7 Reviews of the Celsius Duo 5

We bought this tent the year our first child was born as we had a tiny two-man before! We thought really carefully about what we wanted as we like our tents to last as long as possible. Now we have 2 children aged 7 and 4 and it's still going pretty strong! The plus points are the large and high living area which is tall enough for my husband (6'2') to not complain too much, and also for us to be able to sit out the odd rainy day. The large doors make it nicely airy in hot weather too. On the down side, the height does make it vulnerable to wind and we did crack a pole in a spring storm on the side of a seaward hill in North Devon once! Also when we've been really unfortunate with weather we've wished for a porch/awning to be able to make a cuppa while stuck indoors. I think we may last another year before we need a bigger tent with two bedroom areas.

This is a beautifully spacious tent, warm, dry, well ventilated with room for a family, or truly luxury camping for two, like us. Easy and light to put up and take down, and very rain resistant. The downside of such a size is that it is not so good in the wind unless you add extra guy lines and pegs, especially on the back bedroom wall which is very vulnerable to bending under wind pressure. Then you find that there is nowhere to attach the extra lines so you tie them around the exposed pole areas which then makes the Celcius very stable, even in heavy gusts on cliff top sites. Two very big doors make it almost a Gazebo when opened. Better made than the newer Coleman models, a real pleasure to own. Highly recommended provided you finish the manufacturers job by attaching extra guys and pegs.

This tent is great. We're a family of four with two children aged 4 and 1yr old. The sleeping area is easily big enough for a double mattress, single mattress and a travel cot with ample space for bags and to move around/get dressed etc. Headroom in living area is great and plenty of space for all our equipment. Very very easy to erect with two people but I have put the tent up on my own in approximately 30mins including pegging down. Tent is easier to erect and to fold away if you remove the zipped in ground sheet and bedroom 'pod'. Very easy to get back in bag with poles and pegs separate from tent 'canvas'. Great ventilation options with vents to rear and option to open front and back doors and get a wonderful through draft on hot days! Recently withstood heavy rain and high winds on cliffs at Filey with no problems at all. Would definitely recommend to others.

I love this tent - so quick and easy to put up, yet very spacious! we had one couple come to do a close inspection on our last holiday, after watching how quick we got it up!

We haven't had any troubles with leaks yet - and we have had it up in some fairly brutal wind/rain.

I like the fact that the sleeping area is one big room - this makes it a good family tent (for younger children) as you can keep a watch on them in the night if they are woken by noises etc.

Amazingly it also seems to go back into it's bag quite easily (my previous tents used to be a bit of a struggle!).

Excellent tent, easy to put up especially when its windy! Although there are only two of us who sleep in it, the living area will take 6 people on camping chairs if the weather is bad. Loads of room, withstands the elements well, only drawback as mentioned in other reviews is the door lets the water in when you open it in wet weather.

Loads of space and sturdy in bad weather, performed well in general but I found the slant of the entrance a problem as in wet weather when you open the front door rain comes in to the living area. However for a good quality basic touring tent it represents good value for money. Lovely in hot weather to have both front and back entrances open.

Easy to put up. Very stable. Large sleeping/living area. Only two of us and dog so plenty of room for gear. Good ventilation with front and back door and vents at sides. Does everything it says in the manufacturers description. Very satisfied.
