2 Reviews of the Wilmington 500
By: Awundrin Reason: I own(ed) one Made in: 2014 Rating:
I purchased the Wilmington 400 which is the same as the 500 only a tad smaller. The old adage 'you get what you pay for' is more than true when it comes to this tent.
I took the tent out for the first time and set it up. Much to my dismay and shock, the floor packaged with the tent was made incorrectly. The door opening was on the opposite side which meant it could not be used! Not fun when you are at a remote campsite with guests along!
The tent also came with several holes/rips in the insect netting. One in the middle of the big, front door and two or three others on screened window of sleeping pod. I complained directly to easy camp and its parent company but was brushed off. Not impressed! I was told by each company that they do not answer to customer complaints directly which is BS and a major cop out.
My opinion is to find another tent if you want quality. The lack of customer service was appalling.

This is a good sized tent which is reasonably easy to put up. You could comfortably sleep 4 and the living space is good for the money.
However, the lowish price is reflected in the quality. I've had to send mine back because the stitching at the back peg point was not attached to the material of the tent, 2 of the internal plastic rings for attaching the inner tent were broken and the stitching for the zip of the inner tent is flimsy and looks like it won't last long! Generally it looks like a cheap tent.
Having said that it's comfortable and the front and side entrances allows flexible use of the space.
