7 Reviews of the Hampton 6
By: K3vnnyork Reason: I own(ed) one Made in: 2016 Rating:
Bought this tent on a friends recommendation we now have a group of friends (5 families) all with Hampton 6’s and we all love them! Others have gone into the detail of the tent so here are my more general comments.
PRO’s: A great value huge tent easy to erect ( just remember the yellow poles go into the bedroom end!)
Used it in all weathers ( even a really bad storm on cliff tops ( Runswick bay) never a drop of rain or failure of any sort ( tip the provided tent pegs are useless buy the steel spikes with glow tops sold on eBay around £10 for 20 you will never need any replacements)
Light and airy with lots of windows all with blinds and a great sized front porch for cooking and sitting under even in inclement weather. The bedroom area whilst will sleep 6 we think it is more suited to four., the bedroom inner tent is great with a removable divider.
CON’s : We like others find using the main front zipped door difficult in that it’s hard to do up the zip we have tried everything including undoing guys etc we think ours was an early edition as only a few others have the same problem, we actually now use the side door which suits us better allowing better use of the front covered porch.
If you can get it ALL back into its bag . Well done!. For ease we put the bedroom inner tent back into a “ supermarket bag for life!”
So to summarise:
This is a great first family tent which may surprise you with both it’s longevity, spaciousness and extreme value for money buy it in the sale at no more than £249 ! We paid a bit less !

We own a Hampton 6, nice and roomy with plenty of headroom. We are a family of 2 Adults ,1 preschooler and 3 dogs. Its the perfect size for us. We used in high wind. The standard pegs that come with it arent great, although the angled hard ground stakes are fine. We found that the wind pulled the standards out where the guy ropes were attached . Luckily we had some extra ones that are the long hard ground pegs, they did the trick. Would recommend buying some of these if you get this tent. For us this was the only downside. The windows in it are fab, plenty of storage pockets and the bedroom doors just shove into corner pockets rather than faffing with elastic and toggle. If you are thinking of picking it up in the sale, go for it.

I bought the Eurohike Hampton 6 for this year (2017) as wanted to have more room now that my son is 17 and likes to bring a friend along when he comes on holiday. Bags of room for us all and sleeps 4 people very comfortably. Could sleep 6 I guess if using a double airbed and single in each room. Loved the pockets to put odds and sods in and lovely big windows although we kept the blinds up so as to keep the sun out as we had hot weather. I especially liked the overhang canopy over the front door which gave ample space to sit and keep dry even when raining. Was also useful for putting my camping kitchen under and provided a little shelter from the wind. Was very easy to put up (needs 2 plus people though)and took only 20 minutes. Only a couple of negatives - You can trip when walking in through the front door as there is a considerable lip, so need to be careful. Also the door zip was quite hard to shut,(could potentially get damaged) although may be remedied by slacking off the guide ropes. All in all very pleased with my purchase

I saw this tent in the shop and wanted it. I loved the way it looked. I wanted a bigger tent and thought this was ideal. I bought it at xmas and finally got to use it this weekend just gone. Unlike other reviews I loved it. It was easy to put up, only took half an hour tops. There is lots of space. We all loved how much room there was. I liked the windows so there were lots of light able to come in. Silly I know I liked the pockets that you could store items in and not lose things. We had a storm with some heavyish winds and the tent survived with out any problems. I got really upset when I had to pack it away as I wanted to stay longer. Already looking at when I can next go camping.

Hi, unlike the other reviews here we found the tent excellent. Bought it to replace a more basic tent as we wanted a sewn in groundsheet to keep the midges & drafts out (which it was really good for). We camped for 5 days on the edge of the cheviot hills, on a really exposed elevated campsite which had views for miles, but very exposed to the wind. The tent is a great size for 4 people, we loved the huge living area. During one night there was a (really quite scary) storm with high winds and driving rain. Our tent was one of the most exposed, yet it survived the night intact, unlike around half of the other tents on the large site. The one next to ours was destroyed before we even went to bed, and by the morning the campsite was covered with ruined flattened tents of all sizes, including some very big and expensive looking models :( There was even a very large, heavy section of large tree that had snapped off and just missed a tent. Our tent had completely stood up to the weather, and hadn't leaked. The only place any water had penetrated was a little moisture on the inside of the side of the tent where the wind had been driving rain against it all night. We are booking another week camping in the lake district soon and cant wait to go away in the tent again.

Used this for our first family camping trip last summer (2016). On the first night there were some heavy but not gale force winds, the tent shook a bit but remained intact. The following day we returned after a day trip to find the tend flattened. 2 of the poles had broken at the joints and another 3 had broken in half. Despite this I have tried to find a full set of replacement poles as the tent itself is ok but I can only find repair kits. Does anyone knows where I can find a full set of new poles?

We bought this tent from an Ebay company who sell on brand new tents that have been returned by customers. They check them over for faults and then sell them on at a huge reduction, pointing out the faults so that you can repair them. Our tent had two tiny holes in the canopy and two tiny holes in the groundsheet. They sent us tenacious tape and tent repair patches for free, so we quickly patched the tent up and were THRILLED with it.
It is large and spacious, with easily enough headroom for my 6'1' husband to wander around in. The bedroom area was just the right size for a double airbed, a single z-rest and a double SIM.
The living area was spacious and has HUGE windows all over it which you can cover over at night.
In essence, we were very happy with the tent, especially for £150, since we couldn't have afforded to become campers otherwise.
HOWEVER, after setting our tent up on the first afternoon (No problems, easy for two people) and having our first happy night (three little boys, vERY excited to be camping at last) we returned from our day trip the following day to find the whole tent flat on the ground.
All the tent poles had sheared through the metal connectors during a strong wind. The tent was written off. No other tents had blown down on the campsite, although a cheapo gazebo and the awning on a bell tent had blown down.
I can only conclude that this is a badly designed/manufactured tent. The British weather is unpredictable and we booked the week when sunshine was forecast for the whole time. I would NEVER buy another Hampton 6 or even a Eurohike tent because if this was possible on the second day of our first ever camping trip we couldn't definitely guarantee that any other of their products wouldn't be capable of doing the same thing?
Right now, after having had to pack up a flattened tent and contents only a day after having packed it all up in the first place, I can't imagine we will ever go camping again - the effort is too enormous and the risks are too great. Three sobbing little children with only one day of holiday to show for all the preparation and anticipation. What a disaster :(
