3 Reviews of the Croyde 8 Classic Polycotton
By: Campgirlie Reason: I own(ed) one Made in: 2016 Rating:
We bought this tent a few weeks ago (july 2016) and went camping In France for 9 days. We are experienced campers and our previous tent (J. Wolfskin) lasted 17 years without any problems at all, unfortunately our family outgrew this tent. The Croyde 8 classic is indeed very spacious. But the poles are of very poor quality! When putting up the tent we already noticed a crooked pole. At the end of the week we had 3 crooked poles and some of the welded supports of the poles just broke of. Do NOT buy this tent! What's a big spacious cotton tent when the poles are broken? We are very disappointed.

Pitching this polycotton tent was just as easy as our previous 8 berth tunnel tent was, even though it has aluminium poles instead of fibreglass and material heavier than the polyester,no more than 45 mins. Wow, what a very user friendly tent with loads of light and excellent ventilation, and when the front door is opened fully, which is 3/4 of width of tent the term bringing the outside in to your living room really does exist.Very well thought out and robust construction, and it does exactly what it says on the tin as regards how much cooler it is even when sun blaring down directly onto it Would definitely recommend this one, but if your budget can't stretch to the classic [ polycotton ],then go for the cheaper Croyde 8 which has exact same layout etc but polyester material.

This is the polycotton version of the Croyde 8. We have just spent a rainy week in the peaks and the tent was brilliant and solid. Well thoughtout design with flexible layout and pleny of space for my family of 5 giving us the large bedroom with plenty of space.Pitching with two was simple and quicker than our last tent (Vango diablo 600)although it is quite heavy (polycotton). The quality was excellent, as good as Outwell but a third cheaper than the wolf lake. Fortunately we were able to get it down in the dry!

Manufacturer's Description
Croyde 8 Classic Polycotton
For those looking for a bit more space, the Croyde 8 Classic is the perfect choice. The Croyde 8 Classic builds on the features of its smaller counterpart, the Croyde 6 Classic and has an extended living area, making it one of the most spacious tents available. It shares the same rear layout but also has an oversized two berth bedroom that can be suspended in the front of the tent to give total sleeping accommodation for up to eight people. When not required, the two berth bedroom can be omitted and you can make the most of the interior space.
The Croyde 8 Classic is the perfect tent for families looking for the next step up from a polyester tent but are still looking for the best value for money. The front panel allows for the door to be arranged in a number of stages, from just a doorway to fully open. Whilst the material is breathable, ventilation can be found at the rear of the awning with a low level rear vent as well as a zip close front apex vent. The tent has a fully sewn in groundsheet to keep the weather and bugs out and the warmth in. Inside you’ll find a large inner that, if required, can be divided into two bedrooms by using the zipped privacy curtain. This inner tent has loads of storage, both in the interior pockets and also in the organiser built into the front. The upright front wall allows full use of all the interior space and you’ll appreciate the generous headroom that provides a spacious interior. The front of the tent is protected by the large built-in sun canopy that you can shade under on those sunny days and as it’s an integral part of the tent, it is sturdier and less fiddly to set-up unlike some add-on canopies. If not required or in stormy conditions, it can simply be stowed away.
The Croyde 8 Classic is packed with ideas to make your holiday as enjoyable as possible.
