5 Reviews of the Evanston 6

This is the first tent we have bought so cannot compare it to any other tent. We found it fairly easy to put up, once we had spent time on line looking for hints and tips, as the instructions are useless. It is very light which whilst nice in the day, made it difficult to get the children to sleep before it was dark. We were very pleased with the size of the bedrooms and it has good head room - important for my 6'+ tall husband. It could be improved by adding somewhere to hang a light.

Bought the Evanston from yeomans camping online and was delivered on the morning of our camping trip which left no time to check contents. On arrival on site found a problem the poles sent in the pack were wrong ( 4 long poles not 2 short 2 long) could not put up tent properly and found 3 holes , 1 outside and 2 in main groundsheet. Yeomans exchanged tent which I collected from the nearest store , this tent is fine .The tent is great for families , 2 bedrooms or 3 can be set up, and its waterproof, it rained for 2 days non stop and it kept us dry , have now purchased the side canopy to extend the storage , living area. Overall a good spacious tent thats easy to erect ( as long as you have the correct poles).

We are first time campers. We thought the instruction leaflet attached could have been clearer & seemed to assume prior knowledge but we had help to put it up and once we had seen how to do it it was simple. We had looked inside lots of tents before buying and really like this design of having rooms opposite sides of the 'living' area. The bathtub style groundsheet also kept everything nice and dry in wet weather. The ventilation also seemed good for a tent. We are very pleased with it and would thoroughly recommend it. The only thing we thought could improve it would be somewhere to hang lanterns and more storage pockets.

We had a rage Tromso 8 man which was massive but after four years and a night of camping, we gave up on it and on our camping trip bought the Coleman Evanston and it is great you can stand up in bedrooms and plenty of space for 5 of us. The sewn in ground sheet is an added bonus too which sold it too me as well as the price from blacks rrp £329 we bought it for £229 but with added discount £211. Already looking at the porch which you can get for it and carpet, because with rage tromso you cant get replacement poles. We managed to get tent up in less than half hour, where our old tent was couple of hours, because you had to attach bedrooms but with the Evanston the bedrooms are attached. Cant praise this tent enough. Cant wait to get away again

We are first time campers and swapped the Eurohike Buckingham for the Coleman Evanston. The extra money made a huge difference. Couldn't believe how quick and easy it was to erect this tent. My husband hated the idea of camping, but even he was impressed. It's an all in one, which cuts the time down dramatically when pitching, less exhaustion and more time to play! It has a 4000mm hydrostatic head and a fully sewn in bathtub style groundsheet, made it alot warmer and dryer. We have 3 children so there wasn't a lot of room for storage as all 3 rooms were in use, but we couldn't afford an 8 man tent of this quality. It's a light colour, so makes it nice and bright inside. It also has luminous ropes, so was a great help. Well worth buying, I'd definitely recommend this tent.
