1 Reviews of the Arizona 180
By: Eric Rayment Reason: I own(ed) one Made in: 2011 Rating:
I bought this tent after much research into the comparative qualities of 'British' v Dutch tents and after reading the forums here. I particularly wanted a well made cotton canvas tent, not too big nor expensive and one that could be easily pitched and transported. I checked out the Esvo website and found the perfect tent (or so I thought): The Arizona 180. It is a 3/4 person tent, beautifully made with a bath tub groundsheet to the inner tent and a standard groundsheet as an optional extra for the porch area which I also bought. I carefully checked all the details on the English version of their website: the size and the weight etc. The overall height was stated as 150-190cm so there would be some headroom in the centre of the tent. The total weight is 15kg so no real problem with carrying. I ordered it and paid by credit card and it arrived after 8 days. So far, so good. However, on the first pitch I discovered that the tent height was wrongly described. The overall height is only 150cm (5') and the porch area is very small, no good for sitting in either.
I have emailed Esvo to complain about the discrepancies in their descriptions between the English and Dutch/German websites but so far (4pm 3/11/11) have not received a response. They have, however suddenly corrected the error on the English version website. Although I still think it is a lovely tent, it is not the one I thought I was buying and I would not have bought it had I known the height. It does not have the headroom for a couple of old codgers like us. I am disappointed with Esvo as a company and am left with yet another white elephant. Perhaps I should just give up camping?
