6 Reviews of the San Remo 600
By: Farquar Reason: I own(ed) one Made in: 2007 Rating:
We up-graded to this tent from a small 4 berth tent after our first time camping! We have spent quite a few holidays away and continue to do so in this and have been pleasantly surprised to how it has sustained in bad weather (especially in the Lakes!) Our family consists of mum, dad, daughter and dog and find we have enough living space around us, even when everything is un-packed and set up! The tent has 2 entrances, main one includes poles which you can extend into a canopy. The tent has 2 sleeping areas (6 berth) however I do think this would be more of a tighter sleeping arrangement and be more comfortable sleeping 2 to each compartment. Only downside to this tent is that it has no sewn in groundsheet which can be a bit blustery in those more windy days/nights. Overall good value for money!

Bought this tent at the end of last season and have used it for 2 full weeks this year so far. For the price, £80, it is fantastic. It has withstood pouring rain and kept us bone dry, strong winds and stayed perfectly upright and has stacks of space - room for a long table in the living area - room to seat 6 at the table too!
I wouldn't sleep 6 in the tent unless I had to though. For 4 it is comfortable, 6 would be a squeeze. We will be trying it with 2 adults, 3 kids and 2 large dogs next weekend and I think it will be pretty cosy. With 2 adults the tent went up first time in about 50 minutes - in very hot weather. This time we got it down to 40 minutes - in wind. I'd advise starting at the front and working backwards.
The only downside is that it doesn't have a sewn-in groundsheet which would be handy - but you can't expect that for the money. My partner and I are very happy with this tent and shall use it for a few seasons before replacing.

Picked this up in the winter from Go outdoors for only £40 brand new! Fantastic tent, large bedrooms and huge living area. Lots of windows, pockets and even has a side entrance as well as the main front porch entrance.
Personally I would say it needs 2 people to put up and can be tricky on a windy day. Can happily live in this for weeks, it's that good!

A great tent at an affordable price - this is our third year with this tent - sturdy, great space, all our friends wish they had bought this! We see ourselves using this for some years. We love the height of this tent - enough for my tall husband to stand up straight, and then some.
The bedrooms are spacious with plenty of room for the stated number of people.
We see ourselves using this tent for at least the next 5 years - excellent value.

I have just bought this tent to replace my San Remo 400 - the bedrooms in the 400 were a bit too small for 4 on airbeds. The 600 is perfect, the living area is massive and the bedrooms are plenty big enough for 2 single (or one double) airbed. I can also put this tent up on my own easily (even in the wind). Would definitely recommend this tent for short or longer breaks.

My wife and I chose this because the space and practicality are unrivalled at the price, which was less than £150 from Taunton Leisure in late 2007.
Putting it up when windy can be tricky with just two of us but thereafter it's like staying in a hotel. We used to backpack in our younger days then moved up to larger two-man tents. A few nights were fine. In the San Remo a fortnight is not long enough!
