2 Reviews of the Bedouin 200
By: Simonmiles Reason: I own(ed) one Made in: 2018 Rating:
I've used a lot of high end canvas tents over the years and IMHO the Esvo Bedouin 200 is the best small canvas tent in the world right now.
While it lacks the outright space and standing height of larger models from Esvo, Cabanon, de Waard etc, it's built to the same high standard, is very portable, very quick and easy to pitch (with practice one person can do it in 5 mins), very comfortable for its size and uses its space to maximum effect (it will take two camp beds lengthways or two XL SIMS lengthways or widthways).
The tent is very well ventilated, has enough space for basic cooking and sitting out under the porch, and provides 'stooping' room at the front, which means you can enter and exit the tent standing (this may not sound like much, but I can tell you from experience it makes all the difference in real world use).
The baby Esvo is also, by some margin, the most stable of the company's many excellent pyramid tents. This is down to its smaller size and lower profile, which makes it stronger under tension and better able to shed wind than its larger stable mates. I've used this tent in gale force wind and torrential rain and it's never been anything other than rock solid and totally waterproof. The confidence this inspires is wonderful; I just never worry about the weather when I'm in the Bedouin 200.
Complaints? Very, very few. I will say I did upgrade to high end aftermarket pegs, but I've always done that with all my tents, even very expensive ones. And talking of price, whilst not cheap, I think this tent is good value given its quality (and much more affordable than the larger models in the range).
Of course, couples and families may want a larger tent when pitching up for a week or more. But for a single person, or couples on short weekend camps, the Esvo Bedouin 200 is simply outstanding. Highly recommended.

Beautiful tent. Only pole. Very easy to set up.
Because of the special styling this tent is still sturdy/windproof, although there are 60% less pegs to put into the ground.
The materials are the strongest available: heavy cotton tent canvas of the well-know trademark Ten Cate, Europe's best cloth manufacturer. Also zippers of YKK and the strongest pvc soil.
This is a tent you buy for life.
