2 Reviews of the Riverside 9
By: Toulmin Reason: I own(ed) one Made in: 2011 Rating:
This has been our first tent purchase.
There is only 3 of us but when we went looking around a tent exhibition the advise we were given was to make sure we had enough room. I am so glad that was recommended as we only used 2 of the bedroom pods and the extra space was used for putting all equipment in food, clothes and chairs etc. We have only used it once so far but had a successful time, took myself and husband about an hour to put up for the first time in pouring rain but it stayed lovely and dry inside.
Don't think 1 person could put it up or down. The only downside was that the front door does not zip all the way around so flaps about in the wind a little at night, we pegged it down on the second night which made it a little bit better.
Overall though a great purchase.

We bought this tent for £349 and we have used it 6 times including a 10 day holiday in the Vendee in France. We found it fairly easy to erect although a little fiddly getting the poles through the tent. We have encountered extreme high winds & torrential rain and it hasn't let us down.It has plenty of room and we have added the extra room with the porch and a pop up style gazebo with sides ! It take around 20mins to erect with 2 people, it can be down with one but we have found this quite difficult with the crossover pole design in the center. The quality is what you could expect from a Coleman and for our first tent purchase we believe that is is good value for money. Only downside is you cannot stand in the bedroom compartments. We have 4 children and find that it is adequate to sleep 6 although you could easily sleep 3 in each pod. I think we will be keeping this tent for quite some time - kids love camping and so do we.
