1 Reviews of the Licata 300
By: Spotter Reason: I own(ed) one Made in: 2009 Rating:
Purchased this tent because wanted to be able to stand up (i'm 5ft 3), and have a porch. I absolutely love it, no idea if can put up on my own because I had help by a lovely couple we met in the campsite when 1st arrived but it is very simple to erect. It should be ok because single mums had been recommending larger 4-berth tents on this website's message forum but I didn't want a tent as big.
The picture shows people sleeping in the bedroom across the width of the tent but because I am short and with children we could sleep the other way which gave us loads of 'elbow' room. There was room in the porch for 2 chairs and small table. Also had all cooking stuff stored here. Lots of ventilation and it's great having big window entrance plus side windows which can be covered for privacy. There's also loops for hanging lanterns and handy pockets in the bedroom.
There is a BIG 'but' with this tent though - it rained heavily for 5 hours one evening/night. The entrance is at the front of the tent and slopes so that when you go in/out the rain falls onto the ground sheet, and we had large puddle at front of tent. However, it was exceptional weather and I did go in/out quite a bit.
I would not recommend this for 3 adults who want some space, but the size is perfect for 2 adults, or 1 adult with 1 or 2 children, because you can store stuff in the bedroom.
I loved it, but will be investigating possibility of a separate canopy to keep up over the entrance when it's closed. Given it an '8' because also don't know yet if can put up on own.

Manufacturer's Description
The manufacturer has advised that this model has been discontinued.
New for 2009 is the exciting Licata 300 tunnel tent, this three man version features a sewn-in groundsheet throughout both the living and sleeping areas. With stand-up height in both the living and sleeping areas this is a highly practical tent for couples who just want that extra space. The roomy bedroom will easily sleep 3 adults comfortably and the simple 3-hoop tunnel design is easy and quick to pitch in all environments. With large panoramic windows in the front it is nice to sit inside and look out on poor weather days and when the sun is shining just lift up the front canopy and relax in the shade watching the world go by. A perfect tent for couples that’s is easy to use and great for longer camping trips.
