5 Reviews of the Avior X3

We got a few of these for our Explorer Scouts. They used them for DofE hike (very lightweight) - bit of a squeeze for 3 but they managed (ideal for 2, luxury for 1!). Just back from Gilwell Wintercamp where they coped admirably in howling gale, pouring rain, frost and a mudbath around them. Remains to be seen how clean they wash up ! Highly recommended.

I've owned this tent for a short time now and couldn't be more pleased with it.
For a relatively lightweight hiking tent for one, it would be hard to top.
I almost went for the two man version, but am glad to have opted for the 3 man. This has left plenty of room for gear, and some much needed 'faffing about' space, for changing clothes etc. Fitting 2 in this tent with gear would be a squeeze. 3, impossible unless you were very small and on extremely good terms.
For the price, It can't be beat. The only change I would make would be to make the colour a bit more subtle. It's not garish, but brighter than my taste usually dictates.
I recommend whole-heartedly.

I bought this tent in preparation for a Mountain Leader course in Snowdonia having searched the web for a range of reviews. Having been to Wales several times I knew what the weather could be like, and I had requirements of excellent weatherproofing, quick pitching, stability and lightweight. Being a little indulgent, I also like lots of space to myself, hence the 3 man tent for one!
This is proving over and over again to be a great buy. Having taken it to the Lake District and wild camped at Angle Tarn, below Bowfell, it has lots of room for two. We managed to get two 65l expedition sacks in the porch, plus boots and cooking gear so I'm not sure what one of the other reviewers was doing! If you wanted to sleep 3, you'd need to know the other two very well. On expedition in the Carneddau, pitched at 2500ft on bog in pouring rain, this proved itself well nigh flawless. It was one of the very few tents not to allow water in through the groundsheet (including the instructors North Face tent),nor the flysheet and was pitched in 5 minutes. The reflective guy line anchors proved really helpful in finding the wild campsite on the night navigation exercise!
This is palatial for one, roomy for two and light enough to carry on your own.
Couldn't recommend it more - fantastic quality, cheap to buy and a joy to own.

I like this tent! I've used it in France in the heat and in the UK in freezing cold and driving rain, no problems and for 1 person it's massive!
The two doors is good for ventilation, and the small end is good for storing food, or wet kit. In France it served as my 'fridge'.
It certainly kept the rain out too. This was despite recently having a squirrel attack it and savaging the groundsheet. It was still dry in the driving rain.
It really is a well designed tent, and the only thing I think I would like is a more squirrel proof door and tarp please Coleman! Replacement inners are £52-50 by the way.

Nice lightweight tent that's very easy to pitch. Great features including reflective guy ropes for midnight toilet stops, colour coordinated poles for night time pitching. It can however be a little tight with 2 people and all your kit as the awning is only big enough for one of my wife's smaller hand bags. We we're over the moon with the tent up until the day of rain which seemed a little too much after the night of midges. We had to stay inside for a good 12 hours. Which ended up with a few drips but no midgies. I guess the proof will be in the pudding when we send it back to colemans and see if the replacement is more water repellent. Just a note I'm 5'9' and my wife's 5'0.5' (the 0.5 means everything) and it was a tight fit for us with a nights gear.
