4 Reviews of the Pyramide 4
By: SimonPk Reason: I own(ed) one Made in: 2002 Rating:
I am desperately looking for a set of poles for the Cabanon Pyramide IV tent. Any advice or sale of old poles would be really welcome? Even a copy of the original design would be useful. I have tried Cabanon and they are unable to provide the poles (or even the designs!) This is a great tent and in great condition but obviously useless to us without the poles

Have moved on to a motorhome, but kept this tent for the occasional visitor overflow in the back garden. Key for us is that you can stand up in the centre, yet it's always rock steady in any wind due to its shape and the number of pegs. There's an endless number of permutations for the front wall - all closed up and snug, covers rolled back off the windows to let in iight but keep out wind, flaps rolled back for maximum light and air. We can add the extra awning at the front, which is ideal for bike storage. We did find it took an hour or so to put up /take down, so it wasn't ideal for touring - brilliant as a home base to radiate out from, however. Being canvas it can be re-proofed and there's no condensation, but it takes more space (best with a roof rack) and is heavier than a nylon tent. It looks so quirky too. We love it.

I too have a Pyramide 4 (the slightly smaller versionof the Pyramide 6) and all the comments are true, it is warm, strong and fast to put up or take down, I simply adore it - I no longer have tent envy when camping. I look at people's nylon tents and just can't get excited like I do when I see mine.
Mine is also old (over 10yrs at a guess) 2nd hand via ebay - best thing I ever bought.

I have the Pyramide 4 so it's slightly smaller than the six. I agree with Davebakerpurton when he says it is robust, easy to erect and stable. I have had mine for three years and I use it for weekend camping. I absolutely love it. It is so quick to put up taking only minutes to get the fly sheet up which is what you want when the weather is bad. It is warmer than the synthetic tents so can be used with confidence earlier and later in the season. No condensation problems here! Mine has also withstood everything the British weather can throw at it only to stand tall and stay put. 100% Brilliant. Next to my folding camper it is tops for being a great all rounder.
