I've just returned from a weekend away in this tent and it was perfect for our needs. Being very early in the season and setting off after school I needed something that would be quick to pitch and setup before it got completely dark.

This tent is simple to pitch and was completely up and pegged out in less than 10 minutes. We were plenty warm enough even though it was single skinned although I did worry a little about how transparent it was at night with a light on.Condensation was minimal and disappeared quickly each morning when the door was opened.

We didn't have any rain whilst we were there so I can't comment on it's waterproofness but I'm confident that we would have remained dry.

I tested this tent with just myself and my 6 year old daughter and we had just about enough space but I think for 4 people it would be a bit of a squeeze.

All in all a great little tent for the price.

The manufacturer describes it as a little retro but a lot of fun. Only if it doesn't rain at all. I bought one for my son to put outside our larger tent; he liked the funky design. Even the lightest shower results in a flood in front of the door as the seam surrounding the entire front zip quickly saturates with water and drips into the tent. On two occasions a lake formed inside the tent; not recommended if you want even basic shelter in damp weather.

I bought this tent for short stays, alone or with one child, and for taking with public transport when travelling alone. It weighs about 4 kg and has a little packsize. I did not want a real backpacker's tent, because I like to have standing height in the tent. Since the middle (only) pole is only 2 m high, I really only can stand close to the pole, but it feels spacious.

The tent is sold as a 4 person tent, but after having tested it together with an eight year old I would not recommend it for more than 2 persons. It is possible to fit two airbeds in, but there is only one position they can be in because of the tipi shape with 6 corners - one on each side of the pole, leaving a little space in the entrance and space for some bags along the sides.

The tent is single-skin, which makes it very transparent at night with the light on! There can also be a problem with condensation - there is only a vent (with fly mesh) under the 'top hat'. But with two persons in the tent we did only have very little condensation.

The Tipi comes with a SIG, and the door is not only with fly mesh, that can be zipped below, but also the door itself can be zipped to the edge of the groundsheet, a luxury not all of the bigger more expensive tents provide! No draught from beneath the door or fiddling with velcro here.

The 16 mm steel pole seems a bit wobbly, but there were no problems although we had strong wind. It was a bigger problem that the fly sheet panels are pressed inwards by the wind, minimizing the little space in there, and I think some more pegging points around the tent itself would help to keep it in shape. We had no rain, but although the HH is only 1500, I am confident that the steep walls will help to keep the rain out.

As with all tipis there is the problem with the sloping door, letting in the rain, which can be solved by using a tarp over the door. My solution was to punch some holes in the fly mesh in the top to fix a tarp to the pole, but there might be less drastic methods!

For the money, I think it is a nice little tent, usable, and looks cute.
