By: OberonFoto  Reason: I own(ed) one  Made in: 2003   Rating:

This is the Rolls-Royce of tents. Have had our since 2003, used at least once a year since then. Its a pleasure putting up and knowing that everyone else on the site is watching and thinking 'That's a great tent'. Have just got a zip in Utility Annexe and sun canopy for her and can't wait to get her out again and try them out.

We have two kids 9one 6 one 3) and they both love her to bits. Pity it is no longer made but they come up on ebay now and again so grab one if you can!

I bought this tent second-hand and it is like new still even though it is about 4 years old. The quality is excellent. I can say through experience that it survives force 9 gales and heavy prolonged torrential rain. What a tent! Attwoods still sell the Andorra. The layout is brilliant, especially for families as it has a rear door and separate kitchen area. Sun canopy I would advise.

I can't think of one negative. Brilliant.

I don't often burst into print about a particular tent, but this one is so good, it deserves a mention.

Advertised as a 4 berth, this tent is brilliant for two adults plus a child. The living area is uncluttered, as all the debris lives behind a curtain in the kitchen area next to the very useful back door, the sleeping area is big enough for three friendly people, and with the roll up and zip out doors, the ventilation is second to none.

From car engine off to plonk yourself down with tea/coffee is around 45 real minutes, with another 10 minutes for the canopy if you have one.

Difficult to find things to criticise, if you can see past the quirky Cabanon curtain patterns. If you're looking for a well made frame tent, this has got to be it. This Andorra hits the mark so well that our Athena is now surplus to requirements. And that says it all.

If Carlsberg made tents.

I have never given a tent 10 out of 10 before and to be honest, never thought that I would!

I cannot find ANY faults with this fantastic tent, the build quality is fantastic the canvas is exceptional, the layout is the best i've seen on any tent before (and we've had a few!)

The Andorra takes about 20 minutes for 2 of us to pitch including pegging out and we can usually be 'moved in' within an hour once we have added the ground sheet, curtains, roof lining canopy etc.

The bedroom pod is just the right size for the 3 of us and fits a single and double air bed, no problems, the idea of the back door and separate curtained off kitchen area is great, it means that all the messy kitchen gear is out of sight and does not take up valuable space in the living area :-) . We have spent 2 weeks in this tent and even when stuck inside on a wet day , we still had ample room even though this is one of smaller frame tents available from Cabanon.

The zip out panel is also a plus and I have just (finally) got my hands on the utility annex to add extra storage space to the tent, the canopy is another great add on and adds to the luxurious feel of this tent.

All-in-all, I would without a doubt say that this is the best tent we have EVER owned and would definitely recommend it to anyone going down the canvas route, It feels safe, warm, is VERY stable and definitely has all the comforts of home.

LOVE IT!

We love our Andorra both being pensioners it is easy to erect we use it for our main destination but use our Vango Beta en route. The Andorra has been as far south as Narbonne as far north as Bretignolles, as far east as The Rhine, west as far as St George de Didonne, plus a few trips down the Loire and up to Lake Annecy in the Alps. You probably get the idea that we love France, well quite right we do ! We will keep camping as long as our health and mobility allow. Next trip is to Eguisheim near Colmar in the spring, summer will be in Le Barcares near Perpignan. Love the web site !

We have used our Andorra on sunny and wet and stormy british holidays and can not fault the tent in any way. Always dry , stable and spacious. Cabanon tents are superb and we also own a larger 6 berth on the same design, the Aruba. High sided to make full use of the floor area, well made, robust and sturdy. A great pvc water tight roof and well planned floor area. We purchased a side sun canopy, bedroom annex and utility annex that fit all 'A'class Cabanon tents, so we have the use of these on both the aruba and andorra. This optimises the versatility of these tents. The sleeping berths on the cabanon takes 2 x 1200mm wide double air beds, sleeping 4 adults. Ideally, I wish the berths were a touch wider as many air beds are now 1400mm wide. This is my only small gripe but other than this, buy one and enjoy years of dry cosy holidays in any weather.

We have owned and used the Cabanon Andorra for the past 5 years or so and have found it to be a great tent for 2 adults and a child. I'm not sure how they can say it's a 4 berth tent although the bedroom pods may vary. Ours has 1 pod with a hanging curtain. I love all the features of this tent except the fact it is so bulky and heavy. We have got the pitching off to a tee now and can complete it in under 30 minutes . All the extras take longer! Because you can buy various accessories it is very versatile.

The back door is a useful feature in the middle of the night if you get my drift! Also I wouldn't be without the sun canopy.

Our daughter has an Andorra, so I have both pitched and used it.

Though classified as a four berth, this is a great tent for two adults, I reckon, since you can simply roll and toggle up the dividing curtain in the single inner tent to create one big inner; ideal for those folk who like to use one of the larger, high airbeds.

The layout is excellent; I particularly like the rear door and storage / designated kitchen area (with ventilated window), which is separated from the living area with a curtain / doorway. It keeps the clart out of the main area and also out of sight. I guess you could easily site a kitchen tent or toilet tent to the rear and use the second doorway for easy access.

As on our Espace, the front of the tent can be zipped and toggled up, making this a great tent for using in warmer climes. You can also unzip and toggle up a side panel on this tent (on newer models this panel simply zips out completely and you can add either a bedroom annexe or a utility extension).

This model is now discontinued by Cabanon, which is a shame because it is an excellent, easy to pitch and use frame tent with some great features.

The Cabanon Andorra is the perfect tent for two adults and two young children. It is very stable, and looked after correctly will last for over 20years without letting you down. It is without doubt one of the easiest family tents to erect that I know of, and as it is a cotton tent you can cook in the purposely designed kitchen that can be shut of when not in use, having two doors this allows a good flow of cool air in hot whether.

You can also add an extra bedroom or a kitchen /toilet extension to the removable panel on the left, and role up the front panel on very hot days.

Yes in my opinion this is the best designed tents ever made, and perfect for the couple who like their camping comforts.
