10 Reviews of the Ridgeline 4

Just used for the first time. Loved it! Light weight, easy to erect. Living area could be slightly larger. However as there was only me & my son we had no problems. Having the two doors both front and back also came in handy as it was a hot weekend. The small porch also offered a small amount of shade. We did also have the matching wind break which also gave us shade.

Borrowed this tent off some friends who were camping with us, shown the first time to put up, the second time took about 10 to 15 mins to set up, not too bad. A bit small for four persons if you have a lot of equipment, but as it was our first time it did give us an opportunity to see what camping was like. Overall the tent was good for what it was designed for, definitely a weekend camper and not long hols.

Great for us - 2 adults and 2 young kids as all in the same tent but separated by the living area.

Its also not massive and its fairly light - perfectly big enough for a week or two. As long as the weather is not too grotty.

The 'living' area is a little too narrow but the bedrooms are fine.

Especially good having a door back and front to let the air circulate. Shame they bothered with the daft plastic windows so beloved of tent makers these days but heavy and pointless.

Saw this tent on a trip it was in a sale in Cornwall 2008 First attempt to erect it took 1 hour with help from other campers ONLY because it was blowing a Gale on top of the Cliffs,Overall a great Tent now takes 15 mins to erect, Central living area is cramped and Ground sheet could be larger have resorted to a large footprint ground sheet. Have enjoyed many outings with this tent and will remain doing so for the next couple of Years. ONLY BAD POINT Joints on erection tend to slip apart when sliding through ! A bit loose fitting looking into that before season starts.

Great tent for breaks away - for four people I can imagine it would be a squeeze in the shared area between berths. But there's only two of us and we only take one berth so we have plenty of room - can stand up straight in tent.

East to put up - two doors front and back for those really hot days.

Only downside is that the shared area does not have a sewn in ground sheet.

Excellent tent for beginners, used for 2 seasons 2007/08 without any problems. Plenty of space for 2 (Father + teenage daughter) with vis-a-vis bedrooms for maximum privacy. Probably a bit tight 4-up. Living area a bit small but headroom excellent. Pitched easily in windy conditions on Isle of Skye and very weatherproof. Reluctantly replaced for 2009 trip to France with larger Outwell Maine L tent with same vis-a-vis configuration but more generous living space.

We used this tent for a wet and windy week in Cornwall and found it perfect for our needs (2 adults and one baby) Our only problem with it was the large gaps between ground and bottom of tent which is perfect for warm weather ventilation but totally draughty in high coastal winds! There were no leaks or movement and it withstood any bad weather thrown at us which is more than I can say for some of the fancier tents around us! We will look to upgrade in the future but for now this tent is an absolute winner. We will definitely replace with a Coleman.

Bought this tent as a weekender and it is perfect for that. The quality seems good and it stood up well to a heavy shower of rain with no problem. Very easy to put up and bedrooms go up last so you can keep them dry if you have to pitch in the rain (very important in my book). Living area is on the small side especially if there were four people staying in it. Would benefit from a sig but ground sheet was adequate and the tent only cost £100 so can't complain. I added on the Vango extension (see pictures) and it fitted much better than I thought it would and gives you loads more space for cooking, storage or just lounging. I bought a couple of picnic blankets which do very nicely as tent carpets for the living area and are much cheaper than custom made carpets. Overall I liked this tent very much.

This is the first tent that I have ever owned and it serves my family perfectly well (two adults and an eight year old).

As a weekend camper I don’t want to spend too much of my time getting my equipment together and I can generally have it up and ready to use in under an hour. It is a nice sturdy tent with good headroom in the central area, I am six foot and can easily stand up. I really like the vis-à-vis layout, there is precious little privacy in camping and I find that having the sleeping rooms separated by a few feet is a bonus.

I don’t think that I would want to spend more than a few nights in it at a time, space is at a premium and as my hobby has developed I have found that I can quickly fill the common area with tables, cookers and clothes etc. To get around this I have now bought a Wynnster leisure shelter to give us a bit more room.

I would recommend this tent for the weekend camper but if I was starting again I think that I might be tempted to go for something with a little more room.

Great sturdy tent for 1st timers or just trying the camping lark out. We are a family of 4 and find it perfectly adequate for a weekend. Has withstood strong coastal winds & heavy rain storms with no problems at all.

The bedroom pods can fit double airbeds and are fully SIG. A bedroom can be removed if necessary to give a larger living area. The only gripe is that the living area ground sheet is not sewn in but does cover the whole floor area.

Fibreglass poles are easy to slot together and after a bit of practice takes no time at all.
