I always wanted to be first at something and here is my chance. I just bought an Easy Camp Phantom 4 in the sales for Ł49.99 plus Ł6.50 delivery. Not a lot of money you might say. You would be right.

Easy Camp tents are made by Outwell, some of them use the same very high quality materials as the expensive Outwell tents. This range is one of them. For example the Phantom 5 has a 3000HH flysheet, not 2000HH or worse 1500 HH, and there is extensive standing room for anyone up to 6ft tall, two windows, several vents, an inbuilt groundsheet, insect mesh on door, really nice silky bedroom fabric and seriously strong poles. Very nice to look at too.

I was very surprised to find that this is a genuine five berth tent because I expected room for berth, but no. Normally you halve every manufacturer's description to find the real sleeping capacity but it is true, five adults can sleep in this tent with no problem lengthways or widthways, but they would not sit around a table in the porch, maybe in line by the bedroom door. Maybe. The porch will take motor-bikes and a plenty of luggage. This tent is very ideal for a couple with two children, for them it will be a campsite palace.

Having said that, and I am genuinely impressed, there are only two of us in our 60's and it is miles too big for us. I put it up single-handed on a windy day in no time at all, and took it down in even less time.

I paid Ł56.50 for this tent, that is all, I couldn't believe it so I bought it before someone else did. If you would like it, then get in touch with me because you can have it for the same price. At Ł100 in the shops it is probably better made than anything else in that price range, and I presume that the other models in the range will be just as good.

What could be improved ? A fully sewn in groundsheet would be nice instead of half, maybe a better ratio between bedroom space and porch space would be good to give the porch a little more sitting space, hard to fault this tent though.
